OOC I
Re: OOC
Don't forget, guys, this isn't the 21st century. I'm pretty sure the local authorities are going to take our word for it when it comes down to it. They're not as worried about silly concepts like "evidence" and "innocent until proven guilty" in these times.
Which is not to say that the note and the evil holy symbol aren't handy pieces of evidence.
Plus, you do have a cleric dedicated to Good Immortals in the party. We tend not to lie in these situations, lest we get smote by a bolt from the blue.

Hey guys, we lost power again yesterday morning. I'll update IC when I can.

Sounds good.frobozz wrote:If Saul wishes to hold on to the medallion, perhaps he could ride ahead with Tratiln and Marodin back to Threshold before the rest of the group arrives there, to be able to show it to the church authorities.

Re: OOC
Is the church part of the Threshold authorities? I guess that is where I am confused. I thought that Threshold had it's own Mayor/Baron/what have you, and the church was just a church. If that is the case, I would then think that being in the Evil cult would be against the law.

So the Church will probably have a lot of temporal authority. And even if it doesn't, the killing of a cleric should be something that the authorities usually would care a lot.Church of Karameikos
The Church of Karameikos is by far the largest practiced religion in the Duchy. It is in some sense a made up sect, borrowing elements from both the Thyatian and Traladaran traditions, although the Thyatian aspect is dominant. It is the state sponsored religion; the Patriarach of Threshold, Baron Sherlane Halaran, is both the spiritual and temporal leader of the region. The church worships a number of different Immortals, including Vanya, Valerias and Tarastia (originally Thyatian Immortals), Ilsundal and Kagyar (elven and dwarven Immortals, respectively) and several others.

Ah, now it all seems to make sense. Not that last line, though...
Edit: I take it back! Google translator says you "have eaten a large Portuguese friend".

Re: OOC
Damn, I knew I had forgotten something! Yeah, so the cleric and thieves should have gone up a level, no? I'll get the XP breakdown and new hp totals when I get off work today.
Re: OOC
Nope, we only earned .9 experience and we have to round down!!!sulldawga wrote:Can I assume we earned enough experience from Elwyn's men and the wolves that Marodin earned 1 XP and has reached 3rd level?

Re: OOC
I'd like y'all to tell me what you want out of the festival. I just finished running it for another group (of 6 PCs) and it went well. We did all the events except for the melee and the riddle contest, because they decided they wanted to move on. So, it was cool and all, and they enjoyed the events they did, but it was a lot of posting. Those who didn't participate in the contests ended up feeling a little left out.
So, tell me what you want. The whole festival experience? Skip the contests and just do the shopping? Something else?

That .1 xP is going to be the hardest XP we've ever seen LOL

By the way, Luis, nice roleplaying the effect of the "evil voices". I'm glad now that Lanny did not follow through with his original idea, which was to tackle Saul and take the medallion away from him when he first refused to give it up.

Re: OOC
Great roleplay indeed. This game has been terrific, TK is doing a great job and all of you guys are great to play with. One thing I'm particularly enjoying is the fact that we are keeping a great pace, moving the action forward objectively and to the point without sacrificing the character interaction and setting flavour.
As for the festival, Drudsa will initially have a look around and check what type of entertainment and business is available. He will be interested in (potentially) magical and outlandish stuff. Gambling and contests would not draw his attention unles it involves arcane knowledge.

Meagnor doesn't care about contests. He could try to win some coins in a archery contest (c'mon, can this guy only think about money?

XP from defeating bandits=60
XP from treasure=18 (approximate value of coinage the bandits had).
78 XP/9=8.67 XP per person. Those with a 5% XP bonus round up to 9 XP, those with a 10% round up to 10 XP.
Marodin hp: (1d6=5)
Grey Jake hp: (1d4=1)
Saul hp: (1d4=4)

Bregalad the elf
Bregalad is interested in seeing what the festival has to offer. If for some reason he does not find things in which he can participate, then it will give Finglas time to kick back and enjoy reading other players post!

Re: OOC
You'll be getting some more plot hooks coming up soon from the festival, too.
Re: OOC
Here are some things Lanny is interested in doing in town (he would like to stay in town at least through Thaumont 10 to enjoy the festivities):
1. Meet with Quinthos tonight to discuss his plight.
2. Meet with Fr. Varis tomorrow to discuss a strategy going forward.
3. Go along with Tratiln and Meagnor for their plate mail fitting and ask the armorer if he has heard any new rumors about the orc tribes to the northwest that raided the tomb of the forgotten warrior.
4. Go along with anyone intersted in making a short trip to see Myraal the Guild Mage. Lanny is primarily interested in asking Myraal about the history of the the Traladaran tribes that crafted his magic arrows.
5. Lanny is very interested in the Duke's Elvenguard of Karameikos. If any of the guard units are in town protecting the Gnome Caravan, he will try to introduce himself to some of the guardsmen or their officers.
6. Lanny is somewhat interested in the wares and goods that the gnomes have for sale. In particular, he would like to see if the gnomes have any spyglasses for sale, as well as any finely made maps of Karameikos.
7. Lanny will take in as much of the festivities and as many of the contests as time allows, but under no circumstances will he miss the archery contest!
