Did you say Wendell? Who is this Wendell you speak of? I was in the middle of the forest with a divine light showering down.
I had just escorted two teenage girls in to the forest to show them how to harvest bamboo when the light came to me after I heard some strange music playing. There was no Wendell around or anyone else for that matter.

Starts to ease his way to the back of the group while Max has the spotlight. Looking around to see what is moving in the darkness. Trying to adjust his vision to see if there is anyone there.

Keg begins looking at the floor dubiously. He tries to carefully pick his way around the edges of the room trying to see anything of interest in the floor that he might be able to see through the dust while trying NOT to step on any tarot card images. This is why I don't like Magic!
Folks disappearing into gods know where. I could be heaven or hell itself or anywhere in between and we have no way to know!

The Horror Below
Starday, 27th of Goodmonth
Early Afternoon, Sunny, Hot, Breezy
Outside:
TK and Elnaerel search the rubble but don't see anything else of value in the heap. Searching for ways to fashion a broom to help remove the dust from the tower floor, the priestess pulls out a long clump of severely dried thatch form a small pile of stones, watching as a few of them tumble to the ground. They both instantly spot a bright beam of light that shoots out at them through a small void under the pile.
Inside:
Keg tiptoes around the dust, trying not to step on any of the carvings for very long, still unsure where his friends have disappeared to. He thinks he spots one area where there are words on the floor under the dust instead of carved pictographs.
Sweat drips from the tip of Keyon's nose as he concentrates even harder on removing the glass plug from the hole in the floor. After a deep breath, he is able to retrieve the small glass stopper with his picks, finding that it appears to have once been used to seal the top of a potion bottle. With the obstruction removed, the thief now feels a steady draft of cold air escaping up from the hole.

Starting to feel a little light headed now, and with their only torch sputtering out, possibly due to the lack of oxygen in this room, the elves still seem to be trying to talk this unseen guardian to death.
"Eeerrhhhmmmmm! The music and young girls sounds like Wendall to me, hhhmmmm, but I assure you that the light you saw was far from divine. Hhhhmmmm!"
"You cannot help me any more than I can help you. We are bound here together now, so we may as well get this over with. Eeerrrhhhhmmm!"
The light shining down onto the figure in the chair in front of you fluctuates again before suddenly becoming much brighter. The aura that was concentrated on the unmoving old man with the box on his lap is deflected outward, illuminating the remainder of the cold, dark room. This seems to upset the unseen voice even more. "EEERRRHHHMMM!!! HOW MANY MORE OF YOU ARE UP THERE? HHHMMM!"
Darklin moves behind the others while Gnodric moves forward towards the darkness, the fresh light shining in the room from above seems to make his torch flare up again as well. He is suddenly accosted by a ghostly image of a floating spirit that appears directly before him. The horrible robed visage looks identical to the old man in the chair as it reaches out to choke the life out of the fledgling fighter, wrapping its long boney fingers around the shocked Gnodric's neck. 4 dam and a Save vs. Death please

Seeing the old mage trying to choke out Gnodric he runs to the chair the Old Man was siting on and searches for the box that was in his lap. Hoping to find something magical enough to dispel this evil spirit.

The elven cleric starts when the light comes out of the rubble. "Wow! What's that?!" She puts her hands at both sides of her mouth to amplify her voice. "Boys, you should come see this!" She gets the tip of her little finger through the beam to see if something happens. Does it emit any sound? Is it painful? If nothing of note happens after this experiment, she'll lay aside the improvised broom and start pulling aside rocks to uncover more of the light.

"Watch out!", cries The Knife. "You'll get your fingers melted off!".
If nothing untoward befalls Elnaerel, he joins her in moving the rubble. Not being particularly strong, he uses his walking stick to lever the stones out of the way.
"You know, if this really was a lighthouse, this was probably the light. It must be magical!....I wonder if it's small enough to carry away from here..."

The sweating elf sighs with sheer pleasure at the rush of cool air. "Bless my black heart, but it's hot in this place." He wipes his brow and inspects the hole to see if anything else is there. Or if he can see anything through it without putting his eye directly upon it.
Keyon glances at Elnaerel with raised eyebrows. "How many secrets does this strange place hold?" He muses.
Seeing the old mage trying to choke out Gnodric he runs to the chair the Old Man was siting on and searches for the box that was in his lap. Hoping to find something magical enough to dispel this evil spirit.
Moves up with Max and while he checks the box she pulls one of her throwing knives and with it in hand reaches in to see if there is a pulse on the body in the chair.

Yep, that's TK digging around for his silver cup.
It's mostly made up of Dwarven Forge ruins pieces on a crumpled up paper grocery bag that I sprayed with black primer.
