The laser comm link is active and the battle computer reports active radio jamming centred within about 50m whilst also showing a full tactical update of SEMC positions (per the tactical map). Immedaite movement options for Prerna and T'lia are stairs down or grav belts (from the boot). The "rump" of Prerna's scout/sniper squad (less Baker and Easy) are present on the roof where you have landed.

Seeing that the 2 figures at Prernas' door may be incapacitated to some extent Klaus rushes to close the distance tackling the one kneeling at the door

Both clear the penthouse and now exactly determine that the source of the short range jamming which must emanate from the floor below (Officer Accommodation). This would be consistent with lightweight man portable jammers not much heavier than your own wearable comms.BackworldTraveller wrote: ↑Mon Jun 05, 2023 6:39 am Freya continues through the penthouse until it is confirmed clear. Re: Collace Homecoming
Frank, Prerna, Jess and Klaus
Prerna enters from the stairwell accompanied by T'lia. Oddly both are wearing the distinctively styled Avastan workers' coats over what looks to be tactical harness and very tailored "skinsuits" both have drawn sidearms. Prerna sees Baker and Easy in full kit emerging from Frank's room behind her presumably after having cleared it of any potential hostile threat. Baker greets her with a helmeted nod and a simple "Ma'am". The corridor ahead (see map) is empty save for Frank (centre "crossroads") and Jess (tending Assassin B) and her new henchman (tending Assassin C). He appears to have suspended triage on his casualty to fasten his own wrist chrono.
On sighting the new arrivals he respectfully taps Jess' arm and says "горячие" девушки From the spreading bodily fluids and severe head and chest trauma Jess takes a broad medical guess that Tartar's "patient" is KIA FUBAR. Dang but Imperial marines do good work! It was probably unlikely he could have been medically resusitated - even if he had actaully been treated. While she's therefore quite sure he won't need his chrono her patient (Assassin B) still shows some odd signs of life...
Tartar has also checked the load in his casualty's autosnub. "Пиздец!" The standard rounds seem a little short on charge (maybe subsonic/low velocity???) but have a liquid(?) component to their snub HEAP warheads. Continuing his disinterest in his patient he dutifully hands the clip to Jess for examination. [Note to QSM Autosnub @ one clip of HEAP(S) ammo, Jammer, Medikit [SuSAG] times Eight (plus sundry ammo and gear) recovered so far].
Prerna sees Frank focus to his left and Klaus "charge" that way apparently into melee. At the far end of the corridor she sees a corpse in a stealthsuit that appears, despite catastrophic gunshot trauma, to still be "twitching". She also sees another skinsuited head take a quick tactical peek into the corridor from around the balcony. Knowing that there's nothing for him to be standing on there Prerna assumes that he either has a grav belt or a grav vehicle butted right against the building. If she had to guess at his actions he's pulling something from his tac vest/webbing (no longarm visible).
Frank covers left from the "crossroads" both he and Jess hear that the Cavalry troop have cleared her quarters. "Clear, Corp!" "Right, a quick an' very fekkin' respectful search for anyfin' they've left be'ind and I am watchin' you! Gerroff me! Kingy you gropin' fruit open yer mincers!" "I can't Corp! Anywhere I 'as a gander there's a chance of me viewing the QSM's "smalls". S'not a sight for other ranks' eyes! It would erode me military discipline... an' quite possibly bring on me trouble". "You ruddy useless bandage! Shugs 'ave a rummage". "Oh yeah baby right there!" "Corp!!!" "Shut it you sex case!"
Meanwhile Klaus stows his rifle and envelops the kneeling assassin in what must be a "cover tackle". His instincts trigger on approach but he's committed. He bundles his target to the ground and then strips away his weapon. Klaus sees that this is an integrally suppressed Snubmachine gun (SMG in Snub configuration - Klaus is an expert with these and all snub weapons
). Due to the dead weight/lack of resistance he's wrestling Klaus determines his opponent is already KIA. He notes the kneeling appearance of his target was assisted by the corpse being propped up over a wheeled janitor's "mop trolley" which in this case seems to be conveniently appropriate to the size of a crouched man.
Both Frank and Klaus note that the stealth suited figure "sat" in the waist high planter (armed with an autosnub loosely held in his lap) hasn't yet moved - at all.
Just as Klaus ends up astride "his" corpse a mop is slowly extended and waved through the ajar doorway to Prerna's room while a reedy voice offers "Yak team wahed? Ah... All one team, yes yes?" Klaus recognises "team" in both cases as the Imperial word that it is - apparently the language spoken has no equivalent. "Khub’ast, ba’le? All good, yes?" After a brief pause the voice says "No shooting please - we love him Imperium! Yes? Authorised staff with Union benefits - look, look please!" A wiry hand of indeterminate genetic origin then pokes two apparently genuine (from this range) SEMC/Bartisan internal staff ID cards around the door frame and then adds "No shoot please Johnny! Shoot staff look bad in reports!"
SEMC senior staff/any who served on the last jaunt will be aware that Prerna took on two locals as domestic staff on Avastan. They were an old fellah and his boy who served them an evening picnic on the berm top at the starport.

She fiddles with her bugs to try and gather which room the jammer is in on the floor below. (or is it in the purported grav vehicle?)

