Walter was about to call off Garvin’s drama until Capt Crunch called Treegarden a bitch and said she deserved how he treated her. Oh, now he’s done for…
”You lousy asshole, Gar! I wanted my turn at him! You may have just ruined that. You damn well better resuscitate him! I want to go my round!”. And he shoves the excrement smelly con man into the corner with a drain.
”You sit quiet, don’t move and wait your turn. We’ll clean up your excrement easier with that drain there. After what you just said about one of my favorite Imperial officers, we’re going to make this last a good long time…and enjoy it too!
This is the common area. No drain. And the prisoner is out cold, so he missed everything you said. He's also smelling up the place.

"F--k he really seems to be only a ass."
Arkar checks to make sure he's still alive and picks him up and gives him to the doc bot.
Arkar turns on the level one restraints on Nirkha.
"Docbot, keep him restrained and partially sedated assuming his allergy screening works out."
Turning.
"So Garvin, that was quick, I was not even not that nice to him. There's still more he knows, we got a week. What's you idea?"
Arkar

Oh, I missed that about him crapping and passing out. So Nirkha didn't even make it into the med bay?
Un-regard that soliloquy.
He’ll say: ”Dang, I wish Aster was up on Neuro Link with the rest of us. If anyone’s wondering, everything he’s said, he believes…near as I can tell. And I really want to tweak his attitude! Maybe we should learn more about his long con and discredit that. I think Aster needs to lead the next steps. Dang, he stinks!
Hey, I wonder how far back those surgical drugs can make someone forget. Now that we know what he is, would be cool to reset and take a different tack. Instead, we need to get him to confess to the bribery of the COMO so Treegarden has probable cause to detain him as part of the official investigation. Then they can prosecute him for that and he’ll be discredited. Maybe a little prison time will humble him a little. Accuse him of conspiracy in Treegarden’s murder attempt but get him to confess to the bribery…and pharmaceutical ly wiping his memory of the past 15 minutes.is that possible?

Garvin nods at Arkar and Walt "Nice work an' always a pleasure". He then says "Yeah - he's just a con artist but nasty with it. The autodoc can keep 'im sedated while we plan on as needs be. If Bilis re-makes his clothes then there'll be no physical evidence of his recent "hallucination".
He addresses the company using standard intercomm stating "We can 'ave a rummage about in is 'ead for any other nonsense 'e might 'ave floatin' about in there but I think we've likely proved that 'e's just an arse an' not a spy. Mind you that's actually his defence team's job. If Omicron or the Navy use the surveillance evidence of his active conspiracy with an enemy agent - laughin' an' jokin' with the bloke 'oo moments later put a knife in Madam Treegarden then I'd say 'e's got issues there. Added to that there's direct evidence that he bribed a Navy officer for specific information about the target of that Zhodani assassination. Legally I'd say 'e's got problems the least of which will be gettin' locked away while an investigation runs its course - an' that's if these things actually go to trial".
"Likewise if 'e sues us the first thing 'e'll claim is I battered his mate the assassin to death yet the corpse we 'and over to the Imperial authorities in Glisten will 'ave no such injuries an' be physical proof that the bloke's a complete an' utter liar".
"As for where we are now Arkar could still go at 'im. Maybe get some dirt about 'is swindlin' activity that we can 'old over 'im but it looks like we might 'ave ruled 'im out of the big picture. That means that Zhodani agents are either actively interested in Ancient hunting or just in assassinating senior Omicron personnel. I think we need a word from Madam Treegarden to get 'er side of the story an' 'er take on the Captain of Brown 'ere".

