Using the numbers on the map above, please let us know where Fuma climbed the wall. If he wants to cross the yard, please let us know his destination. Fuma has the poisoned blowgun darts. The weapons range is Fuma's Health ST (4) x the 3 lengths of the blowgun, so 12 yards. The top of the map has information on the scale in yards. If trying to move undetected, please roll a ninjutsu roll. Walking will have a +1 penalty to the roll, running +3. There are no modifiers for bright moonlight or stormy night tonight.
Jinsei is under the house a little east of 5. Minoru is above him on the roof, with visibility to the east, west and north. To also see south, he'd need to be at the east-west ridgepole at the center of the room's roof. Minoru's ninjutsu roll failed, so he was detected (probably by the dog).

Jinsei quietly goes over the wall, crosses the short way to the mansion's outer wall, and takes position under the master bedroom's floor. Minoru follows right after, crosses, and uses is climbing pole to ascend onto the mansion's roof. They see the dog trot past the round the corner of walls to the southeast great yard, looking in the direction where Minoru crossed ears up. . It looks in the direction of where Minoru crossed, ears and tail upright. It begins to trot over to investigate. Fuma initially has trouble ascending the sheer wall, but makes it over. When he drops to the ground, the dog trots forward and begins barking at the dark in his direction.
The dog is at 40 yds range, the blowgun's range is 12 yds. Fuma is on the ground, between 2 and 5 on the map. A successful ninjutsu roll would conceal him. He can also walk or run using ninjutsu, with negative modifiers to the roll. The modifiers in green here would apply.
Ninja wearing correct "uniform" (see appendix 2): +1
Ninja wearing "unsilenced" Armor: -(Armor Class )
Ninja wearing incorrect "uniform": -1
Daylight: -2
Bright moonlight: -1
Stormy night: +2
Ninja Walking: -1
Ninja Running: -3
Moving in to attack: -5
Trying to avoid contact: +1
Ninja in tree, on roof, etc. (in unlikely place): +2
Observer within 10': -3
Other modifiers must be tailored to fit the situation. A sleeping

Fuma climbing rolled failed, but his ninjutsu roll succeeded, so he remains undetected. He needs a successful (Deftness/2) +1 roll to climb the wall. Using the numbers on the map, please state where he climbs. Last evening, Kaida saw the dog sheltering from the rain under the columned walkway in the southeast (around the text "roofed columns").
If Fuma’s ninjutsu succeeded, would he have remained undetected by the dog?

Yes. A ninjutsu success makes the shinobi unheard and unseen.

Here's a map. The dog is to the east.

Fuma
Fuma will try to close the distance to the dog, moving slowly. If detected, he will run at the dog in an attempt to take it out quickly. Then once in range attempt to dart it.

Based on his Speed score, Fuma walks 7 yds per 6-second Detailed Turn. So he closed to 33 yds, undetected by the dog (or anyone else). Out of blowgun range, so we'll disregard that roll.
Actions Jinsei, Kaida and Minoru?

Jinsei, realizing the dog hadn’t detected them, yet Fuma was stepping east instead of joining him under the floor, per the plan, chirped a cricket sound and wildly waved his arm for his fellow ninja to stop. He signed quickly - let dog come to us! movement is risk! two blowguns better then one! wait for dog to come close!
Assuming with magic night vision Fuma can see Jinsei, besides hearing the cricket.

Minoru will lay flat on the roof and remain still and as quiet as he can.

I like that image. A few things here.
a)The dog detected something in the area because of Minoru's failed ninjutsu roll. That was followed by Fuma's failed ninjutsu roll, which caused the dog to spot him and bark at him.
b) Fuma then had a successful ninjutsu roll. He needs to get out of the dog's field of vision to use it. We'll say that he could do that by backing under the eaves of the wall's roof. With the successful roll, he can't be seen or heard, even by Jinsei and Minoru. (It seems kind of counter-intuitive, but I don't see anything in the rules saying that ninja in the same group can detect each other after a ninjutsu success. Fuma is effectively out of sight). Jinsei and Minoru need Detection of Hidden Things (Wit) STs to detect Fuma.
c) To sign that message to Fuma, Jinsei needs a successful kuji-kuri roll. And Fuma needs a successful roll to understand it. I think probably both PCs have a BCS (Base Chance of Success) of 10 or less. But Jinsei could also just gesture a simple universally understood "Come here!" without using kuji-kuri. However, Fuma can't see Jinsei, because Jinsei is in almost total darkness under the house, and Fuma can only see in that 1 yard per his level. But Fuma can hear the warning cricket chirp sign.
d) Reminder that fuma has a powerful han-kyu short bow with a range much longer than the blowgun's.
e) Minoru add a ninjutsu roll to his action of going flat on the roof if you'd like.
With that in mind, Jinsei and Minoru can rewind and restate their actions if they'd like.

Really sorry, I didn't get an in-game (not email) notification about fflz's post.
Minoru goes flat on the roof, making a slight sound. The dog rushes forward, stops, and uncertainly barks at the dark in the direction of the back of the house and its roof there.
The dog is now at 30 yds range. Fuma's blowgun's range is 12 yds. Fuma and Jinsei, please confirm that you want to keep your stated actions or post revised ones. Kaida can post an action as well, of course.

Fuma
Agreed, we just push ahead.
Fuma will use his bow and attempt to kill the dog that way.

What kind of arrow did Fuma use against the dog? From his sheet:
Quiver (Ebiru)
Bowel-Raker (Watakushi) - 11 arrows
Armor-Piercer (Togari-Ysi) -12 arrows
Bowel-Rakers do more damage, at a penalty to to-hit. Armor-Pierces do less damage, at a bonus to to-hit. For reference, the average man has 10 HP.
The range is 33 yards. The two-man rating han-kyu bow gets two damage dice, as shown below from the sheet.
Short (21-50 yards)
Bowel-Raker (Watakushi) BCS 8 2d6+2d3+2 (L)
Armor-Piercer (Togari-Ysi) BCS 11 2d5+2 (L)

Please roll 2d6 + 2d3 + 2 for damage. Bows are crazy deadly in Bushido. (Compare that to a katana, which does 1d6 + 2 damage).
