The Ruined Warlords Palace
The Aftermath, Mid Afternoon
While Cyril and Akhilleus look around with obvious trepidation, told to stay behind in this stinking, rat infested and fly filled room of death, Drest and Xenos start making their way down the lone stairs.
The stone stairway turns 90 degrees halfway down the 40 foot descent. Thanks to the light of their torch, Drest stops suddenly just before the final landing where he spots something strange on the penultimate step. There is an odd bulk to the stone that doesn't seem right to the Scout. D12 roll, please?

Akhilleus waits upstairs with his sword drawn. He looks around him with uneasiness. This is a horrible place.

The Ruined Warlords Palace
The Lower Level, Mid Afternoon
Drest pokes around at the step to find a grey cloth covering a void underneath. When he pulls the cloth away, he sets off a claw trap hidden below. Though he isn't caught by its jaws, it does snap closed with a loud clack the echoes throughout the adjoining stone room. Looking at his intact ankle, the Scout is glad he checked it out first.
Shining their torch into the next opening, they find a mezzanine area. The walls in this 15' x 30' room are covered with painted bucolic murals, and two more iron bound doors can be seen from the stairway. There is no evidence of habitation inside this area.

Drest
Drest will search the room for secret doors/compartments. Making sure to check under the stairs. Are the doors locked? Any noises from the other side?

The Ruined Warlords Palace
The Lower Level, Mid Afternoon
While Cyril and Akhilleus wait nervously at the top of the stairs, Drest searches the dark lower room by torchlight. Besides the artwork covering the walls, he finds nothing of interest anywhere inside. The stairs are solid and not hiding anything. Both iron-bound wooden doors remain in good condition and show signs of use, each of them locked tightly.
There is no noise coming from the western portal, but just for a moment, the Scout believes he hears the shuffling of feet on the stone floor behind the southernmost door.

Drest
Drest hand signals Xenos that he hears something behind the southernmost door and that both doors are locked. He then waits for a reply before proceeding.
Fixed which door.

Xenos
Once we have rejoined the others upstairs, Xenos explains to the others "There is a room at the bottom of the stairs with two doors off it." he looks at Drest "You indicated that you heard something behind one of them?"

Drest
"Yes, I head the shuffling of feet behind the southernmost door. Both doors are locked so I am not sure I can get it open without someone on the other side hearing me. Possible but not likely."

Akhilleus
"So they have the advantage of coming out when they want. We should find something to bar the doors, so we can rest without any issues coming from below. Do you know if the doors open by pushing or pulling?
If you ask me, I bet those are the women and children that hid as we were fighting with the slaves."

Cyril
"I agree - with barring the doors if possible. I have no tools that can help there though. After that we rest. Then finally we go in downstairs. We still have the amulets. Perhaps two of us wear those in snake form, pretending to bring prisoners. At least then perhaps we get in through a doorway before the inevitable fight begins."

Did the doors open into the room or out?

Both doors appear to open into the room, meaning they could be barred from this (your) side, if you like.

Drest
"They open in so we should be able to figure out a way to bar them. Lets look for some debris among the wreckage that might work."
