I remember the Dragon magazine ads for Bushido (and Aftermath) by Fantasy Games Unlimited. Your edition was earlier being Phoenix Games, that I never heard of.

There's an even earlier edition put out by Tyr games in booklet size. That was what I saw (but never bought or played) originally. Some of the MIT gamers got into it (significant samurai/ninja interest amongst the MIT gamers, Sheldon Price who authored a few classes in Dragon magazine was a member).
