Sven replies to the barkeep.

"Sounds like a good place to avoid then. Just as I suspected."

"I don't know if Orgoth paid you in advance for our room, but we would like to keep the same one for a few more days, if that is possible."

"Here is a little something for rent. Any leftovers can be split up between your wonderful staff, good sir."

I haven't been paying attention to room and food costs since we returned, so Sven will drop 20 gold coins onto the bar, hoping that is enough for rent and a good tip for the housekeepers and waitresses.

Dalin evening of May 14th 'the Diggler' not his preferred nickname but one none the less that he earned at the Foul Pheasant. Celebrates the recent endeavor. "I don't know about any rumors but I assure you I am not highwayman I'm a dwarf that lucks into situations. Not all luck is good." he says to whomever is spreading these rumors. To those that were on the last adventure "Glad our losses were minimal this time."

Gerdal pays for this week and two more weeks to keep her mule in the stables.

She addresses the stable crew.

"Here you go, buy somehting for yourself as well and keep her safe until my return. How will I carry my trinkets and cooking equipment around if I dont have my mule right? And you know, no cooking means no cookies for the kids" she smiles.

She throws in another 14 sp for the stable boys/girls.

21x3+14=80 sp deducted

Fapp

Fapp sips his ale, thankful to be home in Helix. He has been thinking a lot lately about his interest in Barbarians and their lifestyles and

his new buddy Chewie. I won't get any more information sitting here in an Inn I suppose. Maybe I'll try to keep around Savant and

Dalin, they seem to have it all figured out on what to do. I may gain more knowledges with them that can help me in my pursuits!

The little Halfling, ever curious but not really caring what others think, turns to Dalin with a straight face.

"I thought your name was Dalin? Was I mistaken and if not, then why are you going by Diggler in here?"

He grins then says "are you like a really good digger, is that it? I am really glad to have met you lot. Have you another caper planned?

If so I am definitely interested in accompanying both you and Savant."

Fapp

"Ah I see," comes the fast reply from Fapp.

Rising from his seat, he nods at Dalin. "I shall be retiring for the evening. Do enjoy your time here, you may run into my parents who work here."

The little halfling nods at Dalin and exits the Inn, heading to home.

May 15th, next morning, Fapp's parents house.

Fapp rises and dresses, descending to the kitchen and making his breakfast.

Once done, he heads for the stables and Chewie and spends a good part of the morning with his buddy.

He will really take his time getting to know Chewie, Aware he is a wild animal means nothing to the valiant halfling.

He attempts to teach Chewie a few command words.

Stay, Attack(Which is probably really easy for Chewie) and Protect.

He will use treats and stern words to attempt to make Chewie understand.

If Fapp can take Chewie out for a spin/ride he shall , if not , no worries.

In the afternoon, Fapp will walk the streets of Helix, trying to see where or form who he can garner information about Barbarians.

May 16th 1066

Venwynn is eager to have a hot meal and beverage after a long journey. Passing through the door of the Brazen Strumpet, she scans the room and choses a

table close to the fireplace with a view of the whole area. She nods politely to the barkeep and sits. Feels good to be amongst people once again

she thinks to herself.

Venwynn is a half elf, sporting a green leather armor and brown leather bracers on each arm. A short bow hangs from her right shoulder and a scabbard sits at her left hip.

Red haired with pointy ears and piercing blue eyes, she appears confident, sure of herself. A backpack hangs from her left shoulder. The rest of her attire

is in earth tones. A quiver is strapped to her back

When she is approached by the waitress, she addresses her.

"Greetings, I would like a hot meal and hot beverage. If a room is available I would like to rent one, if possible. I am also looking for work

so if you can guide me in the right direction, that would be much appreciated."

The Brazen Strumpet Tavern

After a traumatic couple of days, Moriartus, Dougal, Fydmar & Cadeweed return to Helix. on May 12th 1066.

They book deluxe accommodation and rest up from injuries sustained, dedicating the next few days to research, selling items and planning next adventures.

They pay upkeep until May 17th.

During their stay, they meet other village patrons and fellow adventurers including a half-elven maiden with striking russet-red hair and the look of someone comfortable in the wilderness. Venwynn.

New in town, she has taken a room overnight and looks about for offers of work, scorning Bollo's offer of 'another hand washing dishes' not quite the labour she was hoping for.

continue here for role play 'meet and greet'.

