Yes. You expect two more floors.

Frowning as he does so, and using the hem of his sleeves so he doesn't have to physically touch it, Earc retrieves the book bound in human skin. "I'll properly dispose of this," he tells the others, stowing it away in his bag.

Then he searches the goblin shaman for anything of value and examines the papers to see if any of them hold interest.

"Maybe someone should search those piles of goods for anything of value, as well..."

Earc is spending a turn searching the room. Olaf is charging upstairs. Does that mean Olaf is leaving Earc behind? Or does Olaf "leading the way" imply he stops if nobody follows?

What does Halfpint do?

I mentioned before that Olaf has plenty of rounds of giant strength but not many turns. Let’s press the fight and look through stuff when we’re done.

Earc at least packs the spellbook up and then shoulders his pack again.

"We are almost completely out of spells for the day, including healing aid from our two clerics, and we have no idea how many goblins remain in the tower. Could be a dozen... could be three dozen... we had no accurate account for total numbers. It might be better to either hole up somewhere and rest or gather up the loot we've left in rooms below and rest in the stables for the night instead of pushing forward. At full strength, with the right spells prepared, we should be able to finish clearing out the tower. Out of spells and injured? Our chances are significantly diminished..."

Olaf is giant-strong, at full health, and extremely difficult for any normal goblin to hit. Earc has a magic missile left for any spell casters. If we try to rest, the goblins will reinforce. I think our best move is to press on.

What does Halfpint do?
Halfpint will follow the lead block.

You DID say that. Earc didn't listen. :) Given that, do you continue up with Halfpint, Funil, and Drunil at your back? Or do you wait?

Olaf will wait one turn for Earc to search for anything that would be helpful in assaulting the upper floors (and possibly for Halfpint to scout again).

Earc shrugs and says, ”Alright. Let’s just move on.”

He follows the fighters up the stairs to the next level.

Funil, Drunil, Steve, and the clerics help Earc do a quick search (one turn) of the shaman's chamber. Earc takes the goblin spellbook and then also finds Carchannoi's elvish spellbook. He sees four empty cases of southern magical inks; there's about a case-worth of inks scattered about the table which could be collected and taken later.

Funil finds a solid-looking dwarven warhammer which has resisted the tarnishing of time and a sturdy metal round-shield emblazoned with a raven in flight, small rubies as its red eyes. Both odd items for the sorcerer's stash.

Halfpint scouts carefully, seeing fifteen goblins in the chamber above, which appears to be barracks with a dozen disheveled dwarven bunkbeds. The stairs then continue up to the top chamber, beyond.

Olaf is ready to lead the charge.

(Actions, round 1!)

Date: 11:32am, 02 August 2021
Effects: Continual light, Invisible (Earc), Olaf's Giant Strength (until 12:20pm)
Injuries: Earc (minorly wounded), Florian (minorly wounded), Halfpint (minorly wounded), Hereward (minorly wound), Funil (superficially wounded)

Olaf picks up a table, runs upstairs with the table in front of him, and throws the table at the densest clump of goblins he can see.

Table-throwing! [1d20+1] = 20+1 = 21

Okay, so a dwarf picking up a table might not be strictly possible depending on the size of the table, but with that roll, I hope he can do something along the lines described.

Halfpint continues her missiled assault, following the massive dwarf-sized table toss.

Shortbow (Thac0 16) [1d20+3] = 13+3 = 16; [1d6+1] = 2+1 = 3

OOC: I'll let that stand...

Earc stows the elf's spellbook, as well, and follows the fighters up the stairs. He stays out of the fight, at first, staying hidden (hopefully) on the stairs, to avoid becoming a pin cushion of goblin arrows.

Running up the stairs at a charge and throwing a table certainly catches the goblins off-guard. The table careens into the largest group of goblin bowmen, knocking nine of them unconscious like a set of bowling pins. (Critical hit: special effect) Halfpint's arrow them picks off a keen-eyed goblin standing to the side before Funil and Drunil charge in with a battlecry, swinging their swords. Funil's sword cleaves through two goblins like he's harvesting wheat (Critical hit: cleave) while Drunil's blade takes down a third goblin (-6). Steve runs in, but finds the goblins already all incapacitated by the vanguard dwarves, the last two goblins fleeing up the stairwell to the top floor and screaming for their lives.

You estimate that the top floor of the tower is now above you, described as the audience chamber of Guhra.

Olaf resists the urge to charge headlong upstairs long enough for Halfpint to scout once again, if she will.

That was fun. :D

Halfpint scouts once again, starting to get delusional about how easy this fighting life can be.

(edit, not really, she takes her job seriously)

Seeing a way of being useful, Earc draws his sword and uses it to permanently silence any of the goblins that have been knocked unconscious.
