Grimm
Not wanting to risk his neck, Grimm will fire at any slizard that he sees far enough from his comrades, to avoid a fatal mistake in case he misses.
Light Crosbow - To hit: [1d20+1] = 9+1 = 10 (DEX adj.); Dmg: S/M/L [1d4] = 2

Re: Quest #29 “Raiders of the Lost Obelisk”
Avaala the Grey
Realizing that he has let the Slizard get too close and demonstrated a bad attitude to boot, Avaala quickly reverses strategy. He adopts a completely submissive posture, head down and hands up and open, hissing only softly and in what he hopes is a contrite and dominated tone. He steps away, completely surrendering the immediate area to the Slizard. If it allows him to back away even a few steps, Avaala immediately hits him with his new Bolo spell.

Bonnie
Bonnie stands her ground, placing a foot on Cealwyn. She faces the group of lizards, crouches low, and screams as loud as she can. "MINE!!"
She pulls out another dagger and then brings the bloody dagger to her face and licks the blood off. Bonnie growls and hisses at the lizards, doing her damnedest to try and intimidate them.
IF they still charge and engage, she will attack, throwing the two daggers at the nearest slizard who attacks.
Thrown Dagger [1d20+3] = 1+3 = 4 Damage(sm): [1d4] = 2
Thrown Dagger [1d20+3] = 20+3 = 23 Damage(sm): [1d4] = 1
The dice taketh, the dice giveth.

Re: Quest #29 “Raiders of the Lost Obelisk”
Here’s Bonnie!
Sunday, 21st of Goodmonth
Late Afternoon, Hot, Humid, Buggy
Grimm shoots a bolt across the open clearing that whizzes past one of the slizards approaching Bonnie. Wes and Luther begin taking the long way around to help their desperate scout, the druid quickly doubling the pace of the badly injured ranger.
The disguised Avaala lets the slizard closest to him continue yelling as it moves over to pick up the dead boar, motioning for the mage to help him drag it over to the pit area. Instead of complying, Avaala plucks out some small beads and a length of string, casting a magic spell at the creature that seems to pin its scaly arms to its sides temporarily.
After eliminating the first slizard with one slash of her deadly blade, Bonnie continues her aggression, trying to intimidate the others into backing down. Her tactic is ignored as the remaining trio charge in to attack. She throws two daggers with opposite effect, taking two blows from their stone axes in the process. 6 dam
While the lone outnumbered elf woman is slowly beaten to death, the other two slizards looking for Wes at the western edge of the clearing notice the interaction and begin rushing in that direction as well.

Grimm tries his luck again, thinking that a desperate situation requires action and not just standing there.

New position map is up. Sorry for the delay.
Re: Quest #29 “Raiders of the Lost Obelisk”
Luther
Luther circles to the West side of the Hut. He weighs the risks of hitting Bonnie, and decides to roll the bones. DOWN IN FRONT! he shouts, then takes two shots at the southernmost of the Scalies attacking Bonnie.
Longbow [1d20+1] = 5+1 = 6
Longbow [1d20+1] = 6+1 = 7
I don't think I would have hit if I could have added the two rolls together!

Bonnie
The two blows from the primitive axes shock her. Those slizards didn't look like they knew how to hit anything, she thought for sure they would back down.
Now facing three and spotting another couple moving her way, she decides to cut and run. She lowers her shoulder and rams the north slizard, on her way to the treeline, and hopefully a chance to blend into the jungle.

Avaala the Grey
Seeing Chauncey down and surrounded by Slizards and knowing that he needs to rescue Treasure, Avaala realizes he has come to desperate measures. He closes on the Slizard held by his Bolo spell and attempts to stave in its head with his staff.
I'm not sure what bonuses apply to attacking a partially restrained target, but here are the base rolls:
Attack with Staff [1d20] = 9
Damage from Staff, Any Size Creature [1d6] = 2

Wes
When Wes reaches the treeline, he stops and begins to cast one of The Shalm's blessings. With few left to choose from, he calls upon one of his most powerful and terrifying: Summon Insects. This should make them think twice... he thinks.

Mop Up Duty?
Sunday, 21st of Goodmonth
Late Afternoon, Hot, Humid, Buggy
Wes stays hidden just inside the tree line, calling upon the Shalm to bring forth a swarm of flying insects he can use against the slizards. The intense buzz he begins to hear coming mostly from the northwest is only slightly alarming now that he has cast this spell before in these over-ripe conditions. Luther moves around the huge hut and takes a bow shot towards Bonnie, firing one of his arrows off into the jungle harmlessly. (I am only allowing one shot after moving, not that it matters much in this instance) Grimm also fires again, plunking one of the trailing creatures across the clearing, soliciting a cry of pain as it now diverts its attention towards the dwarf instead.
Bonnie takes off for the trees, body checking one of the monsters as she flees, throwing it off balance and disrupting its counter attack on her. The others take futile swings at the thief as well, unable to connect this time. She hears Wes nearby starting his incantation as she slips into the jungle. The 3 slizards stop before entering the trees, while 2 more of them take off towards Luther and Grimm.
Avaala attacks the partially held slizard on the stone platform, missing with his staff, but causing the creature to reel backwards, tripping over the edge of the last step and falling on its ass in the dirt, making it even easier to hit next time.

Bonnie
She hears the slizards stop short of the tree line, and slows her escape. Turning around, she sees the unusual behavior and calls out: "Why are they stopping? Is it the noise? And...oh crap. The bugs again!"
Unwilling to look a gift horse in the mouth, she decides to mix metaphors and shoot some fish in a barrel.
Two shots at the nearest slizard.
Bow attack(20) = [1d20+4] = 11+4 = 15, damage = [1d6] = 2
Bow attack(20) = [1d20+4] = 20+4 = 24, damage = [1d6] = 3

Re: Quest #29 “Raiders of the Lost Obelisk”
Luther Sorry- a couple of days when I actually had stuff to do in the mornings.
Luther grins a hard, humorless grin. Come and get it, you ruttin' Scaly!
He takes two shots at the Scaly charging him.
Longbow [1d20+1] = 17+1 = 18 longbow damage: [2d4+1] = 5+1 = 6
Longbow [1d20+1] = 3+1 = 4
The second shot is rushed, and misses.

Mop Up Duty
Sunday, 21st of Goodmonth
Late Afternoon, Hot, Humid, Buggy
Bonnie puts two arrows into one of the gawking slizards, dropping it where it stands and causing the one next to it to flee towards the south where Avaala is having trouble connecting with the creature he has ensorcelled.
Grimm moves to the south slightly as well, seeing one of the oncoming slizards heading straight for him. The dwarf releases a bolt into the thing, which staggers it slightly but doesn't bring it down. It stops at the edge of the clearing and rears back its stone ax, hesitating to follow the thief any further into the bush.
Luther fires a sizzling arrow from his magic bowstring into the injured slizard coming for him, eliminating it from the fight with one shot.
The noise from Wes's accumulating insects is easily heard above the normal din of the jungle, and the cloud of bugs is thick enough to blot out the sky above them. The swarm he calls forth is impressive and frightening at the same time, the wind created by their millions of tiny wings actually blowing the half-elf's hair back slightly. The druid points his finger at the closest slizard and it is immediately swarmed by their mass. The druid can hear the creature crying out under the blanket of bugs as it is basically eaten alive by his conjuration.
