Sorry for the lack of an update guys. My grandfather passed away after a month of severe illness, may he rest in peace. I'll try to do an update tonight, and in any case I won't be very active until after the funeral on Tuesday. But stay tuned...

Thanks for the condolences, everyone. Really appreciate it. My grandpa was the best man I've ever known. A big loss, but all went well, and the family is dealing... :)

It's going to take me a day or two more to regroup, mostly because now my wife and a couple of the kids have come down with the stomach yucks. Go figure, right? I've got to hit the hay tonight so I can take care of everyone, but I'll plan to restart by Sunday at the latest. Again, thanks so much for the thoughts and for your patience...

I suppose the back of the symbol could be polished to that degree, if the silver were pure enough? A rear-view turtle mirror. Objects in mirror may be closer than they appear? ;)

All - I'm still here. Apologies was unexpectedly without internet for the last week. Playing catch-up so Swil just following you around dumbly at the moment! Think we should investigate the boulder shouldn't we?

Glad you're still with us, saalaria. :D I have to admit I was getting just the tiniest bit worried about you...

Say, how did playing d&d with your kids turn out?

Grognardsw wrote:"Friend Stonejuz, I've not the underground experience you have as a dwarf, so I don't know the creature you mention," says Thurinor. "But I share concern of dangers in this cavern."

If there are loose stones about the floor around them, Thurinor will pick up a handful and throw them into the cavern ahead to see if that may draw out hidden danger.
Thats the one :o I knew Id seen em somewhere....I guess I should have rolled to....but....fun stuff.

Good thanks Rag - a couple of sessions of Dagger using the Mentzer Basic set castle/dungeon as the basis. Havent had a chance for a while due to moving house and going on holiday for a week but we played some Dungeon recently to keep it going!

We should go back to it over Christmas I expect.

That's cool about playing Dagger and using the Mentzer intro adventure, saalaria. Great choice. I've regretted not running my kids through that one. Maybe as the two younger ones start playing...

Ston, on the lurker thing, no sweat. And it's fine how you handled it too, Grog. I'm not too picky on that, because we've all been around the game enough that I'm pretty sure half the time we all think of the same possible group of monsters that could pop out. As long as you work it into your character and do some role play, it's cool with me. What's the fun of being an adventurer if you can't "know" a few things, right?

Now I have to tell you all, my 6yo was running his game the other night and put his sisters and me through this sequence where we were fighting goblins that we soon discovered had buttons on their necks. Crack the goblin/robot open and it gives you an electric jolt, fries the end of your staff, that kind of thing. So we decide to grab one and hit the button to turn it off. Nope--it self-destructs in your lap! So my daughter decides to try to hit the button but shove the goblin/robot at the others to blow them all up. It works. Then random explosions start happening, walls and ceilings are coming down. We can't get out of this dungeon we're in, and it's coming down on our heads. We're all like, he's gonna kill us! Then my son says, "You wake up. It was a dream. You're still in the village." He's a little dickens of a DM, gotta say...
