Tucked into the brush off the road, Feargus looks over at Goshawk and whispers, "I saw you dancing with one of those squirrel people at Nacknosh's. She seemed to be a better dancer than you..."
Goshawk grunts and before he can speak, Mardan Cy speaks up "I did not catch her name but she was quite agile. Despite the inherent danger I did love the festivities at Nacknosh's."
Goshawk blinks, closes then opens his mouth and says, "I don't know why I travel with you two."
Svenn continues around the building, looking for a way in or another cell window. If he sees a cell window, he will call out for Percula again.
Svenn makes a trip around the perimeter. There are two doors -- one grand, double door that looks like a main entrance, and then a smaller wood door, likely used by servants. There are several other low windows like the barred one, but these others are covered with wooden shutter-like doors.
Svenn recalls tales that the fey folk are vulnerable to the touch of bronze, as it is born of man, not occurring naturally in the world.

Svenn
Svenn tries to enter the smaller door, if it looks like he can do it without being detected.

Svenn goes back to the smaller door and, looking around to make sure that no one is around, reaches out a hand to try and push it open. As he does, the door ripples organically and shudders as a wide, toothy maw forms in the center, at about waist height. "Well, well, well," says the door, smirking (if doors can truly smirk), "the Earl said that Meraldan would be sending a champion. Although you don't seem to be much of a champion, I must confess. Still, beggars can't be choosers, these days, and it has been many long months since I have last eaten." A long tongue, red and dripping with drool, emerges and quickly licks the doors lips.

It's been about forty-five minutes since Svenn left the rest of the party.

Svenn
Svenn takes several steps back to distance himself from the mouth. "A champion? No, that's not me, and I'm not sure who this Merladan is. Sorry to disturb you. I'll be on my way." He tries to back away, keeping an eye on the door as he does so.

The mouth chuckles deeply, distorting the surface of the wood in a disturbingly organic fashion. "I didn't think you were the champion," it says, "but why don't you stay and chat? It's been such a long time since the Earl let me . . . entertain guests."

Svenn
"And by entertain, you mean eat I assume?" He looks around to make sure nothing is sneaking up on him. "Why was this Meraldan going to send a champion?"

Mouth
"You're not as dim as you look, although that might be the spell cloaking you, although surely you know that Meraldan is going to send a champion to rescue his . . . I've said too much. Are you sure you don't want to stay? I'll make it quick and painless, I promise!"

Svenn
"Rescue his ... dog? His dignity? You can't expect me to allow myself to be eaten unless I at least know why."
"Rescue his ... dog? His dignity? You can't expect me to allow myself to be eaten unless I at least know why."
The only answer is a fleshy, tearing sound as the door begins to tear itself off the door jamb. At the same time, Svenn catches a glimpse, out of the corner of his eye, an approaching patrol as they round the corner.

Sorry for the delay. Been feeling under the weather the past few days.

Svenn
"Well ... um ... good talk. I have to be going now though unfortunately."
He tries to beat a retreat from the door while avoiding the patrol.

The Door
The door is slow, and as it tears itself free Svenn realizes that it is actually not a door, but some sort of amorphous organism, a shapeshifter of sorts. "Oi!" it calls out, "you, guards! Intruder!"

Svenn
Svenn makes a full running retreat, trying to head away from where Newton is hidden.

Where the rest of the adventurers perch, unobserved, they can see a scrum of ogres rushing around a corner of the house, disappearing from view.

Did Svenn become visible again or was the door able to "see" him?

"I concur, and observe that this presents an opportune moment to reduce the earl's ogreon cohort by a not insubstantial margin. To arms, my new friends! To arms!"
