To a degree yes. MOst of those skills you won't use actively, such as building traps unless the party is hunkered down and have the time. Trap building can be time consuming, though I won't rule it out. Most of those skills will be accouted for during DC checks. Your DC to beat will be lower than some of the others (ie. easier for your character). You should definitely keep those skills in mind when ropleplaying your character. Weave them into your dialog and actions for sure.
Hope that makes sense. It will become more clear once gameplay begins.
