Re: Collace Homecoming
Frank
Since Frank has recon (and who else does? not sure, but if he knows somebody else has a suitable stealthy skill then we will call them forward to join him) he will take the point and have the others stay a short distance behind the group on point.
He will hand-signal for silence, as he starts to make his way up the stairs towards the officers floor:
Recon (1): [2d6+1]=7+1=8
I'm not sure if everyone here is still armoured (and so helmeted or not) and if so if we all have laser comms available. If so then we should be able to communicate that way.

Yep, just one and only for 100m and only so long as a fibre cable remains intact and untangled. They brought a jammer of note. The Bindoner wrote: ↑Tue May 23, 2023 7:33 pm Conversationally: Hey, Freya, Hun? Your team got any little toys that can go ahead?
The ones outside can be used, later, to review how these guys got in - but can't get too close lest they crash or get turned.
We can jam them though. Then no one has radio comms. Meanwhile we can use fibre too, but that has its limitations.

Re: Collace Homecoming
Frank, Kit, Klaus
All three make to move tactically up the return flight of stairs when they all (OCC: Recontastic!
) spot movement in the cover of the corner at the top of the flight of stairs. As they make tactical response a female voice they all recognise (Frank, Kit, Klaus in order of familiarity) asks “Could someone please pass me my towel?”
Presuming either that chivalry lives - or that Frank eventually wins the tug of war...
Polly deftly grabs the towel and waves everyone forward to where the lift/stair lobby door leads to “Officer Country”. Nearly everyone notices that Polly owns a very nice towel - yer top quality cotton equivalent there but in size maybe not the full "bath sheet" but more of a (barely) medium type in size. She rather incongruously also carries a folded fan with her.
From the back of the company Trooper King makes a small involuntary "Fffnnnurrpp!" noise.
"Kingy, shut it!!!"
"Sorry Corp it's me trouble playin' up - I'll 'ave a fisherman's friend*".
Meanwhile Polly reminds all of the layout: (OOC: You are all currently where the stairs (arrow) is).
Then continues "I think they came in over one of the balconies". She takes Frank's arm as she relates levelly "Two tried for our room. They were dealt with but one had an energy blade. Sazanami deliberately took a thrust - she is badly hurt". Polly continues "Our comms failed and Sazanami stated there were at least four more killers and just the old man and his boy minding Major Nayar's room. She said they would stand no chance. We made a distraction and got out. I held back and ordered Sazanami on. She wasn't at all pleased but I insisted".
Muffled voices can be heard within (consistent with shouting through respirators) but they also have a strange drawl...
(OOC: * A violently nasopharyngeal purgative lozenge similiar only in strength to old Alaxandrian snuff...).

Re: Collace Homecoming
Frank, Klaus
Frank and Klaus move into the accommodation block as lead pair. The immediately see another pair of stealth suited bodies both in the hallway outside Frank's open front door – both have been decapitated. Oddly one has apparently (also?) been killed by the front end of a shinobigatana either cut off post mortem or, possibly more incredibly, hammered home with an open hand strike at the exact time of death. A type of energy blade pulses shorting bursts of power as it has impaled itself some way into the hallway floor.
The pair note smoke or dust lightly obscures the hallway but figures are visible beyond it. Two figures in stealth suits appear from the right hand corridor. One is armed with a combat shotgun the other has a large calibre pistol. Their movement seems tactically sound but almost comically laboured and slow. If it is them shouting then their speech is a drawn out basso moan.
Beyond them at the furthest end of the corridor another stealth suited figure wearing a climbing harness stands on the balcony gesturing at their offhand wrist and quite clearly shouting “Time! Time! What the fek are you wonkers all doing??? Move, move... aww, shiiiit!”
In apparent response to his own “movement sighting” he brings up a big calibre SMG slung from his tactical vest.
Legend:
Badguys in Brown A,B,C with K = KIA
SEMC in Purpleish F + Frank, Kl = Klaus with "folk various" behind.
(OOC: Now you could attempt a parley at this point...
But it seems you are about to enter (Snapshot speed) "Bullet time".
For dongriffiths you have two broad choices: either shoot twice each at -2 (merc PCs with an autofire weapon can usually easily "tank" this) or place an aimed shot at no penalty plus full bonuses. NB Moving will reduce this to three "map squares" and one snap shot. PC bonuses will include: Weapon Skill, Dex with that weapon, Autofire bonus for that weapon. Now I wouldn't want to encourage violent thoughts but you are Rifle +2, Dex with the "honey" ACR +2, ACR Autofire bonus = +2).

Frank
Going for speed rather than accuracy Frank brings up his guass rifle and fires of two bursts at the man on the balcony:
It's been a, while, hope I have this right. Snapshots with the gauss rifle.
Gauss Rifle: [_2d6+4]=(4+1)=5+4=9, locn [1d8]=3, dmg [_2d6+6]=(6+3)=9+6=15
Gauss Rifle: [_2d6+4]=(5+4)=9+4=13, locn [1d8]=3, dmg [_2d6+6]=(4+5)=9+6=15
On top of this I think he gets +3 from auto fire and -2 from snapshot

Re: Collace Homecoming
Frank 'n Klaus Is it me or does that sound like a festive monster???
Oh, and Jess might feature... Shush!

Frank and Klaus move into the corridor with controlled aggression. While Klaus aims right Frank sees the reaction of the figure on the balcony and immediately fires a controlled burst of gauss needles just as his target returns fire with a suppressed Snub SMG. Frank sees his burst strike home. At least one needle scores across his target's chest while another impacts his thigh. Frank sees the limb deform and his target staggers against the balcony perhaps fortunate not to pitch over it. Meanwhile explosive rounds accurately detonate on his left shoulder and forearm. Frank feels a dull pain in his bicep but then his vision swims and he can't catch his breath. The feeling is but momentary as he notes his armour's medikit has expended a dose of SuSAG factory grade Universal AntiToxin. Incredibly he further sees his opponent put weight on his broken leg and bring his SMG up again.
Not having to adjust his aim Frank fires again - and fires first. On target. His first round smacks straight through his target's centre mass and he staggers forwards. He's trying to regain his balance when the next round takes him clean through skull motif on his IR goggles and mask. His limbs go limp and he's dropping like a stone even as another gauss needle rips through his centre mass in a violent through and through killshot. Frank thinks he got another hit but is already looking to shoot someone not already dead.
He subdues the subconscious part of his brain that begins to process just why these scum, even in mortal peril, would deliberately and spitefully shoot up the flower beds and worse even target the Regimental Snuff Horn on its shelf near the balcony...
The midmost attacker (Assassin B) dredges an autosnub from his shoulder rig with appaling slowness and bellows at his mate "Owwwt. Owwwt. Therrrrr're runnnnning Commmmbbbatt Slllowww!!!"
As Frank takes aim for his second burst Klaus exhales and takes aim on the guy sluggishly raising his shotgun. Klaus makes no mistake and puts his rounds on target. One of his first smashes through the target's upper arm and clearly "collects" on the way through driving a chunk of it along the path of the round and ripping his shotgun away from the aim. He's attempting to turn back towards Klaus when the next high velocity sabot penetrates his respirator. All his limbs instantly go limp and he simply drops into the turn and collapses onto the hallway floor.
The familiar waft of CPR propellant fills the corridor
