The Ruined Tower Door
Starday, 27th of Goodmonth
Noonish, Sunny, Hot, Breezy
Elnaerel looks over the area above the ground floor structure, seeing only the remains of crumbling walls above it. Though the floor of the second story (ceiling of the first story) still appears intact, most of it’s walls and all of its contents are now laying in the stone covered debris field where they fell long ago.
Gnodric pushes on the outside stone walls in a few spots, finding no weak or loose areas in the construction. Seeing no seabirds in this area, TK and TK have a brief exchange, the gnome seeking out the safest way to approach the rusted tight door.
Keg grows impatient with all the silly precautions, suddenly rushing up the steps and executing a solid and rater loud shield bash into the rusty portal, nearly knocking The Knife over in the process. Heaving all of his weight against it creates a rend in the middle of the weakened door, causing the rusted hinges to crack and completely dislodging the locking mechanism from the door frame. From the darkness beyond, a waft of dusty, stale air escapes through the breach.
It becomes obviously apparent that the door is now inoperable and can only be opened the rest of the way by the use of more brute force.

Gnodric
Hearing the crash of Keg's attempt at the door, Gnodric rushes over to assist. He will join Keg in a 2nd attempt to clear the door.
Feanol
With the entry attempt loudly underway Feanol moves to a spot not in the direct line of the door, and scans the skies for any approaching creatures.

Keg shakes his head to clear the cobwebs and grumbles that the door didn't collapse like he thought it would from its age. Seeing
Gnodric come to join him he nods.
Lets get a good run at it. Count of three..........
Three!
He charges:

Keyon
The elf quirks an eyebrow at their large companion and chuckles. "More than one way to skin a cat, yes?" He says to no one in particular. Keyon will keep a sharp lookout on ground level, assuring himself that nothing is creeping up upon them.

The Knife
The Knife rolls his eyes at Keg and Gnodric's brave attempt to get themselves killed at the front door. He ducks around to the west side of the tower and tries to scale the wall, hoping to get a better view of the interior from up above

The Ruined Tower Door
Starday, 27th of Goodmonth
Early Afternoon, Sunny, Hot, Breezy
While Keg, Gnodric, and Elnaerel take the time to noisily bash the badly rusted iron door into oblivion, eventually smashing it off its broken hinges completely, TK deftly climbs up the side of the outside stone wall for a better view from above. The only thing left on the second floor of the tower is its solid stone floor and a few remnants of fallen-in, partially crumbled walls. There is what appears to be an opening into the floor below along one wall, but it is currently covered with a long slab of broken stone, basically sealing off the opening to the lower level completely. At this higher vantage point, TK looks out over the jagged rocky wasteland this tower sits upon. Other than the rubble rom the fallen upper levels, the gnome sees nothing around for miles in every direction.
Looking into the dark room beyond the now smashed in door, the explorers find it completely empty. There is a stone stairway that must have lead up to the second floor, but the opening in the ceiling is blocked by a large section of fallen wall from above. There appears to be painted frescos on the walls of the roughly 30 foot circular room. The floor inside the door is covered in a sandy looking dust, revealing no tracks through the room whatsoever. It would seem that this door hasn't been opened in a long, long time.
When Feanol looks to the skies again with her superior vision, she sees the tiny specks of the distant wasp riders again. This time they are circling the area from another direction, opposite from the last time they were spotted. They are still so far off that only the elves in the group can see them.

Keg blinks and looks at Elnaerel when she joins them just before they all three crash through the door. He waves the dust away from his face and then turns to grin at her. You keep this up and I might grow downright fond of you, woman.
Once inside he walks around looking at the frescos and tries to piece together what this place must have looked like at one time to get an idea of its occupants and purpose while also scanning the floor and ceiling for danger or other matters of interest. Well, despite the condition now... looks like someone invested some real time and money into this place at one time. This is certainly proof that the natives as they are were not the only people here... some lost civilization or something? Some failed outpost?

