Daisy
Daisy actually chuckles. A local spirit? Ah know Randall has his rum- but most folks don't appreciate it the way Ah do. We don't want 'em declaring war on us...

The Princess
She smiles slightly as she is reminded of the drink at the treehouse. "Hmm. Yes, I see what you mean. They've already sampled that and found it lacking, anyway. I'm trying to distill something, but it's taking longer than I anticipated."
"I think a minor magic item from the town would be our best bet. I'll talk to Nalissa, maybe she knows of something."

Jaxsen is currently trying to find Liam and make a trip to the native village to see what kind of crops they grow. Maybe all go together?

I am hoping that the details of these trips materialize organically, but let me know if you need me to step in to help organize.

Daisy
Daisy returns late in the afternoon, dusty and frazzled-looking. The next Mayor this town gets needs to be an experienced cat-herder. Ah have what Ah hope will be a suitable gift for the Dwarves. We leave in the morning for the mining camp, and then will head for the native's village after we've done our negotiations.

Max Wonders back to his tent and begins to change into his everyday clothes. He gathers up his belt and puts his sling and stones in a pouch and his mace through his belt. Grabs the leather armor and heads down to the shore line to clean and wash his new Hol(e)y armor. Once there he uses sand and salt water to remove the blood stains and grim covering the leather. Returns to his tent and hangs it to dry. Then heads to the Clinic to see if there is anyone building on to it.
At the building site for the future Beachtown Healing House, Max finds 2 teenage girls working on weaving long grass reeds into roll up mats to be used as removable interior walls.
The sand floor has been smoothed out level and watered down many times to make it a bit firmer, but like most of the buildings around town, there is no other floor installed or being planned for the place as of yet. There are 4 large bamboo poles pounded into the sand that make up the 4 corners of the small, unfinished building. As of yet, there are no truss supports or roof installed at all.
"Hey mister. Did you come here to help us? We got lots of reeds, but not much for lumber."

Hello, Young Ladies. So what have we in the way of bamboo? We could use vines from the jungle to weave between bamboo to form a flat raft type wall and then lash it to the corner studs. Do we have any tools, saw, hammer, machette?

The girls stop their weaving work to address Max.
"We can get more bamboo from the jungle, but we aren't really sure how to do the walls or roof. Do you know anything about construction?"
One of them points to a rusty machete and an old hammer laying in the sand.
"We don't have much for tools right now, but Nallissa said that someone ordered a crate filled with supplies and had it shipped here that might be perfect for building and making lumber. She said that once the owner comes back into town, she will ask him if they can be loaned out to us."

I have built mostly small things but building a wall is just several small things put together to make a big one. We will need 14 bamboo about 4 inches across. We lash them all together to make a wall panel. After 4 panels you have a hut. That simple.

"We can go find some more bamboo. Do you have time to show us how to do it?"

Sure I can show you. Grab that machette, it should take around 14 or 16 bamboo around 3 inches thick for each wall. Let's head down the trail.
Max grabs the machette if no one does.

The blade is rusting and quite dull. It appears almost more useful as a hammer.
The girls stop what they are doing and lead Max into the nearby jungle to a copse of bamboo that has already been nearly cleared of any good, strong stalks.
“This is the closest place to get some, but I’m sure there are more deeper in. This stuff grows everywhere around here.”

We can look at what is here but I don't want either of you going any deeper in the jungle than here with out someone who is armed. I have my mace so we should be OK but don't want to press our luck around here. Several of these will do for side panels but I need to sharpen this machette first. There is no way I am swinging this thing all day as dull as it is. Have either of you seen any large rocks around here? I can use on to sharpen this thing.
Max looks around the jungle floor for any type of close pored rock and maybe a course pored on too.

With the help of the two girls, Max eventually finds the stones he is looking for. The pair seem eager to learn and watch the sharpening process intently.

Max drags the stone across the blade following the length of the blade making sure to do an even number of strokes on each side. Drags the coarse for several time and then switches to the finer one and does the same.
This is how you sharpen any tool. Dagger, ax, machette or chisel. Sharp tools and weapons make for less force needed to cut what you want to. Less strength needed to cut through the bamboo means we can cut more with less effort. Now let's go find some bamboo.
He puts both stones in his pouch as long as they are smaller than his fist.

The girls turn out to be fast learners and hard workers.
"I think there is another patch a little deeper in, but father never lets us travel too far into the jungle without him."
"Can you defend us if something dangerous comes along?"

I will do my best. I have my mace and will make sure you two can get away. Let's keep it quiet and see what we can find. Let's not go to far with out some back up.

The girls direct Max to an older bamboo grove that was heavily harvested at one time but has since grown back rapidly in this jungle environment.
The elf starts cutting and the girls start piling, wondering how many stalks they will need to drag through the bush to get back into town.
Can I get a Hard Wisdom roll please?
