Re: OOC
It's fine,Tiglath's on holiday this week too.
Ridley - perhaps with Remington to appraise the safety/viability of the bomb(s) - can handle things for now.
Good luck with the move, hope it all goes smoothly.

Re: OOC
Yep. He's the one checking the bomb to see if it's safe to bring aboard
Doesn't stop anyone else trying to do something.

Re: OOC
As far as skills relevant to checking out a suitcase nuke I have Physics 2 and Electrical Engineering 1. I figure the physics would at least cover the question of whether or not the thing is going to kill us all with a radiation leak, but I'm not sure electrical engineering is what I'd need to use to figure out if the thing will actually detonate on command or not. Let me know what you think makes sense or if you want multiple rolls.

Re: OOC
A roll on Engineer/Electronics seems most appropriate.
If that roll is bad you can roll on Science/Physics to try for a bonus ( for understanding the basic principals involved ).
Again, that Investigate might help too. It's the "figuring out what's going on" skill, applications everywhere![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)

Re: OOC
If Ridley is done haggling I can do a bomb inspection post on the assumption that at least one person accompanied Remington.

Re: OOC
I've asked hardrocks and Coastguarder who wants to go, we'll see who fancies the trip.
If neither post in time assume Kar, as Captain, will ride along. In the cab, with the Ranger.

I hate online dice rollers. I never have good luck with them. Hopefully by the time we make it off Oghma Remington will succeed on at least one roll.

Re: OOC
Don't worry, you'll double-6 a totally inconsequential roll ( for the quality of a sandwich or something ) soon I'm sure
Anyway, with +1 Int or Edu A and +1 from Science/Engineering skill, that's a pass.

I completely forgot mongoose traveller does attribute modifiers on skill rolls. Apparently all those years of college did pay off for Remington.

But what does he know?Remington may not be familiar with weapons engineering, but fortunately he knows

Re: OOC
Do you want me to roll to detect radiation leaks, or was that something that would have been included in the general investigate roll?

Re: OOC
No need to roll, as you say the investigation dealt with that:
Especially with the excellent second roll Remington is confident the warhead is perfectly safe.a standard military ship's missile sized warhead. It has not been modified beyond being removed from it's missile and having it's detonation trigger replaced. The fact it is a standard warhead means it should be stable and safe, right up to the moment it isn't. The shielding lining the case may be “belt and braces”

Perfect. I figured it couldn't hurt to be extra paranoid with nuclear arms.

Post when you can, we're not on a deadline.
I'll give everyone a chance to close the conversations they're in/buy things/meet contacts etc then move on to the next scene.
