Chapter Nine: Year 300, 6th Day

"Sorry about the discharge everyone. The guy in the lift dropped his gun as asked, but down the shaft."

She turns to Zid. "I need to borrow your bubble to get down to a crew member in medical need. I'll keep an eye on this guy until he gets out and you get out of the bubble. Then I'll need you to keep him under guard."

Noor opens the lift door and starts the descent towards the guy, asking Miya to join.

The guy looks pretty much frozen on the ladder

Not only has he had a bad day, his future isn't looking too good either

She covers Noor and looks around and thinks about what to do next. With the invasion put down and gravity hopefully stabilized, a damage assessment can start.

Getting the kid out of the elevator shaft and patched up is high on her list. Then she wants to interrogate him. (Advocate 1+Psychology 1)

Also, she is going to check in with her Navy acquaintance for outside information.

Miya is determinedly covering the airlock - There are still people in there! Err - What about the airlock? she responds to Noor.

Maggie covers the guy in the lift shaft as Noor changes into the bubble-suit. He's nursing one arm and hanging on to the ladder with the other down by the freezer deck level. (2.5 decks down).

Zid removes the plastic-bag suit with a sense of relief.

Assana takes a look round - Can I have my laser back?

Ulrika looks to have been talking to someone from the networks...Noor, Anne Kroker is wanting a word when you are free...she promises it isn't for an interview?

Meanwhile, up on the bridge, Pranit can clearly see that the ship isn't heading for the asteroid, and that the ship is basically running on emergency control and the flight systems are locked out. The comms system is showing an incoming call. Outside the windows, there is another vessel VERY nearby...black with Sparks Naval Force insignia. From experience, you'd guess 2-3 minutes to dock and 60 seconds or so to clear the airlock. There'd probably be a second about somewhere (visible on the external cameras), if they are following Siwan-style protocols.

She goes to find Tibbs. "Are you okay? We have help coming; they've asked us to stop maneuvering."

"Damn. I thought they left the airlock. No, keep on that Miya."

She hands the laser back to Assana, and picks up the nearby pistol. "Thanks Ulrika." She takes the comm. "I literally have one minute. What do you need, Anne?"

Noor continues putting on the suit.

"Secure from acceleration. Queen of the Belt copies and will comply." Indrani switches to Reven's channel. "Reven, shut down the engines and thrusters. We have company coming. Bring up the deck plates to one gee, but slowly."

Reven Stiilpahth begins the shutdown. "Aye, Captain. I'll remain here until someone can check outside my door."

Noor continues putting on the suit.

Just to let you know that the Execs have messaged your family about your whereabouts. You've about 2 hours before they get instructions.

"Couldn't be helped. These raiders knew where I was anyway. I hope I was only spotted, not anything more sinister. Thanks for the heads up, I should contact them soon."

She finishes the suit-donning and enters the lift. "Captain. We have an injured and surrendered raider in the lift rather close to your deck. Can you get the door open to retrieve him? I need to get to the hanger deck to help Arnwulf."

The boarding Incident being effectively over (The Navy's "rescue" should arrive shortly) gives you all a moment to consider next moves.

Noor, to get into the depressurised hanger, will need to close the hatch in the lift-shaft between the Passenger Deck and and the Crew Deck and depressurise that shaft. If any moving about is needed before that, now is the time to do that.

Reven has tack-welded the hatch to engineering shut. That will need to be undone.

The Cargo hold is also depressurised. As the door wasn't shut when the ship was spun-up, the cargo in that side of the hold is gone. (Nalani needn't panic - the Cat-box, and her other goods were on the other side)

There are several holes that need patching and redecorating - and the control and comms network panels on the bridge need attention from an electrician with a tool-kit.

You have one injured prisoner and there are still people in the crew-airlock - though they seem to be making no move to come out.

There are a few minor scratches to attend to. Arnwulf is hovering on the brink of death. Multiple pieces of equipment need de-holing.

Ulrika is waiting to interview the boarding party from the Navy.

Assana is all excited and bubbly - possibly a reaction to still being alive
The two drivers are still in Pranit's cabin.
Tiberius is starting to list the number of legal suits that the ship should be able to start against various institutions and is muttering about "Conspiracies".

Indrani checks the lift doors to see if any of them will open on manual override.

Indrani finds one injured border clinging to the ladder in the lift shaft about 1m below her deck, and sees Noor, dressed in the emergency bubble, encouraging him to climb towards her so she can pass downwards and get to Nalani and Arnwulf. He manages to scramble onto the Passenger deck, where Tiberius threateningly waves his gun in his direction. What have you done to my ship?

Nālani is busy keeping Armwolf breathing, which distracts her from fretting about Hoshiko. She will be glad when someone who actually knows about treating injuries arrives to relieve her. For now she keeps quiet and waits, people know the situation, nagging will only annoy and delay them.

Checking if his grav car is still tied up correctly and checking for explosives. He then plans on doing a skin inspection for stray explosives or planted charges.

Just a reminder that Pranit's vacc suit is in pieces on the crew-deck floor having been opened by medics aiming to fix the gunshot wounds.

Pranit considers the vacc-suit lying on the floor of the crew deck - and starts looking for the bits. The main suit has some self-sealed holes that need patching. Two gloves to locate and the helmet is in the corner under a piece of spare hull-plate. If you stand in front of the airlock door, I will shoot and I can't guarantee hitting you says Miya from behind you - she's smiling as you look round. One of your gloves is down here by me.

Shifting the prop that was jamming the mid-lift hatch open and allowing it to close, Noor manipulates the controls and gets that section to depressurise. Getting into the Vehicle bay and the place looks neat and tidy. One light shows that the ventral pod bay is occupied (or at least pressurised) and, after closing the main hanger door, she re-pressurises the bay - and the main lift shaft. Finally - after what Nālani feels is an absolute age, she finally gets the pod door open.

Here Noor finds Nalani blowing air into Arnwulfs lungs (again) and can see the bubbles of blood coming out of his side as she does so. Medic roll please. Do you have a medkit on you?

She has a medkit with her, hopefully, she can stabilize him enough to move him.

Your ministrations are enough to stabilise Arnwulf...You really need that boarding shuttle to get him to a sick-bay or hospital ASAP...
