Lerrick stops her attempt to talk to the natives and watches intently at what the natives are trying to do with Light Finger.

Alordan slows to a jog, then a walk, then heads back to the camp before he can't at all - he is completely spent. He walks back and looks around at the fires and the absolutely ridiculous turn of events. He thanks any native he passes for saving their lives, even if they don't understand him. Hopefully his body language is enough to convey his gratitude.

He tries to find and gather the group back together and see what the next steps are. There is bound to be more trouble.... and soon.

“Do you think they’re going to baby-bird him, Lerrick? Hopefully this is some sort of healing ritual? Hmmm.” says Chauncey. Watching the natives work, he quickly becomes impatient, however - assuming they do not bodily prevent him, and since they are being ignored he assumes they will not, he will approach the most important looking native attending to Lightfinger and quietly cast Comprehend Languages touching him lightly on the shoulder. Once this is done he will ask: “Can you restore life to our companion, sir? And, incidentally, does it involve baby-birding? I ask out of curiosity.”

Alordan eventually gives up the chase, as do a few of the natives. While he is on his way back towards the others, he is accosted by the returning tribesmen. They aggressively grab him by his arms, leading him back towards the camp in a less than friendly manner. They shout out more of their gibberish at him and to each other, but the ranger doesn't understand any of it. In his weakened condition, he decides to just go with the flow and let them lead him along back into the camp where everything can get sorted out.

More natives come out from their hiding places in the jungle and soon the clearing has several of them rushing around, trying to help the fallen members of their tribe.

Talaris and Luther are aggressively pushed away from any of the fallen natives if they try to help, apparently still not trusted enough to aid the victims. Monocar continues moving towards the cave in the tall black cliff wall. With the fires starting to all die down now, the light around the clearing is beginning to succumb to the natural darkness of the night sky again. He calls out for Bonnie, but he gets no answer in return from the black opening.

Lerrick and Chauncey watch the natives proceedings with Lightfinger rather closely, trusting that these strange looking humans are actually helping him. As the wizard approaches, they call out for another to join them and a new native enters into the mix. This one seems to be a person of great importance.

The shaman begins to chant and play his drum, dancing around the other natives still tending to the Halfling. The first man spits out what he was chewing on and starts rubbing the substance all over the thief's face and mouth as the others start to chant along.

Chauncey risks casting a spell, forgetting what these poor people have just been through. As soon as he starts chanting and gesticulating, he is tackled to the ground for his efforts by 2 nearby natives. They seem to have had enough of white skinned wizards and their evil incantations to last them a lifetime. He isn't injured by them, but he is forcefully detained.

After a few more moments of this, Lightfinger slowly opens his eyes and sucks in a deep breath of air, coughing it back out with some smoke instantaneously. When the natives see that little Arte has been revived, they all cheer loudly and hop around the little thief in some strange dance ritual. Then two of the natives pick him up from the ground and put them reverently upon their shoulders as they slowly start to walk him around the cheering camp. Eventually, everyone at the camp kneels down on the ground and bow their heads in Lightfingers direction.

Luther

Luther heads back to where the locals are working on Lightfinger. After the first time he's herded away from the free men, he nods and leaves them alone. If he finds a wounded slaver/smuggler, he'll end them with a quick thrust of his sword.

From under the dog-pile Chauncey shouts, “Unhand me, you ungrateful louts! Your behavior is random and nonsensical! You saw me blast your captors to bits and this is how I am treated?”

Lerrick looks at amazement what just to place before her eyes. What...just...happened? She then snaps out of her trance to see the magic user wrestling with two of the natives. She quickly reacts by getting up and helping the magic user to his feet. Easy Chauncey...take a deep relaxing breath. .

The common natives rise again and attempt to put out the remaining fires, gathering up river water in anything that will carry water. The fighter types all gather around Chauncey, Alordan, Lerrick, and Luther as Lightfinger is being presented to the crowd. All of the natives give reverence to Lightfinger, but the others aren't treated nearly as well, now seemingly being grouped together for some purpose.

