Deceidon and Flynn scramble through the hole.

Deceidon grabs one of the potion bottles he took back from the alchemist lab. He remembers the explosive effect one bottle had then. He wonders if he could do the same to collapse the tunnel behind them and stop the monster. He goes down the hall about 30', waiting for Hal to come through, poised to throw.

"Go!" says Elethil, looking right at Hal. The elf will not let the Captain sacrifice himself. As soon as everyone else is through the hole, Elethil will follow.

The fiery monster becomes completely visible now as the last of the group squeezes through the opening. The fiery monsters is a demon, and it is carrying a sword as big as itself through the tight corridor!

As the demon wraps itself around the corner and starts to charge the group, it stops for a brief moment to crush the remaining skeleton with a sweep of its free arm.

Captain Hal, upon getting a full view of the monster, does not want to stick around in such a cramped area for battle. He runs with Elithil through the opening and relays what he saw to the group, not stopping his run. The demon tries to get through the opening but finds itself unable to do so. It's sword juts out though and tries to cleave someone. It shouts in anger through some abyssal tongue, foreign to all ears around it, and jets of steam and fire coming out as it lashes out.

You are not sure how long the partially collapsed wall will hold out.

Actions?

what is our surroundings? do we see a place to run, or are we somewhat cornered?

The path out is a clear backtrack shot to the bandit camp; one path to follow pretty much. The group does not know how long the debris wall will keep the demon back, so he could break through at any moment. You all could escape the mountain at full sprint within a couple of minutes/rounds, or it might take longer if the demon breaks free sooner...

Outside, Deceidon looks up and back to see if there are any observeable holes or cracks in the earth from which the traitor Rand escaped.

"We still don't have the orb," says Deceidon.

"Let's make for the camp," says Flynn.

No such noticeable areas can be found. If Rand escaped, it was much earlier, probably in the big cavern. Deceidon is still armed with a mystery jar full of magic. Will he throw it or bag it and run with the others?

Being the demon seems not to be able to get through the hole, I assumed we just all ran to the outside. So I Deceidon didn't throw the jar and ran with the others to outside.

The fact that you think we have enough of a future for a new chapter is encouraging. :D

 Oh trust me when I say that I still have a lot of big stuff in store for you guys, real plot changers they be. You all will have to make some tough decisions down the road that will impact the campaign's future. Conflicts will arise, secrets will be spilled, and perhaps an entire organization may dissapear ;) Of course, this is all dependent on your character's actions, or inactions for that matter. Secrets may remain secrets and perhaps there won't need to be any conflict. We shall see 8-)

Honestly, I was worried that the mage who appeared and offered his hand was our last chance out of this micro-plane before the whole thing collapsed on itself, so I'm just glad we're not playing out an extended death scene.
