Tanner

Absolutely. I'm surprised you don't have one of your own.

Rool borrows Tanner's pole and pushes its far end against the starboard door. He can't get the door to budge, though—he can't seem to get enough leverage.

Xale

"I will open it, you cover me." Xale walks over to the door and checks to see if it will open without being forced, if so he opens it, staying close to the side the hinges are on. If he has to force it, he gives it a good shoulder.

Wearing Gauntlets of Ogre Power.

The Unseen Servant:

Having no need of material possessions in Hell or on Earth, the humble master ignores the coins but does gently secure the scroll case. He silently examines it for hidden dangers and, if he finds none, will open it.

Tanner

Tanner keeps his weapons in hand and moves to protect Xale if trouble pops up.

The Unseen Servant, uninterested as he is in wealth, takes the platinum scroll case. Examining it for hidden dangers, he finds none and opens it. It contains a scroll with writing the monk does not understand (unless monks have yet another power that lets them read scrolls), but Xale does (the scroll contains the clerical spells cure critical wounds, true seeing, blade barrier, and restoration).

Xale clears the way to the door. "I will open it, you cover me," he says. He checks to see if it will open without being forced. It does not. He gives it a good shoulder, but all he gets for his efforts is a sore shoulder. Hallagad also tries, with no greater success.

The Unseen Servant:

"Here, Brother Xale. This may be able to aid us in our quest," the sensei humbly said as he passed the scroll to he who could use it best.

Xale

"Thank you brother. Is anyone still in need of healing?"

Odilo "Healing well that's a matter of state of mind is it not in some cases?"

"It appears to be locked - or held in place by some magic. Do those of you skilled in the 'art' of picking locks want to give it a try?" asks Hallagad.

Odilo "Unfortunately I am not prepared to detect if magics are holding the door closed nor am I to magically dispel or open said door. Sorry."

Hallagad perks up. "Thank you for the idea, Odilo."

Remembering that his sword is capable of dispelling magic within a 5' radius, the paladin cautions others to stand back. The paladin steps to the door, and prays to Pelor as he tries to dispel any magic holding it fast.

Malibran looks up into the darkness and back at Risdac "What are our Mighty Heroes doing up there you think? It's quiet..."

Xale asks if anyone needs to be healed. No one is willing to admit to needing the help, although Tanner is clearly still feeling the effects of the multiple blows he has suffered.

Hallagad remembers that his sword is capable of dispelling magic. Cautioning everyone else back so that their magics are not also affected, he steps to the door and activates his holy sword's anti-magic magic.

Alas, the door is no easier to open than before. As best Hallagad can tell, the door is held shut by a simple, non-magical bar on the other side.

Meanwhile, not far away, Malibran and Risdac continue to wait. It's been at least an hour now that they've stood there.

Xale

Xale reads the cure critical wounds scroll on Tanner.

Cure Critical Wounds [3d8+3] = 9+3 = 12

Rool Diov

Rool examines the door and its frame, looking for any cracks or holes that may lead to the other side.

If he finds a suitable passage, he will down his Potion of Gaseous Form and pass through the gap.

Tanner

Tanner rubs his chin, watching Rool examine the door. He slips off his pack, and begins rooting through it. He pulls out a stoppered jug and studies it, thoughtfully... then shakes his head and puts it away.

Hallagad waits to see if Rool has any luck. If not, he’ll shoulder charge the door.

Odilo stays back out of the way for the moment thinking how to "Creatively" use a spell on the door "I suppose I could attempt to use disintegrate on the door. But I'd suggest everyone stand out of the room if i do. No telling how a spell will act aboard this ship."

Xale

"If you want us closer when you try it we could hide in my cube of force."
