Ogre- I am trying to remember what was painted on the 2nd copper disk. I found the post for the first and noted the last, but not the 2nd. Br. Gilbert is trying to figure out what they may mean, and if their location has meaning.

Thanks!

But, if I tell you that, someone might figure out what the heck is going on around here.

Just kidding, here they are:

What is even worse, there are several rows of small pocks and alcoves in the face of the cliff walls behind the chained man. These alcoves are all filled with severed heads from all manner of creatures. Some of the heads look like they have been there a very long time, nothing more than white skulls, really. But others are far more fresh, for dead heads anyway. There are heads from creatures of the land and from the sea. Some are easy to identify, kobold, ogre, sahuagin, etc., but some of the others are so strange looking that you have no idea what monster they may have originated from. The closed eyes of the dozens of severed heads greet you in a macabre chorus of dead silence.
I immediately thought of the trophy room in "Predator II."

Thanks for the drawings of the disks. I am making my own map to refer to, offline.

So with the barracks being obliterated (nice job :)) how many bad guys do we think are left? A troupe of ogres, a wizard, that blue guy that came and went into the woods, any others?

The blue robed human left with the captain, on a raft, down the river, several hours ago. You haven't seen either man since.

The graceful figure who crossed the fields and disappeared into the jungle earlier in the day hasn't been seen since either.

I think just the wizard, ogres and whichever men occupied the free-standing huts? Also, we can't forget the other men at the far camp (a future concern)...

Oh, I see. The problem is....I would have no idea you were thinking that. I think it might be best for players to post a quick reply, even if they don't have something specific to add to the action.

Something simple like.....

"I will continue standing guard." would suffice.

That might take the guess work out of the equation, unless anyone has a better idea?

I thought DMs were mind readers? That isn't true!?!?

I got a huge grin when I read this one, but most of you don't have any idea why. (private thread joke)

Brother Gilbert does have 2 spells left. I looked at the stats wrong, possibly because I was posting late at night.

Today's humor:

During the large fires here, animal control rescued 180 chickens from a hoarder. I adopted several, including the two I picked up today. Their new names are...

Boris and Natasha :D

(You have moose and squirrel?)

When I first read that, I could have sworn it said...

"I adopted several, including the two I pickled up today."

I was wondering what pickled chicken must taste like.

In our second home, in Jamaica, we call our chickens Christmas and New Years. :D

When I worked out in Oman, I used to park my car under a tree outside my apartment building. It was constantly getting covered in horrible bird poop, which I could never understand because I never saw any birds flying around. It finally dawned on me one day that it was the chickens wandering around underfoot that were flying up into the tree and crapping on my car every night. Nobody ever told me chickens could fly

The second thing I learned about chickens, was that roosters crow all the time. An Aussie guy I worked with summed it up: "They teach city boys like us in school, that roosters crow at sunrise. The truth is, they crow ALL THE BLOODY TIME. It just happens to coincide with sunrise".

So far, Boris is being a quiet rooster, possibly because he is intimidated by most of the hens. Yes, some chickens can fly, not well, and not high, but enough to get up into a tree. The new birds are Cochin chickens; they are big, heavy, fluffy, and have feathers on their feet. Imagine a chicken walking around in oversized plush house slippers. That is how they move. Lots of flapping, but no altitude. :D

Is anyone else thinking, "As God is my witness, I thought Turkey's could fly!"
