Wait a moment, whispers AdaRue.This makes no sense. The Crimson Folk said they had skirted around the room with the slugs and cleared out the goblins beyond it. But there hasn't been anything except this door. So either this room is empty (being the room they cleared out), or they've lied to us (and might be in league with the goblins). She looks at the others for confirmation that there haven't been any side rooms with loads of dead goblins in it, as was related by Elowen and Dorick. She hefts her mace and shield in preparation for a betrayal, shifting toward the back of the group a bit.

Vernon moves toward the front of the group, bow at the ready. When the door is opened, he will step in and to the side, making room for others to follow.

Door
AdaRue's caution noted, Junius proceeds to slide the lever and slowly pull open the double doors halting the group's progress.

The doors open into another large area -- too large to be seen in its entirety without the benefit of light. Peering inside, the are that is in the dwarf's view has all the lookings of a large barracks, with easily a dozen of small beds lining the floor around the other wall. Each bed appears to have a goblin lying in it, their tan-colored blankets soaked in blood. Many have red-feathered arrows sticking out of them; others have deep puncture wounds.

Near each of the beds rests a double-chambered chest.

There are no noises or hints of movement coming from within this large area.

AdaRue fills and lights her lantern and proceeds into the room in a clockwise direction, scoping out the size of the chamber. She also notes if the cheats have been looted yet.

Canun, bearing the other lantern, walks in a counter-clockwise fashion to complement AdaRue's lantern. He will of course stop at any body or chest he encounters to investigate the contents.

Barracks
The group enters the barracks and spread out, exposing all areas of the large barracks. The smell of death permeates the air as the goblin corpses, previously disposed of by the Brotherhood, are beginning to reek. A faint hint of smoke or tinder is also smelt, and two fire pits, which have been extinguished, show hints of having been lit in the not-too-distant past.

All bedrolls and beds, which still house the dead goblin bodies, are coated with goblin blood and essentially ruined.

All the chests and footlockers have been completely looted... except for a single chest in the northwest corner, discovered by Dimly, that is nearly overflowing with a mixture of coins. Your best guess is that this chest appears to be a consolidation of all treasure, collected from all the chests, by the Brotherhood after they completed their slaughter.

There are easily several hundred coins -- possibly thousands -- and you estimate the value to be upwards of 500 gold pieces; but this total cannot be know unless you spend the time and actually go through its contents.

Aside from the door you entered from, there is only one other exit -- another familiar set of wooden double doors -- in the right hand wall.

Vernon eyes the chest with a smile. Even split amongst them, it is more than he could hope to make in a year. He heads to to the doors, ready to fire.

AdaRue is oddly relieved to find the dead bodies, but is still perplexed how the prisoners skirted around the slugs. She readies her sling. Is it worth setting up a wall of chests to take cover behind if the door is guarded? Or is it a waste of time?

Pens
The group carefully stashes the chest containing the substantial wealth, hiding it from any potential explorer behind them or other inhabitant of the goblin gaves, and agrees, with the end seemingly near, to press on. The rest of the scene is left as-is, to make the area seem legitimately cleared before leaving.

Once everyone has organized into their respective place in the order, Junius opens the door in the right hand wall.

The scent of moldy fur fills the air in the passage beyond; and a shuffling sound, with claws scraping on stone, heard.

At roughly the end of his infravision, into either side of the passage, appear to be floor to ceiling bars -- like a prison cell.

Dire Wolf Pens
The group slowly works forward, led by Junius, with his bow ready.

After only a few steps, even any subtle noise the group makes is heard by the occupants of the ahead pens, and a loud, viscous snarling is heard, and clawed paws sound as if they're hurriedly approaching... but stop short.

Junius and the rest inch forward and are able to confirm that the suspected pens are, in fact, secured areas where the goblins have been boarding their pets.

"Awww, shud up!" a goblin voice, from further down the passage, is heard yelling in the crude goblin tongue as the wolves begin to act up. The goblin voice does not appear to be approaching, but rather the scolding of a lazy guard aggravated by the wolves acting up again for no reason.

Horatio silently waves for everyone to back up so they can catch the goblin or goblins by surprise when they come to check on the wolves. When Junius rushes forward instead, he rolls his eyes and fades into the shadows.

Keebler takes a position where he can fire his bow at any oncoming goblins.

Vernon clumsily follows the Junius, believing he should not go forward alone.

AdaRue sees that Vernon will be blind in just a few feet, so she also moves forward, shading the lantern a bit, hoping to hide their identity.

Dire Wolf Pens
The group slowly works forward, led by Junius. Progressing slowly, leaving gaps in their formation so as to not leave anyone standing in the the areas where the wolf have been penned up.

Junius, as he advances, is the first to observe a second pair of occupied wolf dens mirroring the first pair.

The four total wolves, starved for food (or attention), are riled up and snarling loudly.

The dwarf spies another wooden door closed at the end of the passage:

Junius reaches into his bag and breaks off a couple bites of a daily ration and tosses into the closest wolf pens.
He then refocuses on the doorway as the others move closer.

Sacro witnesses the food toss and does the same.

(1 ration removed from each. let me know if these cant be done 1/2 per wolf)

Vernon draws back his bow, ready to shoot the nosy wolf on the left, but holds his fire when he sees Junius feed them. He shrugs, hoping the foolish act will help.



AdaRue is moved by the act of kindness, but also not wanting to face the wolves. She mixes her wolfsbane into some sausages and tosses them into the cages nearest to her.

Hoping that Dave recognizes that wolfsbane is Belladonna, and therefore a poison...

Their efforts prevent, or at least delay, Vernon from peppering the noisy wolf on the left, as the fighter elects to wait to see if the feeding effort is successful. The dogs, at least temporarily, seem to be distracted by the offering.

AdaRue has other plans, however. She mixes her wolfsbane into some sausages and tosses them into the cages nearest to her. The wolves devour the sausages and it doesn't take long before the poison takes effect -- permanently quieting the dire wolves as they whimper to their deaths.

Junius, at the door, hears the following in goblin, spoken at a normal volume: "About time..."
