Good to meet, and welcome back. We've got a Boot Hill game that's active and been going for two years now. Fifteen whole days in game time!

I am considering running a Shadowrun game... I'm old-school, so I would probably go SR3... Anyone interested enough for me to pursue this?

I would have interest in Shadowrun, though I'm most familiar with SR2 and SR4 (4 is my favorite flavor of SR).

SR 3 is very similar to S2. The changes were more refinements than major issues. I was running several SR 2 games when SR 3 came out, and we transitioned almost seamlessly. The biggest problem that I had with that was remembering which small details went with which edition.

I would also be open to running an In Nomine game. Or some modern day, semi sci-fi. I could use either Fate Core or OTE for that.
Honestly, for me with play by post, the mechanics aren't that much of a big deal. The emphasis is heavily in RP, and the numbers tend to fade to the background, which I love.

Glad to see you getting close to running a game on here, my friend.
Looking forward to the introduction post once you decide which game you will be running.
As you know, I am up for anything you run.
For others reading this,
You'll love her campaigns. She is great at what she does.
It is definitely worth considering when searching for a new game to join.

I have posted the teaser for my game. I don't see the post up yet, though. I think it's waiting on approval.

Likely, there's a "your first two posts are moderated" policy here to keep out the spammers. I do see your teaser, though, and you have a few more posts. You should be good to go!

Yeah, I pretty much figured that was it. Glad to see it has been cleared now.

We have a little room left if anyone is interested in a CLASSIC TRAVELLER game focused on ...
- Adventures (over Starship Operations)
- Encounters (over Freight and Mortgages)
- Psionics (play a significant part in this game at the request of the first players)
Just making the offer ... we have 5 with room for 1 or 2 more.
BACKWATER
I know this isn't usually done HERE ... but there has been no posting in this topic for almost a month, so it could use a bump to prime the pump.

Since the beginning of history, humanity has measured time in ages. Ages of glory, of Dreams, and even of Great Sorrows mark the human tally of the years, giving a sense of order to the events of past centuries. But one age has yet to occur, an age of darkness, of decay, and of writhing doom. Witty bards and wrathful preachers know it as the Age of Worms, weaving it into the peripheries of their passion plays as a mythic era of destruction that could begin at any time. Astrologers, diviners, and servants of the fates know more. The canniest among them fear that the Age of Worms has already begun.
^^This...right here. I want to play/run this!

I would consider 3.5, but no way in hell would I go to 5e. I'm done with that edition.
I'm looking for a 2e conversion...

2e is too advanced for this grognard.

Convert it to 1e as you go. PBP should be slow enough to allow for it.

BlueHolme would be fine with me, my second favorite OSR game after Hyperborea. But, there are more 1e players on here so it would make recruiting easier.

You don't want a game with superhero PCs and cute cat-human rogues and dragon-human paladins?

I played 5e tabletop at an expo a while back. It was very fun, but very different than the way we used to play in my old AD&D days. Lots of voices and accents and hand gestures. And the way magic gimmick loot is thrown around. As Stephen Colbert semi-jokingly said while playing 5E for a charity event, "We didn't just get it in my day-- we earned it!"

But I do like the way spells are in 5E. Spellcasters have many spells that aren't overtly powerful, but if used cleverly and creatively, can really turn the tables in a combat or a situation. In ways that Magic Missile, Fireball or Lightning Bolt don't.

This made me laugh out loud. Not sure why. Maybe because I'm still on my first cup of coffee.

Spells can be quite powerful in 5E. The Shield spells screwed me over more than once. My players knew I hated it.

Hadn't considered 1e...hmm