Maybe we should learn more about his long con and discredit that. I think Aster needs to lead the next steps. Dang, he stinks!
Hey, I wonder how far back those surgical drugs can make someone forget. Now that we know what he is, would be cool to reset and take a different tack.
Aster will come out of the other area and hear that. She scrunches up her face.
"He does stink. We should hose him down before we put him back in his cell."
She looks at Garvin.
"Fabricating a dead body is creepy. Nice touch. I suspect Omicron will have to pay him off for the treatment, but at least we know he isn't a spy, just a useful idiot. Leave him be. At this point, we know what we need to know. Anything more is just tormenting him. I'd rather charge him with enticing others to leak Imperial secrets. Pinning down that he leaked them might be more challenging, but that's possible, too.
"Now, what was that about Doctor Metz's package? Garvin was talking about it admiringly, so I should learn more." From the twitch of her eyebrow, she had chosen her words carefully.
Metz will carefully explain the consolidated augmentation package he put together (and that everyone has), the anagathic augment, and the ability to make a pattern of her with intact memories and continually update it in case she is killed. She listens closely, her eyes widening at times, and then asks pointed questions to elicit more details.
Once he has finished, she sits back in her chair and shakes her head.
"Just when I think you can't surprise me anymore, you trot out something else astonishing. Of course I want something like that. Who wouldn't? How would revivification work when I'm no longer with you? You have the only hardware that can do this."
"I intend to open an office in Glisten, preferably where we have our corporate offices. We will be setting up a merchant business that will have brokerages all over the Spinward Marches, and one of the deconstructor/fabrication units can go in each. Your data would stay at Glisten, and we'd need proof of death to bring you back. This isn't going to be advertised as I suspect that it would cause an uproar, but for you and any other friends, we can make it happen. The continuous backup augment will update the computer via occasional encrypted updates, but as long as the augment itself can be recovered, it will have everything even if the computer is missing something. The greatest risk is that you go off on a mission lasting weeks or months and the augment is unrecoverable. If so, you'll have a gap in your memories, but you'll still be alive."
"That is utterly astonishing. You came up with this all on your own?"
He smiled.
"Mostly, but I had help from Bilis in refining the idea and making it much more effective."
Aster turned to Bilis.
"We haven't met, so you must be new. I'm Aster Treegarden."
"I'm Bilis," the blonde woman said.
"Do you have a last name?" Aster asked after a few moments.
"Ah. Yes, of course. Antigo. Bilis Antigo."
Aster continues to look at her for a few more seconds.
"You're a digital entity like Roscoe, aren't you?"
"I am. Sorry. I'm new at this."
She looked back at Metz.
"Making a hot woman for yourself, Doctor? Smells desperate. You can manage on your own."
He cleared his throat uncomfortably.
"It seemed like a good idea at the time. I assure you I am not pressuring Bilis in any way. My friends wouldn't allow it, even if I was inclined to do so."
Aster will look at the rest of you. Hearing no disagreement, she lets it go.
"If you want to create your own lab assistant, that's your business. If you wanted to sleep with her, so is that. Odd as it would be."
Bilis frowned.
"Is resting together a cultural taboo?"
"I meant having sex."
Bilis blinked rapidly.
"I am allowed to have sex with Doctor Metz? That sounds very enticing. I don't know what that means, but I will research it." She looks at Metz with a calculating, assessing expression.
"Anyway," Metz said desperately,
"I would recommend you heal up for a few more days to allow your body to settle back into normalcy. At that point, we can do the procedure. It only takes a few minutes."
"It's best we focus on the prisoner and any unfinished business first," she agreed.
"If you don't mind, I still feel beat. Garvin, may I use your bed? After the meal, I'm feeling run down."
The final actions with the prisoner can be played out. Also, Jaelah will get the autopsy results from the Zhodini assassin. His brain is filled with ruptured blood vessels. He died from them instantly.
Spicoli can't get into his hardware on the first of second pass. It is heavily protected. It will take a day or two for him to crack the protections and get in. Even then, everything is heavily encrypted. It will take even more time to decipher it all.
Any other actions during jump? If so, we'll wrap them up here and I'll start a new topic for the arrival in Glisten.

"The Zhodini are always interested in Ancients artefacts," she said.
"It has to do with their openly accepting psionics. They have a belief that they are the closest humans to the Ancients and their heirs. Any find will be of interest. If word gets out about exactly what was located, that might spark a lot more interest and potentially ignite some serious conflict. Hopefully not all out war, but that idiot made that much more likely. That's another reason we need to get word to your potential patron as soon as possible. Minutes might not matter, but weeks or months could."

Walt-
”Well how many of your people know the nature of these artifacts?
By the way, I really like the idea of Bills-made clothing, the original assassin body refuting his wild tale on arrival in Glisten (if the drugs can’t induce recent memory loss). That should establish him as a nut case. Plus the surveillance footage of Capt Crunch and hopefully a confession on the part of the COMO providing grounds for a prosecution on corruption charges giving him a little convict time. I’d feel better though with a confession before Treegarden. But that’s her call at this point.
Maybe, between both, he gets off on an insanity plea. But that discredits him too.”

"Well, that was graphic and educational. I think we might get sued."
Jaelah rolls her eyes.
"I would have warned you that his veneer of civility is thin in places. Not that it's a bad thing."

It's... something. It's... something. Something guaranteed to make a feminist swallow her tongue.
