The constable nods his head in agreement about future talks as he leaves with the others.

Nallissa rolls her swelled up eyes at the notion of charging more for the hut.

"The rate is flat, regardless of occupants, but you have both done so much for me already, I wouldn't dream of charging you another copper. Thank you both again, from the bottom of my heart."

Andronichishche bows deeply in response to Nallissa's gratitude. He provides Dexter with the location of his cabin, (one on the northeast side, close to the Hi-Lo), before retiring to his cabin to await Liam and Glansandi.

Dexter Broadleaf

Just before he leaves to get to the meeting, he reaches for Nallissa's hand and pats it gently. "Don't you ever regret charging for a fair transaction. You needed some help and we were able to give it. This place," he says with a wide wave for the entire Hi-Lo. "is your livelihood. You run it like that, understand?"
"There is no spoon."

Nallissa sighs heavily with a warm smile as the people leave her to her work.

Still visibly shaken by the recent happenings, she is truly grateful to have people around her who care more about making friends than they do about making a profit.

Andronichishche stops briefly at his hut to stow his gear before strolling to the nearby Hi-Lo building. He was aware Dexter, Daisy, and Glansandi had returned from their scouting mission yesterday, along with apparently two new arrivals, a human ranger and an elf magic-user, but as he was preparing for the trip to the island in prayer and meditation, he decided to wait until he returned to inquire on the outcome. Before doing so however, he first wanted to check in with a new friend. He stops at the sturdy door to the mercantile and quickly arranges his clothing before opening it and stepping inside, pausing at the threshold to see if Nallissa was attending the store.

Nallissa is behind her counter in the Hi-Lo, scribbling intensely into a large log in front of her. She doesn’t even look up when the young half-elf enters the store, but at least she is no longer crying.

The place looks well kept, better stocked, and very organized.

Andronichishche quietly browses the store's inventory, patiently waiting for Nallissa to complete her log entries. "Very impressive work you've done in such a short time, Mr. Nehru would have been pleased with the changes, I'm sure." He approaches the desk and procures a small mirror from his coat, and offers it to Nallissa. "And thank you for lending me your mirror, lady Nallissa. It did indeed protect me, and another, although not in the manner I had intended", he adds with a grin. "Our work on the island is not yet complete, but we did return with a large bounty of fresh fruit. We return in two days, and I would hate to deprive a lady of her mirror in the meantime."

Darklin makes his way to the hi-lo and enters the building. Having just arrived he is looking to find a good sized tent, large saddle bag and maybe a large wooden chest.

Hello anyone here? Looking for a tent. Anyone??

The rotund, dark skinned storekeeper smiles broadly at the sight of her dear friend Andronichishche. She puts down her pencil and closes her log book.

"I was worried that you wouldn't come back to us here. Not because of any silly mirror, thank you for its safe return, by the way. But because of how nice you were to me the other day. Your kind words and showing of support really helped me through the roughest times of hearing about Mr. Nehru's passing. That wasn't easy for me, so thank you again for being a friend. Even if you were a complete stranger."

"If you have any extra fruit, I wouldn't mind a few pieces for myself. To eat, not to sell. The rest you could give to the fire tenders. They are the ones who have been taking care of rationing and distribution of donated foodstuffs."

When Darklin barges into the store, the couple both look in his direction.

"Ummm yes, hi there. I am right here. Welcome to the.......ummmm......store. We do have a few tents for sale. But they are expensive. Back corner, bottom shelf, dear."

There is a small one man tent that costs 10gp.

There is a larger, well made 4 man tent for 30gp.

And there is an even larger canvas stand-up tent (that one could live in) that would sleep up to 6 people for 50gp.

Darklin walks to the back of the shop. Looks around at the tents.

You are correct. These prices are a little high.
Maybe we can strike a deal. For the largest tent if i give you 40 gold, you throw in one of those large wooden chests and a cot.
And in the future when i have my leatherwork and bow shop set up you bring me you broken arrows and bows along with any leather goods in need of repair and i will do it for half price, forever or until i pass on. I am going to come into a large amount of merchandise here after the pirates are defeated and i will bring you those first for a fair deal. Does that sound like a good deal to you?

Not to eves drop on you discussion but we just brought meat to the cooks.

Andronichishche was about to reply to Nallissa when a strange elf barrels into the mercantile ranting about tents. He waits patiently while he speaks with Nallissa, and responds with a smile and a slight bow when Darklin introduces himself. "Well met, Mr. Darklin. My name is Andronichishche, cleric and wizard in service to the temple of Rao in Niole Dra. The High Mage academy of Celene? Very impressive. I would be interested to talk magical theory and spell research with you ... when you have time, of course."

