Okay, well, full disclosure. I only do two things well; think about my wife and plan. Since the former would break the "PG-13" forum rules by an X or two, I'll just post about planning.

From "Seven Habits of Highly Effective People", the first habit is "Be proactive". Military folks refer to this as "controlling the battle tempo", and self-defense teaches that the first good hit is often a decider. The second habit is "Begin with the end in mind." Which is a very good tool for military operations. What is it we're trying to achieve? The third, and last one I'll mention before boring you to death, is "Put first things first." Military operations are seldom over-staffed, and objectives ("the end in mind") must be prioritized. Start at the top and spend resources (time and ammo) on what's most important.

With that in mind, the immediate priorities seem to be:

1. Destroy/Render inop helos/gunships (for Erica)
   - Anything else close orbit defense?
   - OOC: Jakob has a "brotherly view" of Erica and Prerna.
2. Destroy/render inop missile sites
3. Locate and rescue captured ship crew?
   - Take the captured ship back?
4. Destroy/render inop pirate ships
   - Or capture, can we find pilots to get them away for a bit?
5. Get our ship out of harm's way
   - Move away then disgorge military vehicles?
6. Deploy our assets before they are trapped in the ship
7. Figure out what the city ramifications might be as we significantly alter the criminal's revenue streams.
   - Mostly worried about a counter-attack from criminal elements.

Besides our SEMC assets (which I'm still not sure of all the details), there are:

1. Aslan
2. Vargr (Jakob isn't aware of their exact position, IC)
   - Of course, if they want to work together, and have pilots, perhaps we can liberate a few pirate ships and split the value? Maybe their leader wouldn't mind going from pirate ship to pirate fleet?
3. 4DC folks flitting about
4. Erica and whomever she has on hand

What am I missing?

I think we're short of a tactical call re: the pursuit - or, put another way, what variety of badness to inflict on the (minicab) pirates.

This will devolve to Jess (as she is at the wheel) - but I may have not made this at all clear...

I thought our various recon teams were trying to identify the remaining groups so we could work out our targets.

I think we're short of a tactical call re: the pursuit - or, put another way, what variety of badness to inflict on the (minicab) pirates.

This will devolve to Jess (as she is at the wheel) - but I may have not made this at all clear...

Prerna gave orders to engage any pirate groups that we can identify, provided that there aren't civilians in direct danger. We have eyes on several groups, I think.

You list is pretty complete. We're currently looking to thin out some ship troops first so we can free the Hawkwind (and hopefully gain a ship or too) as a prequel to the main assault. We're trying to do this without getting noticed to keep our best surprises for later.

Good idea about using an offer of a pirate ship to get the Vargr to help.

If they're sharing a car Jess would hand her ACR to Prerna, as the person most likely to make good use of it.

In the interests of efficiency, I suggest our best shot takes out the driver while the others aim for the tyres. Then we drive on and the follow-up car can finish off the survivors.

Thanks! I was starting to wonder if I'd scared everyone off...

I'm not sure who, besides Freya, is an actual pilot. And of the rest of the crew, who could at least lift a ship off the deck and get it somewhere without crashing. If you're treating it like a big ship's boat, could the Pilot skill be ShipsBoat - 1?

If the team can rescue the crew of the captured ship, hopefully they have at least one pilot. Any extras would be a bonus.

Freya is the only person qualified to fly anything larger than a Grav vehicle.

We're very much skilled for kinetic activity in atmospheres (I don't think we have more than a couple of ship's troops), so Freya really expands our abilities, and is a real asset to the company. Which is why she's at HQ, not getting involved in firefights ).