The Knife
From his elevated position The Knife looks down on the debris field. He searches for signs of life or anything that looks shiny and possibly valuable.

Seeing the others busting up the door yells: I got dibs on the door once it is broken off the hinges. Town blacksmith can make me a butt load of arrow heads and fishing arrows with that much iron. Maybe even a replacement morning star. Now to figure how to get it back to the town.
Max
I got a spell that might help with that. Tenser's Floating Disc but it doesn't last so long for all the way back. I might be able to teach it to you if we get time.

Elnaerel
The elf cleric remains startled for a second after Keg's remark. She seems to shake her head for a second before paying attention to her surroundings again. This time at the interior of the tower from the outside, specially the floor.
"Hold on! Don't go in there!"
Is the soil around the tower sandy or rather earthly/rocky? In other words, is there (seemingly) any rationale for sand being the interior of the tower considering its surroundings and the ceiling?

There is no sand around the tower, but the dusting on the floor is not really like the sand you see on the beach, Think of it more like coarse, salty dust.

Gnodric
Smiles when he sees the interior. "Now this is more like it, Keg do you think there'll be treasure?" He lights a torch so they can get a better look at the art work. He'll scan for anything that looks dangerous or like an opening that would lead to treasure.
Feanol
Takes one last look at the wasp rider specks. "Well the wasp riders are still active, but a long way off, and in a new direction. I think we are definitely off there list of attractive targets." Then she'll join those who have entered the tower.

The Ruined Tower
Starday, 27th of Goodmonth
Early Afternoon, Sunny, Hot, Breezy
With the hot sun beating down upon him again, TK looks over the debris field of the fallen tower from his elevated vantage point on the second floor. He sees a long pile of fallen rock and bricks, rotted timbers and portions of rotting wooden walls, stairways, and crushed ladders. There is no life to be seen, nor is there any movement in the pile. If there is anything valuable or shiny amongst the rubble, he doesn't see it from above. At the very end of the pile he spots some broken flat slate tiles near some more rotted wood, wondering if that is what remains of the towers former roof.
Keg walks into the dark room with the dusty floor before Elnaerel has a chance to stop him. Gnodric lights a torch and follows the groups leader inside, looking closer at the painted frescos on the walls. Feanol also enters, once she deems it safe to do so. Max and Darklin discuss the idea of carrying the broken door all the way back to Beachtown with them when they leave.
Inside, the circular walls are painted in a series of landscapes. The wall with the door shows a rocky stretch of barren land bordered in the distance by a lush, green jungle. Leading around to the sides, the walls are painted with more of the rocky wasteland, though here they show a beautiful ocean view beyond the rocky cliff tops. The wall opposite the door is dominated by what looks like a tall lighthouse of sorts, overlooking an endless horizon of blue seas beyond. There is a bright light emanating from the upper floor of the painted lighthouse, its beam of dazzling light shining far out to sea.
Elnaerel kicks around at the dust on the floor before she enters, finding it to be quite thick and more coarse than normal dust. Her scraping reveals what looks like old carvings in the surface of the ancient stone floor.

Looks around at the paintings.
You think this tower used to be that lighthouse? he asks the others as he points. He then eyes the light at the top of the lighthouse in the painting and calls up to The Knife.
Hey! If this was the lighthouse... there might still be something of the light source way over there where it fell. Might be worth looking into.

Ya, sorry about the map position mix-up. I will consider her to be standing at the top of the steps, just outside the door. Her action will still be valid from that area.

Our young former scalawag enters the room with a curious eye upon the carvings. He pauses just far enough inside the door to inspect some of the carvings.
"I wonder if this coarse dust is from stone grinding upon stone?" His mind immediately turns to thoughts of gruesome traps and splattered blood.
"I'm entirely too young and handsome to be rendered flat," he muses as he kneels to blow the sand very gently away from some of the carvings.