He pauses to consider Darklin as if attempting to recall something. After a couple moments he raises his right index finger, exclaiming, "Ah! You must be the elf wizard that Constable Glansandi and Mr. Dexter mentioned. I haven't yet spoke with the Constable on the details of their scouting expedition, but friendly new allies are in short supply and very welcome here." Andron turns back to Nallissa, "Lady Nallissa, in my estimation, Constable Glansandi is a very astute judge of character. He would not have invited Mr. Darklin if he sensed an unscrupulous nature."

Unscrupulous. No sir. I am very honorable. I have been asked by the Constable to lead the assault on the Pirate Camp. I just spoke with him moments ago. Mage did you say? I was looking for another Mage. Maybe we could possibly trade a few spells later on. I took out the pirates mage with a few well placed arrows on out scouting trip. You halfing brigade rescued me from the pirates. They have killed my elven search party so honor requires i return the debt to the last man. Pirates are a trashy lot. Killing, rapeing, and plundering. It must be stopped.

But i ramble. Yes i am in a hurry. Trying to get my self set up for sleep and security. Cant have my spellbooks wondering off.

So what do you think Miss. Do we have a deal?

Andronichishche raises an eyebrow with a consternated expression evident on his face. "An entire pirate camp? That is most disturbing to hear so close to town and the nearest source of fresh water. I comnend you for accepting the mantle of leadership. If you should need additional numbers, you can likely find my adventuring companions at the Treehouse tavern. I was also planning to meet with the Constable later this evening. I have some other news to relate and will ask for a debriefing of their mission."

Andron relaxes a bit when the formalities and discussion of the most recent danger are concluded, "Yes, I am also trained as a mage. I would be quite interested in a spell exchange, indeed ... when time is more accomodating, of course. Thank you."

Nallissa looks back and forth as the pair make their exchanges, not wanting to interrupt. Once the conversation has ended, she answers the elf.

“That chest is not for sale, I’m afraid. I don’t have another at the moment, but I do expect a few on the next delivery, if you don’t mind waiting. If you need items secured behind lock and key, I could keep a few items in my big safe in the back room for you, for a small fee.”

“I can sell you the big tent for 40gp, with your word that we will have an agreement to work together in the future. That is truly the best I can do, I’m afraid. These items really do cost a fortune to get shipped here, you understand. The only cot I have is 10gp.”

Nallissa waves for Andron to wait before leaving. She whispers to him while Darklin mulls over his offer.

“I want to ask you a question before you leave, if you don’t mind.”

I'll take the tent and wait for the next chest if it is included in the 40. You drive a hard bargain but I can do without the cot. Here is the 40 gold. So you still owe me a chest with lock. And I will bring as much as I can carry to you from the Pirate cache.

Darklin grabs the tent and heads out to the shack town to find a spot to set up a tent with room to set up a round outdoor forge. He choses a 10 by 30 foot section on the 5 shack row closest to the Hi-Lo. Keeping his eye on the door to see when the place is empty again. He heads back in to ask about a 10 x 10 tarp, a shovel and a hammer.

Sorry ma'am. Forgot a few things. Need a 10 foot x 10 foot tarp, a shovel and a good hammer.

Nallissa continues trying to talk and sell stuff at the same time.

“You bargain hard yourself, Mister Darklin, as I mentioned no such thing about including any chest in the price of this tent. However, I am intrigued by your offer of bringing spoils here for me to look over first. So, I will honor your deal if I like what I see when you return.”

She pats the large folded up tent like a baby she doesn’t want to see leave. “Pleasure to do business with you sir. I highly anticipate your return.”

After the elf leaves the store the first time, she talks small with Andron some more before finally asking him her question. “So what do you think about.....”

Then Darklin bursts back in with more demands of tarps and tools.

“Yes sir. We have all those things. The tarps are by the tents. 5 gold for those. And I can give you a deal on the hammer and shovel. 5 gold for the pair.”

Ok that will work. Ill take all three then. I am setting up my living quarter just out side so you will see much more of me.

He grabs a hammer, shovel and tarp off the shelves and lays 10 gold on the counter.

Say do you know where everyone is getting the firerocks from? I am in need of several. Is there an anvil around town? Blacksmith or weaponsmith? Ideas for the future.
