Re: Founding Clifftown
Elnaerel
"That's... commendable and honourable. Debilitating those dwarves and, at the same time, liberating those lizards from them and helping these people." She finds herself leaning slightly towards the paladin and quickly straightens herself again, her embarrassment obvious. She clears her throat. "Maybe we should recruit some volunteers, as it is a dangerous mission. Before we leave I would like to go back to town to buy a new morningstar, since mine was lost in battle against a strange sticky mummy... I will be going with two dear friends of mine. Would you care to accompany me too? My vows to... Ehlonna, as you humans know the Lady of the Forest, prohibits me to handle any weapon that isn't blunt, you know?"
Who would like to join Elnaerel and Narramore in a lizard rescue mission? There will be combat and glory against evil dwarves.

I liked the idea of combining the groups when they head out in the morning.
If that plan is still viable, I will coordinate the members and get something started shortly.

Feanol
Our retrieval mission would probably be the night before the others leave. As we are wanting to do some scouting and avoid any encounter with Dwarves if possible.

I still like the idea, but no one has said anything in the subject. I would like to buy a morningstar for Elnaerel (if there is one to be bought). With the club she has a penalty to attack. She also needs to have her daily spells back.
Ahlmzhad, the others are leaving tomorrow, so unless you want to leave today... I'm not willing, for the reasons mentioned above

Feel free to place Amun in any group that is sorta lv1-3 and in need of a fierce barbarian

Re: Founding Clifftown
Clifftown Grows
The day eventually turns into night and when the townies look around at their progress, they can take pride in the fact that they got so much done in one day of work. Enough food is scavenged in this new unharvested area for everyone to eat their fill with some left over. There are enough sleeping structures built to accommodate everyone present, and the cave acts as a good overflow for the hardier campers. Though the arrangements aren't perfect for any comforts such as spell sharing, the casters are comfortable enough to replenish their spells. With all of the unused healing available, any member of Clifftown who was injured is magically healed before they rest, bringing everyone up to full health once the new day begins.
The unseen Grimm keeps an eye on Wes, Chauncey, and Darklin as they prepare to set out to spy on the dwarven mine area, trying not to let anyone trip over him as he gets used to his current invisibility.
Luther gathers together Amun, Wake, and The Knife to discuss their plans to investigate the rest of the area between the river and the cliffs.
Sir Narramore expresses interest in finding the herd of giant lizards west of Beachtown so that some of them may be sequestered to aid in town projects or to be used as mounts for his future lizard mounted cavalry squad. The newly bedazzled Elnaerel finds that to be an excellent idea, willing to follow the handsome paladin anywhere he goes from now on. She believes she could talk the hunk of a human into stopping at Beachtown along the way to see if the Hi-Lo carries any morningstars she could purchase.
Keyon suggests that a small group could accompany him to the area on the beach where the sea monster has taken up residence in a former sea scrag's underwater cave.
Perhaps a few of these groups could be combined on their initial leg of the journey?
The Princess and Liam seem content to stay here with Marge and the others to coordinate the towns founding, doing everything they can to expediate the progress.
It seems that Keg and Feanol have yet to express their desire to join a group. (unless I missed something)
If the three groups of Grim, Keyon, and Narramore want to travel together up the beach, that will work for me. If you'd rather set out on your own, go for it.
Once I get word that this arrangement looks good to everyone, I will start creating new mission threads so we can get the action moving again.

Luther
Luther has been watching the results of the magical cards, his face deeply knotted in a frown. Before the cards are stowed, he sighs.
Better a brave fool than a coward. He draws from the deck

Re: Founding Clifftown
Luther gets extremely nervous when he looks at the ivory plaque in his hand. For a moment he looks as if he might pass out. His eyes roll back into his head and he starts mumbling incoherently, speaking dark words that none should ever hear.
He eventually shakes his head back and forth to clear the cobwebs, but the look of concern on his face if obvious to anyone nearby.
He suffers no further ill effects from his draw.
I will explain this in your private thread and let you decide if you want to speak of it to anyone.

The Princess
"Fascinating. Simply incredible. These plaques seem to be generating wish-level effects." She turns to Luther. "A goose? It seemed diabolical, you were chanting words that I've only heard in warnings from my teachers. Perhaps you should rest a bit and gather yourself. We can have a cleric take a look at you."
The Princess smiles warmly at Elnaerel's actions and addresses Sir Narramore. "It appears her plaque has found you in the warmest regards. Do me a favor and look after her, will you?"
"We need to continue work on this outpost, so I will stay here and help where I can. Hopefully, when you all return, things will be much improved."

Keyon
The pirate folds his arms across his chest and pulls a sly grin at Narramore and Elnaerel. He chuckles to himself and moves toward the carpet.
Upon Luther's odd spiritual moment, he pauses and sends the hardened ranger a brief, questioning glance. Apparently satisfied with Luther's explanation, Keyon nods once and continues on his way.
"I'm going to Beachtown. Anyone coming with me, climb on. With luck, we can make it there and back with time to rest before we leave tomorrow."
He glances at the others. "Moving up the beach together is fine, too."

Elnaerel
"I'm coming with you!" says Elnaerel in a weird good mood. "Going there together with the carpet seems more practical, Keyon. You coming too, Sir William? It's a unique experience, let me tell you." The cleric changes her "explosion" of good humor and tries to control herself. A bit of flush again makes evident that she feels embarassed by her sudden change of behavior.

Feanol
Climbing on to join Keyon before his announcement she waits to see if Elnaerel can get here newly found paramour to join them. Whispering to Keyon "and don't let it give you any ideas".

Re: Founding Clifftown
Would there be room for the knight, too, or would we need to stick with three people and Feanol's trunk?

Keg looks down at the sack of gold and his greedy eyes go wide. Oh by the Gods! YES! HAHAHA!!!................................ Well Crap!
What am I going to do with this out here?! Figures... I strike it rich... and it's in the one place I can't spend it...
Keg
Hearing there is a group looking to explore north of here, he takes that as a simple enough task that could use some muscle. Oi! I'll come along and help. We need to make sure this area is secure before we push... that way... he feels like he would have know something about this before now...

Re: Founding Clifftown
Since you are only planning on retrieving a few things, and there shouldnt be any issues along the way, I will allow 4 people and the extra weight of the items on this trip only! But mostly just because I want to get these missions rolling!

The double date of Keyon and Feanol, with Narraamore and Elnaerel holding hands on the back of the pirates magic carpet, sets out towards Beachtown.
Since they are just planning on zipping in and zipping out, does anyone else want anything brought back? I think TK had a request for a couple of things, but was there anything else I missed?

Keg opens his lumpy sack, finding it filled with sparkling gems and jewels of all kinds. He has no idea what they could be worth, but it is obviously a LOT. Knowing little about gems himself, there is another strange oddity in the sack along with the precious stones. Pulling it from the bag, he finds a white colored solid stone sphere about the size of a human fist.
The fighter hears about the mission Luther wants to head that will be exploring the area between the river and the cliffs. If he feels a bit of familiarity with the job, it is probably because he himself led another group that did the same exact thing recently. viewtopic.php?p=482952#p482952
