Okay, the seriously wounded with Jakob's Medical Rolls for them:
  • Skip (11)
  • Able (10)
  • Ink (8)
  • Vitt (13)
Not sure how long each "action" would take, and if they could get back into play any time soon. Liv was caring for the wounded before Jakob came back to.

In other news, our lines of defense aren't that bad. At a trot, and if the orange doors are open, someone could go from the doors where our shooters are to the sickbay door in two turns. The non-combatants are already in our Officer country, so Jakob will have the doors on the north, east, and south of the square closed and blocked, if possible.

If you want an Imperial Marine Commando solution, the waterfall mechanism in the southern "square" would require penetration of the wall, hence it's not load bearing. A nice explosive, or a little bit of applied fusion, would allow you to penetrate to the upper walkway over the northern square. As an alternative, climb up through the lift shaft and blow an opening.

FWIW, here is the updated LOS map, everywhere is pretty much covered, they know there stuff:

Looks like Erica is up to something. I still think the original plan goes, with smoke bomb distractions, a ream on the ground floor NE for the grenadier, a team on the 1st floor NW door for SPA guy plus a new team in the same location for the gatling laser.

Which means we need 3 team leaders, so I can see no option but to bring Jakob in to help blow up the laser.

EDIT: Looks like Prerna is pretty much at the right hand guy anyway, I didn't realise she was that far round.

He is very conveniently sitting on top of 1st Squad (and their PGMP) who re the current incarnation of HQ security.

They are "fresh" and combat ready!

As far as the need for reactive security goes you may have pre-empted that by (probably) killing nearly every hostile in the building... ;) :P

Well, if you now have a pretty good idea where the enemy are and know exactly where they will be firing and looking everyone else can surely fill their boots???

I figure Prerna will mostly be drawing fire - and getting out of there to another firing position further north...

If the laser gunner is looking to Prerna and not to the right that gives Jakob a chance. If we take out the grenadier then that really helps.

Patchy connection. Online now, and for another hour or two.

If we're still doing grenades Jess is ready, if we're moving fast I guess she's fire support.

Methinks Jess is in denial.
Maybe. But at the moment I think Jess is trying to impress in the sense of "we're a good unit you want to join". And "being blown up doesn't put me down" too ;)

EDIT
"Priority targets," she announces. "The Baron is being taken prisoner, he has two guards; that's the do not engage target. Easy and I are engaging two of the three targets in the pool area."

Writing up the IC response now. IIUC Jakob's team should come in through the orange doors just north of the "spa", in the swimming pool square.?

1st Squad can go "Route 1" and assault along the current axis of advance (blue route) or cut north through the empty VIP area and attack from the flank (green route).

I believe you mean to use Green Route?

Never underestimate the value some people are willing to place on a "useful idiot"! ;)

There's a, perhaps unfair, argument that it's not even cost effective to shoot him... :P

Correct, the Green Route.

A fairly simple plan; Nuts in the elevator with the PGMP. That gives him LOS on his target and some protection from the grenades. We can comm sync up and he can "aim" even before the door is open.

I'm not sure who all is handy, but one person pushes the western doors open and lobs a couple of grenades backhand; they don't have to get dead on, and the wall will protect them. As soon as the grenades go off and Nuts fires, Jakob sprints to behind the waterfall. In theory the enemy reactions to the explosions should make it harder to target Jakob. If they do pop up to get a good shot then Prerna's team with take them out.

That's the plan, anyway. :)

Major Clarification: If you look at shaidar's spiderweb map in post #482, none of the enemy have LOS BEHIND/NORTH of the waterfall. So the "upper" line (Jakob) on the "Green Route" should go to the tree to the east and slight north of the waterfall. No one else is entering; D is well within grenade toss range and A is in LOS for the PGMP.

Ah, the mercs stand like greyhounds in the slips straining on the start.

However, Jess is priming smoke grenades so might need covering fire especially as her "bowling" may be much more crown green...

Not fair, it hurts to laugh with broken ribs :D

Would it be helpful to follow the smoke up with a RAM HE on a pre-registered area?

Not intended to hit anyone necessarily, but probably good for distraction/suppression.

That's very sound.

You can't hit (barring prodigious luck) but your miss will give you frag hits in the area.

Pen 2 at Tech 8-10 so well worth doing vs. soft armour.

I had wondered this, but because of the hassle they've caused Frank just wants to return some of it, he's just being awkward. With the regime change commencing this was all so unnecessary in his eyes. If they want him then they damn well shall NOT get him. Frank is pissed, maybe not good for the unit commander, but there you go.

We are so close to having a plan!

I understand, and because you offered...

How about one of Charlie/Baker/Mike/King move to the left to support Jess in the bottom left door? If Jess is happy to look after our troops in the southern doors then Frank and Kit could go around and come in the SW door, right next to SPA guy, who has no line of sight for that door. The laser has limited LOS and the grenadier has a little, but they'll be distracted by smoke grenades and Jakobs team, and we can stick to foliage cover as much as possible. A quick RAM HEAP grenade to the Spa should sort that problem out.

Gurusql, are you happy with Kit helping out Frank? Frank would go first, he does have combat armour. Or at least open doors and stay safe in the lift while Frank engages? Whichever you feel comfortable with.

Happy to do that.

Checking role : Everyone on the south bowls a smoke grenade then, when the screen develops, Frank and Jakob's teams go in from the flanks as Jess and A. N. Other launch HE at areas near targets ( worked out on the "stand here, aim two fingers-breadth right of the door-frame" style basis ;) ).
