I'm guessing that if they want to take over the ownership of Inchin it's easier to do it by getting the Baron to sign it over. They can do it by force but that's more complicated, but obviously doable. If we took the Baron away and left them to it they might worry he might get help to get it back by the Imperium. So their best option is for him to sign it over and then have an accident.
There was some troops on the other wide of the planet, by the mines, but they got bought off.

Fort Zinderneuf is currently garrisoned by Lt Col Peron and the (grav) cavalry troop of the Guard (four G Carriers and three squads).
They must comprise an intact and viable fighting unit - but they have been rather quiet of late...

They had enough sense to "get out of Dodge" for a while, and stay that way.

It'll be interesting to see what the guy on Jakob does. He can go after Jakob, and get caught by the rest of the team. He can assist his buddy and get killed by the time the rest of the team gets here. Or he can run, maybe to get mowed down before the rest of the team gets here.
Given the volume of fire a moment ago, and then one lone voice surrenduring, he might not like the odds...

As far as the melee goes Frank's arrival was the end of Round 1 so please all feel free to post new actions.

That includes Frank? Does he have a clear shot to the guy engaged with Jakob?
I deleted a post in IC as I thought I had no actions for the round, then read your post above.

Sorry - my poor wording. To avoid Frank moving quicker than Jakob arrive with a half action (e.g. a snapshot) at the end of this round. This will reflect a 3AP cost for climbing the steps into the cave. Frank will be able to see what's going on though so you can react to other folk's actions.
I'll post the bad guys' first 3AP / half actions shortly so everyone knows where they are at. Frank's "reaction" will come after these.
Yes you can target the guy shooting at Jakob.

If the guy on Jakob knew what Liv will do to him if Jakob gets hurt, he'd just end himself painlessly now.
Addendum: Whew! Jakob might not have to face the "Wrath of Liv"!

Totally OOC knowledge, but I'm wondering how connected Erica is to these guys. Holding up her hands, and the earlier comment about the robot.

Are you performing some kind of pre hatching chicken inventory?
Jakob
still has to pay off "nearly dying", has
an additional LW that he didn't have before he
promised to be careful and the other guy still has another snapshot!
Very fortunately Jakob's first burst rendered him FUBAR...

Hmmm, OK so the ones gaurding the delegates, SuSAG and The Shore are the ones that have the most to gain from Inchin changing out of the Baron's hands. Well, I suppose Duran doesn't have monetary gain, but he's mates with Patch.
Oh well, one problem at a time

The Baron has money...We have mercenaries. Recovering the planet using force may be something we could consider but it would need the Baron alive.
Indeed without the Baron's close oversight, the port construction may be considerably advanced in the interim getting him an even more valuable asset.

The Baron has no money, unless the SuSAG sale goes ahead.
Even if he did, Frank isn't interested in fighting to get the place back if the coalition get it.

Baron (Kit privately thinks it is his name, not a title) is badly over extended financially and always comes up with an reason to not pay people for their services.

And I bet none of those reasons includes "Because I'm an incompetent idiot with no financial nous"

It seems the Baron has grown more eccentric over the years and I wonder if that's natural or has been helped along by the Swordies and a very long term plan

"Incompetent murderous idiot despot" is the main reason Frank wouldn't work for him, having no money is second by a hairs bredth.

Earlier there was talk of Guards who weren't really infantry trained. As well as wounded. Any chance Jakob can commendeer them for med teams, like he did on Collace?
I find humor, and pleasure, in Jakob's military mindset creating a highly effective Rescue Team and Medical Unit. While Medic-1 and Int-C make him useful, he realizes how far he is from being a real doctor.

Yes, there are guard "dismounted" tankers, techs and mechanics who would much rather be stretcher bearers than infantry!
All they need to motivation from an officer - Jakob can do that!