Monocar ignores all of these happenings, still content that he is going to rescue Bonnie so she falls in love with him or something. He runs from the cave to find a burning stick to use as a torch. The natives seem to give the still huge naked human a wide berth, not sure about how stable the man may be. When he gets back to the cave with his torch, he finds it to be fairly empty. Only a few crates and other items are scattered about in there. No signs of Bonnie or any of the others are present.

Lightfinger gets traipsed around the crowd on the natives shoulders even more as the others are huddled together where they stand. The common natives continue to cheer and jump around the thief, shouting out words that none of you can understand. The native fighters aren't being aggressive with any of you, but they seem to be trying to push everyone except Lightfinger over towards the cave that Monocar is currently infatuated with.

Luther

Luther stumbles a bit as he walks- the adrenaline rush is burnt out, and he's exhausted.

Lightfinger's the hero, 'cuz he got 'em free. I just hope the rest of us aren't gonna be treated like villains.

He coughs and looks around at his associates. Everyone, I'm sorry. I kicked this attack off too soon, and got a lot of us wounded that shouldn't have been. I guess I thought I was playin' Guards and Raiders, like when we were kids.

Chauncey pouts openly, arms crossed. Irate at the natives' ungrateful attitude, he refuses to budge unless forced to move. "King Lightfinger, your highness, perhaps you could indicate to them that we are your friends?" he says.

Lightfinger is still groggy.

Oh, ow, my everything hurts, He groans as the natives bounce him around, still not certain what exactly is happening.
"King Lightfinger, your highness, perhaps you could indicate to them that we are your friends?"
Wha... Clancey? What in the Shire's shuck goes on here? Were we captured by the slavers? No, wait, captured by the natives? But why, we were..? oh. OH! PutmedownputmeDOWN! This will not do! I need to be still, just for a moment, I fear I'll chuck up on all of you! T'would be a bad omen, a very disgusting bad omen! Down, I say, down! He points to the ground repeatedly, hoping sign language does the trick. Don't hurt them! He then points to his party, broken, bruised and bloody, Don't hurt them! Well, him maybe just a little... No, don't hurt ANY of them, they're with me! He again points to the party, then to himself again and again.

The late night clean-up of the camp by the natives continues as Monocar disappears into the dark cave in the cliff wall.

While Lightfinger tries to communicate with his new followers, the rest of the group is rounded up and forced to move towards the cave. The fighters are so exhausted that they don't worry about putting up a fight over the misunderstanding. They hope the Halfling can eventually make some sense of all of this. Chauncey is forcefully pushed backwards towards the cave when he refuses to budge, the others go a bit more freely.

When the natives see that Lightfinger is trying to tell them something, they set him back down and listen intently. Unfortunately, they don't understand a word of what he says. The important looking native with the drum comes in to assist, bending down to listen to the Halfling carefully. He eventually speaks in a very broken common.

"Kelief! Frien!"

"Kelief help we! Now likkle ooman help we! Likkle ooman now we frien!"

He points to the others as they are ushered towards the cave.

"Dem frien wit likkle ooman?"

Alordan files along without putting up any fight. He doesn't have the strength to do much. For the moment, he is still relieved at their apparent rescue by the natives.

Lightfinger smiles weakly.

Friend, yes! His eyes grow wide with relief, They are also my friends! Did you not see us defeat the evil slavers? This was our purpose here, for we believe slavery is evil. He pauses a moment. You remind me of... Do you know a gentleman named Randall?

About ready to fall over from the exhausting events of the last 2 days, the group is easily ushered to the cave mouth in the cliff wall with little opposition.

Lightfinger continues trying to reason with the apparent chief of these strange natives. They also make their way towards the cave opening, hoping to resolve these differences. The chieftain doesn't understand much of what the thief says, but he does apparently understand the word friend.

"Frien! Frien! Frien!" is all he continues to say, not sure what to do about the current language barrier. Once all of the "friends" gather in front of the cave to discuss how to further this budding friendship, they see a growing light start coming from the interior of the cave.

When the group and the natives peer into the glowing cave, they spot the gigantic Monocar in there, starting a broken crate on fire and tearing into another wooden crate with his sword. The natives don't seem too impressed with this less than friendly gesture.

Luther

Luther can see that this could turn bad in a hurry. Moving deliberately, he places his weapons on the cave floor. He then stands and faces the natives, hands spread and empty. We want to be your friends!
