If there is the means to make fire, Rhodri is willing to run ahead to the city and try to fetch a cleric, while the others make camp to avoid risking them further. Thoughts?

You should be able to at least get a fire started before dark, though it will likely mean having someone scrounging for fuel after the sun goes down to keep it burning.

Numen's infravision would be good for that, I reckon!

Also, did we get the wolves' pelts, or just their meat? I think Numen didn't have to feast on his goblin corpse trophy if he got to eat wolfy meats!

Numen chants in chaotic over Quirin and Largo--the same thing he said earlier when executing goblins.

How dangerous will travel be? Like everybody make DEX check or accidentally kill someone kind of dangerous? What if we have the elves lead the way with infravision?

You have two stretchers, so nobody can "lead the way". Everyone's carrying. 4 up, 2 down.

The problem is less with major obstacles than it is with minor depressions in the ground, soft earth, sudden rocks jutting up. Things that won't show very well with infravision, if at all, causing the possibility of a spill and watching for which is one of the main reasons you haven't been progressing at full speed all this time.

Essentially it would be one random encounter check per hour with a possibility of an actual encounter but mainly requiring a random dex check when one comes up to ensure no one trips and falls/drops.

Can we know the risks, in game terms? If we stumble and drop Largo, is he going to take damage? 1d2? Something else?
For that matter, are our two invalids going to take damage if we make it to town without tripping?

They will take no further damage if you make it back successfully.

And a trip and fall will result in d2 damage each time someone loses control of the stretcher in the dark.

Staying overnight to continue the trip in daylight will be an automatic d2 damage, but no risk from falling.

So if we stay put, Largo hits -10 and dies? In that case, continuing on is a no-brainer, right?

Only a 50% chance.

Hmm, okay crew-- it's a guaranteed -1d2 if we stay. If we move on there's the chance that we won't trip, and even if we do we still have the same damage risk, but we'll be closer to town depending on how far we get. I say we have to move...

I agree with Numen; especially since after realizing what day it is, it may be hard to get a cleric to come out here. Let's just get home, folks.

March 30, 1 VC - 11:40pm

The party continues onward through the dark, knowing that at least one life hangs in the balance on their speed and their care. The walls draw closer and closer, and the party is less than a quarter-mile from the gate when Numen's foot slips on an unexpectedly loose and mossy stone, and his balance threatens to fail him, dropping Quirin's unconscious body to the hard ground.

Numen/Quirin, Bertram/Quirin, Abi/Largo, Rhodri/Largo [1d4] = 1

Dexterity check, please!

Numen curses in orcish as he struggles to find his footing.

Dex Check: [1d20] = 5

No need for Abi, just Numen! Thanks :)

Footing kept, expedition safe and successful.

Will post in a bit closing things out.