Fydmar
Will have a drink with whichever of his companions wish to join him: A toast to a successful expedition (were alive & have more coin then when we started) Will deduct money depending on how many drinks he's buying. He will check out who looks "new". I'm confused as to the date as I see we came back the 12th, but there are several dates later than that in prior posts.

You left town on May 10th, returned May 12th. Five days stay to take you up to 17th has been paid.

While you were on expedition, other players come and go so the chronology follows that. In game terms it means that for the tavern posts dated 13-17th, you were in town but 'committed to other things' as an ooc action.

For example on May 14th, an expedition returned and some left of them (The Relic Raiders) immediately left the next day, May 15th. So in theory you could have joined that trip but that takes you out of synchronisation. In theory your character was present in town on those days but in practice, in December, the player was still adventuring the Barrow Mounds.

So I try to synchronise the calender and events so that time doesn't warp.

Hope that makes sense.

Venwynn

The red haired half elf rises from her seat and approaches Fydmar's table.

"Greetings, I'm Venwynn. Ranger and adventurer. I just got into town and have taken a room for the night. You lot look like adventurers.

Have you had any luck finding work? I've mostly patrolled the Forest where the Lady is and around those parts. Had a few run-ins with Kobolds

but nothing more than that. I know my way around out there if you are looking for an extra. Might I join you at the table?"

The rest of her gear is in her room right now.

Fydmar
Well met lass. You're welcome to pull up a seat. We have just returned from one expedition, but are always thinking of another. I'm thinking my companions feel as I do... that there are some... unresolved clues.
I'm not sure who else from the party is with me here, so will wait to see if anyone chimes in.

Venwynn

The red haired lass takes a seat and smiles. Once others pipe in, she will ask "Where have you been and what kind of clues do you think you missed, if you

don't mind me asking?"

Dougal

Dougal enters the Brazen Strumpet. Although he feels more comfortable in the wilderness than among walls, noise and people, some warm and meddling with the locals won't do any harm. He books one of the deluxe rooms, orders a stew (of the day) and a good pint of honey mead. Then he joins his companions at the table.

The ranger is a read haired and bearded man in his late thirties or early forties. His skin is tanned and weathered. He wears practical ropes for traveling and blending with the natural environment of temperate climates.

He says with his typical brogue accent: "Fydmar, that was a claus one, wasn't it?

My name's Dougal. A plehsuir tae meet ye."

Moriartus

After arranging accommodations upon their return, Moriartus quietly upgrades his room to Premier upkeep. Mostly for the complimentary wine and bubble baths, but also to maintain a more patricial public image.

-4gp, -10sp.

Moriartus is wearing a suit composed of slate colored trousers, white linen shirt and complemented with a copper buttoned vest. A brown leather coat sporting wide lapels and artful decorative engravings completes the ensemble. He leans heavily on a staff and his gait is characterized by a slight limp.

He joins Fydmar and Dougal at their table, nodding politely in greeting and orders his complimentary meal. Moriartus silently listens to the ongoing discussion, curious about the new arrival, before he introduces himself.

"Moriartus, at your service. Yes, as Mr. Fydmar alluded we have recently returned from exploring a barrow mound in the Moor. A near disaster with a mummy included. I suspect there is a hidden chamber behind the wards we encountered, but our only clue is a wall plaque with runic inscriptions I hope to translate."

"My interest in further exploration of the barrow is secondary to a personal obligation, though. I have been searching for a nest of harpies in the barrow meadow. A pair of mercenaries who I had employed, the Bennerjake twins, were charmed and enslaved by a Moor harpy and I intend to free them if it is within my power to do so."

Cadeweed

Cadeweed the short halfling makes his way to the Brazen Strumpet after his errands around town. Looking to see if anyone else is organizing another journey into the barrows.

Seeing his friends Moriartus, Fydmar and Dougal he will join the conversation.

Moriartus

"Mr. Fydmar, if we were to return with suitable equipment, supplies, and laborers, do you believe we could safely excavate Barrett's body, the mummy, and provide enough space to attempt breaking through the plaque, assuming there is indeed a hidden chamber beyond?"

Fenwynn

Curious, the red haired half elf perks up, adding "Pardon me for intruding, but I would be willing to join you gents and help. A Mummy sounds interesting

yet terrifying all at once. I've no experience with undead but know my way around and am positive I Kin help ye finish yer quest."

Turning to the serving wench she says "Next few rounds are on me, lass, keep 'em comin'"