Re: Collace Homecoming
Jess glances up and tells him: Они замужем. She has no reason to notice anything about his “work” as a medic, so she doesn’t.On sighting the new arrivals he respectfully taps Jess' arm and says "горячие" девушки
Jess calls the medic team: Enemy prisoner needs pickup, my location. Urgent and serious. He’s on combat juice, too. Maintain restraint.
Examining the jammer, she looks for an “off-switch”, announcing on general SEMC comms: Opfor have personal jammers.
She sends any details of the unit’s characteristics to HQ and Freya.
If she believes “her” patient is stable, she picks up her weapon and resumes the sweep.
Re: Collace Homecoming
Prerna and T'Lia
Prerna puts suppressive fire down on the emerging threat as she hears Baker ask "Miss East, ma'am, could you just move over a bit? S'alright we're 'ere". Two suppressed ACRs cough aimed rounds down range as the target ducks a near miss and then rises to hurl a grenade down the corridor towards those rendering aid at crossroads. This is when Easy's round creases his skull tearing off his vision enhancing goggles. He appears quite suprised that he lived. His surprise then begins to reach exponential levels as the grenade he just pitched turns in the air and then accelerates back towards him. It strikes him in the orbit of his right eye and seems to lodge there as he pitches backwards and is lost from sight. A "wet" detonation shortly follows his departure. Erica drops the emptied clip from her gauss pistol and reloads saying "Nice shooting soldier".

Re: Collace Homecoming
Jess (and Frank and Klaus)
Jess is just processing Tartar's obscenity riddled response to the marital staus of the approaching "crumpet" when he suddenly dives on top of her shoving her into cover from the fusilade of shots passing overhead. Things barely improve for the dignity of her rank when Baker and Easy push forward through the crossroads towards the far balcony. This is followed by a veritable stampede of the entire cavalry troop moving up behind Baker to clear the Guest Room. "Sorry, Ma'am. That bloke I just trod on looked like he needed a medic!" After a cautious recon Baker declares over the command channel "There's a grav submersible anchored below the balcony". He adds "Top's been repainted. From 'ere aginst the sea it's unit colours - claret an' blue!" He reports "All the hatches are open. Looks like the crew came indoors to see wot wos takin' these murderin' fekkers so long". He muses philosophically "Just wot 'eld 'em up I wonder".
Jess is "milspec gear savvy" enough to identify and turn off/remove power sources to the individual jammers carried by the OpFor even as she relays their specs to Freya/HQ to facilitate counter jamming.
T'Lia moves up next and to Jess' surprise counterintuitavely cuts away her casualty's medikit. She then administers an intravenous shot from her own medical gear which seems to counter the majority of his life threatening issues and apparently leaves a clearer medical path to treating his GSW trauma. She seems focussed on the assassin's treatment.

Re: Collace Homecoming
Klaus (and also those at the "Crossroads")
From his position outside Prerna's room Klaus is aware of the other events at the crossroads but also sees the door to Prerna's quarters fully open to show the very tidy and tastefully decorated apartment within. However, Klaus can't help but feel that there is some evidence that the Major and her wife may have... overdone the ethnic. He notes that there isn't enough "furntiture as per expected issue" whilst also realising that any comment on the quantity of "unmilitary hippy beanbags" would be inappropriate to an officer's private quarters. However, he notes the style and quality of the (oh now they're expensive!) Isfahan rugs (no doubt from Avastan) on the stone laid floor.
After some muted conversation within an elderly man steps very slowly into Klaus' full view. Because he scanned the last mission debriefs Klaus recognises the headress and garb of the Avastan hillmen farmers that tend the upland holdings way outside the more cosmopolitan areas of Avastan City. The old fellah has a long sleeveless coat worn over a shirt and baggy trousers. Perhaps as a sign of his rank as butler(?) he wears a black sash about his waist from which (as a proponent of knifefighting) Klaus recognises what looks like the straight hilt of an Imperial pattern Fairbairn–Sykes commando dagger. Klaus notes it as much intra service debate raged over the weapon's value vs the issue "Knife, Fighting Utility". This "milspec dagger" had no "utility" and only one singular purpose.
Presuming that Klaus doesn't gun him down on sight the old fellah beckons his boy forth from inside the apartment.
The young teen emerges bearing a tray with a highly burnished silver spouted pot, a stack of small glass cups and a variety of honeyed pastries. The elder asks "Chai, Johnny? Yes, yes? You are made welcome". Taking a look about outside the door he tuts at the bodies and overturned mop cart "Oh, wet carpet!" Looking left to the crossroads he sighs "Oh... new carpet! Imperial Marines yes? Always very bad for carpet".
The young lad then dextrously and yet very deferentially proffers the content of his tray to Klaus. Klaus notes that the youth is also dressed in "hillman garb" like his mentor but is perhaps comically armed only with a hand carved wooden catapult held in his sash in place of any other weapon.
The elder excuses himself then very efficiently sets to the spillage outside the door with his mop.

Confirm I have 2 "non-combatants" in Prerna's room.
Klaus smiles at the lad and lifts a pastry from the tray.
Please stay in the room for now, I wouldn't want you to get caught in any crossfire
He then cautiously moves towards the junction.
