What would YOU like to play or run? (Interest Catch-all)

A rules lite game sounds like fun, I'll wait for the gm to see if there is room.
A third player could make the game better. Please join.

First step is to post a character in the Characters thread. Then I'll bring you in somehow.

I think I would be interested in running a D&D 5e game - still feel I would like to get to (better) know the system, and running it might be a good way to go about it. Something really simple - Core rules and classes only. Maybe pregens even, if there are Core ones.

Completely railroad-y and episodic to keep it even simpler. Along the lines of 'you were called to do this ands that, you traveled x days and now you are at the so and so place. Go!'. Perhaps with some downtime between 'adventures'.

Maybe start off with only the 5e Basic Rules like Eris did here. He's using the Hardcore rules as well but you don't have to, just use the free Basic Rules.

I have definitely got my eye on the Hardcore rules, but would like to try the 'standard' rules first, before making adjustments :)
Now the Basic Rules, those might be just perfect to start with - I will take a further look. Thanks!

On November 2nd I will be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.

Any thoughts or interests in a 1e D&D with Half-Orcs, Gnolls & Kobolds?
Interested! Heard a lot about A0, but never had a chance to play it. Now that we are talking about it. never played the Slavers series either :P
I think this must have some 5th ed D&D update. Certainly the original Slavery series set in Highport began life as a tournament game with a load of pre-generated characters. I would imagine Eljayess, Blodgett & co' have been updated to relevant 5th ed class tropes
too.

A user by the name of Luz wrote nice reviews on these two modules over on Cannonfire:

Sequels
In his 'Highport' review, Luz also mentioned, quote:
The Last Slavelord in Dungeon Magazine #215 serves as a direct sequel (or perhaps an encore) to the original series...
That issue of Dungeon Magazine is available on DriveThruRPG, and is currently on sale for $2.99:

Then, unofficially, Carlos of CASL Entertainment has continued the A-series with A5-A10*:

A5 - Kill Marquessa! (print, pdf)

A8 - From Dark Roses, Black Thorns Grow (print, pdf)

*A10 - Crescendo & Coda
This module marks the finale of CASL Entertainment's continuation of the A-series of modules, which was playtested at the most recent GaryCon a few months ago (2024, March), and should officially be released shortly.

Thanks Dave! I forgot about those but that did remind me of Pacesetter's A1: Path of the Slave Masters:
A1 Path of the Slave Masters is the first adventure in a four-part series. However, each adventure can be played separately and independent of the series. This series is designed, in general, as a sequel to TSR’s iconic Slave Lord series of modules. These adventures begin approximately 30 years after the original Slave Lords were defeated. It is not necessary to have played, or read, the original Slave Lord series to play this series.

Bill does not currently have it for sale, but maybe one day he will again...

Thanks for all this information and links.

I did read through Danger in Darkshelf & Lowdown in Highport, thinking of possible campaign scenarios but with humanoid characters.

Not sure how feasible that might be. But certainly any new game around the Slavers theme will pique a lot of interest.

Great links ybn1197 & DMW71

I had a look through and must say, for fun and Magnificent Seven cross-over, playing as a group of Gnomish Monks in the In Gnomine Septem and other GaryCon tournament games, written by Carlos CASL Entertainment looks very good.

Who would be up for running one of those?

And this time for good. Looking for a new PbP game that will last. Had a couple of experiences elsewhere that petered out way too soon.

I am interested primarily in ...
1e/OSRIC
B/X, BECMI, or equivalent clone
3e if played without all the splatbooks and run with an old-school mindset
Gamma World/Post Apoc
Western game

Type of game (primarily)
Pulpy adventure
Sandbox
Kill the monsters and take their stuff
Dungeon/Megadungeon
Kill the monsters. Take their stuff

Good to see you man!
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.
