Roan nods head while cleaning the zombie gore off his weapons.

Re: The Tomb of the Lizard King
The group moves ahead toward the mounds and the burning fires in the distance. They approach cautiously and as quietly as possible for soldiers and Dwarves in armor.
As they reach the outer mounds, they once again see the larger tracks of the basilisk and obvious signs of its passing: stone statues of lizardmen, seemingly chiseled as if in battle or in flight. As they meander among the statues and mounds, the fires are welcoming but the half dozen lizardmen huddled around them are not.
Upon seeing the companions, the lizardmen hiss and leap up, raising crude shields and spears. They form a protective arc around a single lizardman, spears leveled at the companions.
Tensions are high as the lizardmen appear ready to fight to the death.
Actions?

Re: The Tomb of the Lizard King
As the lizardfolk and companions are at a stand off, since no one really knows how to speak to them, Gormundel steps forward and raises a hand. He indicates his group and says, "Yth thric slathalin. Sweekmon adun."
The lizardmen glance at each other, the frills on their heads and necks tense and then calm. The "leader" steps forward and says, Kii tepoha wux confn? Wer fueryon tepohaic jalyur amida throdenilti di udoka.
Gormundel nods and says to his companions, "I told them we did not come to fight, but seek peace with them. Their leader replied that the beast - I'm assuming he means the basilisk - has already killed most of them. I believe it thinks we have come to finish them off."
As Gormundel and the lizardman leader continues to converse, the others seems to relax, if only just a bit. When Gormundel mentions the name of Sakatha however, the lizardmen seem to become agitated and once again level their spears.
"I told them our goal is to kill Sakatha and free us all from his tyranny. I don't think they liked that very much." Gormundel glances back at his companions. "What else should I tell them?"
Does anyone in the group speak Draconic? If so, you can understand and converse with the lizardmen.

No to speak Draconic.
She tries to be ready but appear relaxed and non-threatening.

No on the draconic.
"Subterfuge isn't your strong suit, huh? Next time, don't tell the minions that we plan on killing their boss." Cassius says with a chuckle. "I guess tell them that we have no fight with them and ask where the beast went. Suggest we aim to hunt it."

Re: The Tomb of the Lizard King
Even though the lizardmen are ready to fight, the relaxed attitude of many of the companions seems to ease them, if just a little. Having been chastised, Gormundel speaks again with the lizardman leader, and after some moments, the group seems to relax a bit more. Gormundel and the leader continue to converse in the tongue of reptiles and dragons and after a few minutes more, the wizard turns to his friends and says, "I think they've agree to accompany us as guides to meet their king. It's the best I could do."
The wizard shrugs sheepishly and sighs.
