Re: Queen Regeina's Ethical Philosophers Depart.
Garrett not wanting to allow the non-thief to get all the glory of sneaking goes off in pursuit of Montego after letting out a loud sigh.

Montego will hail the men to see how they respond to him.
Hail and well met friends! You appear in need of some help, is this not so?
He only listens to their reply while his trained eyes search the surrounding area for any signs of an ambush......Ambush.......AMBUSH!!! (sorry)

Hail Strangers!

Montego makes his presence known to the men. Hail and well met friends! You appear in need of some help, is this not so?
The ranger is wary of attack but the only thing unusual in the woods is Garrett the rogue, who approaches on horseback.
The men and horse stop. The rider is startled by Montego, and visibly shaken.
Hello stranger, he says. Help we need indeed. My friend has several broken bones after a fall off of the wall at Predius. We both need water. Are you from the camp? How many have arrived? What is our strength? -- his questions pepper the ranger.
The man does not appear to be lucid. He is not at all careful. He is likely dehydrated, and without sleep.
Garrett approaches and the man's thoughts clear up for a moment: Hello, stranger, my name is Tazerratusis of Predius -- everyone just calls me Taz. The broken one is called Banu. He is of Teutonic descent, and a fine soldier -- a 2nd generation Predian who has tenfold earned his citizenship.
Taz wears chain mail and carries a long sword. He has no pack or provisions, no bed roll, no warm cloths. Montego the ranger can tell that the travois was made in a rush -- it is a crude vehicle.
Garrett the rogue can tell that Taz is hungry.

Montego looks over his shoulder and shakes his head slowly back and forth at the site of the thief.
Yes we have provisions and water and we can help you both. Follow me to our wagon and we will get you fed and quench your thirst. he will lead the horse himself if the rider looks too disoriented.
He does not respond to any questions from these men.....yet

Back to The Wagon
Garrett, Montego, Taz and Banu arrive back at the camp with the ranger leading the stranger's horse.
Taz introduces himself and does his best to have manners despite his condition.
Party members offer him water, a little of which he drinks and then wakes the badly broken Banu to make him drink.
Taz asks, is this the camp? More horses than men? Are there no survivors from Sors? Has the contingent from Silva not arrived? And what of Westmarch?!

Re: Queen Regeina's Ethical Philosophers Depart.
Garrett "Sorry for my late entrance. I was wary of you folk. So you say there is a camp of refugees? You are the queen's people?" he peppers his own line of questions back. "We are refugees of a sort ourselves. But no we are not of Sors or Pridius."

"The refugee camp you seek is still further to the west. We are Queen's men ourselves, bit sent on a different mission. I am afraid we can answer very little about the other cities, we have been doing our best to avoid them. But Westmarch still stood when we left the capital."

Which of the two men does it seem would benefit from a healing spell from Baruch ?

Calen, still sitting quietly as the rest of the group converse with the two men, scans them with his helmet as he watches.

Re: Queen Regeina's Ethical Philosophers Depart.
A Friend and A Suggestion Made
The party nurtures and aids Banu and Taz from Predius.
Baruch brings forth divine power to improve the health of Banu:The party witnesses Banu's crooked form straightening before their eyes. The man is relieved of much pain.
The men drink and eat and listen to the party. Titus divulges the location of the camp they seek.
Taz tells of the loyalist defeat at Predius and how Merit's army sapped the walls and forced a wide breech. Banu and Taz took a fall when the wall collapsed. Taz was knocked out. When he woke, it was dark, but he found the broken Banu, later a horse, and they escaped. It was a miracle.
Taz tells the party: This location was chosen as a rendezvous point many weeks ago. Any loyalists from Silva Sacer, Predius, Sors and Westmarch who are forced from their post will meet in these woods.

Taz takes note of the wagon's contents and continues: The plan is to regroup and find a way to stop Merit's advance toward the Queen.
We could use you guys. At the very least, we could use some of these horses and these weapons, he says pointing at the wagon.
If you wish to join or donate some gear there might be something others can do for you. I don't know where you people go or what you seek.
It would be kind of you all to meet those at the camp and consider donating what looks like extra kit.
Will the party travel to the loyalist camp and consider giving aid? Could the loyalist (now rebels) help the party?
Actions!!!

Montego
I think having two people know of our whereabouts is not so bad......having an entire camp know of us is not advisable. We have put you in danger enough already as we are hunted men, but I couldn't just leave the two of you in that condition. He then looks around the group I will not speak as the decision maker here but I think we best be on our way soon.
I suppose we could have a couple of us bring what we can spare and retrieve any information that we can from this camp while the others wait here but, I will go along with just leaving it with these two and getting on our way as well.

Re: Queen Regeina's Ethical Philosophers Depart.
So does anybody wish to visit the camp or do we pack up the horses with extra supplies and let these soldiers take them to camp?
Personally, I don't like the thought of delivering the goods ourselves. Not that I'd let these gentlemen know it. Allies or not, this is war and they might believe their survival is more important than our mission, and just try to take what they need.

Taz
Montego said,
Merit's forces are busy consolidating their new conquests. We should be safe out here -- far from roads and far from the front lines, Taz says.
Garrett says,
Taz addresses Garrett: Do you know Tel Ferringer? The leader of the Milita from Westmarch? He should be at the camp. He has become kinda famous lately.
A big man named "Titus" was in charge of the military in Westmarch but he was dispatched to perform a mission for the queen. After the death of Sir Clarence Whitefield, the Green Knight, Tel took over all things Military in Westmarch. He harassed Merit's army so badly that they made Westmarch a big priority even though it is a small town. Tel devised hit and run tactics -- he took 10 lives for every one he lost -- every one in the know is talking about Tel. He swore an oath to be in these woods at this time. He would be a good man of whom to make an acquaintance.
If your party would consider going to camp and donating your surplus equipment, I'm sure Tel would find a way to help you. What direction are you headed? What is your mission?
Montego said,
We are all hunted men. You have put us in no extra danger. And you have our thanks for the relief and assistance. We have put you in danger enough already as we are hunted men, but I couldn't just leave the two of you in that condition

Garrett being from Westmarch "Tal yeah I know him, not well but being that I am from Westmarch myself I do know of the man. If you would like the extra weapons, armor and horses by all means you have my blessing to take them for the cause. It's just slowing us down right now."

Baruch, (amazed that a healing spell could jump spontaneously from his hand) first says to himself: "Wow, automatical target-seeking healing; praise Guth for making me a more skilled cleric than I thought!",
then to Taz: "Have you, among enemy forces, seen any men in...strange clothes, who seem to disappear and reappear as by magic ?"
and: "What news from Narconia, in whose hands is it now ?"

Calen does not offer any words to the conversation, he also does not voice up at the prospect of the men taking the extra horses and goods, it seems he does not mind the thought... or care really.

Re: Queen Regeina's Ethical Philosophers Depart.
Titus shows no hint of recognition when his name is brought up in conversation. Although he would like to help, the queen has put them on a different course.
Titus is waiting for a party decision. I have stated my opinion that I am fine offering supplies, but unless the entire party wants to go, I would rather not dally at the camp, making the others restless.
