A simple journey

[Rex]

The dwarf seems lost for a moment, "Yes I am tired. I have watched here for so long I have forgotten how long it has been. I can't recall ever seeing anyone since the others left. I am Fili of Clan Varith, a hunter by trade."

"I am so sorry to tell you this Fili, but your clansmen have left a long time ago. In fact, a very long time ago. My khuzdul friend here is a far away ancestor visiting. You should rest too. You deserve it after your long watch. Is there something you want us to do for you?"

[Rex]

Fili seems to strain some and then suddenly he is visible to everyone, all be it sort of see through. The rooms become very cold suddenly.

Everyone can hear him, Arngeir and Algrim faintly, like he is a far ways off.

"I don't know, maybe I do need something from you. I keep thinking about something, over and over. I am not sure if it is real or not, but we were heading north from here, moving slowly with all the furniture when we were ambushed by some of the invaders. I keep seeing myself fall to arrows and I was wounded badly and I was telling my clan folk to push on without me or they wouldn't make it, then it all fades away and starts over again."

Arngier focuses, trying to pick out the ghosts accented old-speech.

"Hmm, find and lay to rest, yes?"

Algrim eyes go wide at the sight of the ghost of an ancestor to him (potentially) "Hmm wait, did ya see yer attackers? Was it orcs?" he asks Fili's ghost.

Turnip seems a bit shaken, but looks at Fili and then Arngeir.

"I think I can help you Fili. What's behind this stone? Is it something of yours? Was this your room?"

To Arngeir.

"I need to find something that belonged to him. Having that I can track him down, I think. I've done this a few times in the city, when a friend of ours was kidnapped."

[Rex]

Fili, "Yes it was my room. I was Clan Chief here. We were hunters and trappers, gathering meat for Azadmere. The loose floor stone covers my savings."

On hearing this Arngeir continues with prising up the stone.

Turnip reacts immediately, stares at Arngeir and shakes her head vigorously.

Then turns back to Fili.

"Fili, I need to borrow something that belongs to you to be able to help you. Is that okay?"

[Rex]

Fili seems focused on Turnip and Algrim.

"Yes, that is fine if it helps you out. Always willing to help out a fellow Khuzdul."

Algrim "huh, guess I ain't gonna get an answer ta me question." the dwarf shrugs it off.

[Rex]

Sorry Ed, somehow missed it.

Fili looks at Algrim, "I am not sure what an Orc is, we were attacked by human invaders. Outnumbered but I think everyone but me made it through the ambush."

The orcs are brought to Harn roughly 600-700 years after Fili's time by the mage Lothrim to serve as his soldiers.

Turnip turns back to Arngeir and nods.

"Okay Arngeir, let's remove the stone and see if Fili left something behind."

Algrim "Orcs, well guess they came after yer time Fili."

[Rex]

Arngeir pries the loose stone up and underneath a hole contains a rotten bag with three Khuzan Gold Crowns and a black mass of corroded metal.

"Fili, what was metal lump here?"

[Rex]

Fili looks into the hole, "That was my stash of silver coins. How long have I been here for silver to have corroded so much?"

Algrim "Century er more I'm thinkin' specially since yah dunno what orcs are." he replies to Fili.

Turnip

"If you hand me one of those gold crowns, and no I won't nick it, and give me some room to concentrate, I might be able to find out where Fili was shot down."

don't know if Arngeir also has psychometry and want to try instead?
