So, assuming that only One is ghosted then I can only think the others are for distraction and potentially protection. They must be planning on dropping something off or picking it up.

Can our drones be used as laser comms relays? Perhaps not for now but for other operations.

Or even using RF for the first hop as it might provide better coverage in the urban arena and then pass it in via laser.

The answer(s) of course begin with "It depends..." but:

overcoming local TL10 security measures and detection devices would be difficult with equivalent tech gear but would tend towards routine at higher tech levels. The force detected by Freya has the profile of a military Intruder or Stealth mission.

The starport is about a 20 min ground vehicle drive (dependant on driver recklessness) but mere minutes in a grav vehicle. On Avastan grav vehicles tend to get more attention from those looking for trouble (because they usually contain it) and by default are picked up on air traffic and anti collision sensors. They also put out a larger sensor signature as they radiate via their navigation aids etc - unless they deliberately don't.

Tonight visibility is poor and Avastan's snow seems to collect atmospheric impurities and therefore behaves a bit like "chaff/window" as far as some sensors are concerned. This might stop anyone noticing your vehicles in flight but once in downtown Avastan City they would be visible in the cleaner air with the Mk 1 eyeball for what they are. However, although your IFVs look like exactly that your paramilitary G Carriers might take a second glance to get "rumbled" - more so without their weapons mounted.

Exiting the merchant in the poor visibility seems very doable and, provided the grav pilot disregards all safety procedures, a low dash into the sensor clutter of Startown would likely stay off most folks' radar both figureatively and literally. In fairness the obvious exception here would be the starships parked directly next to you but your antics are much less likely to be of any interest to them.

This is very doable with Freya's team skills and resources. You will end up with two relay capable "comms" drones and no laser comms spares but that shouldn't be critical.

OK, I was going to have Jakob to put together a recovery team just in case. But the more I think about it maybe this is a job for Gaughan's team

There's room for a couple more in the "Trouble Bus". From Kit's squad Route One looks like he should be protesting about something most of the time and so whilst not quite on message for this jaunt does look distinctly unmilitary (in a "Techno Viking" kinda way). By likewise coincidence Ink looks entirely like a ganger girl from Collace's underhive and with her extensive tats also looks "civilian".

Able has wangled coming along as the van driver Camp Freddie will volunteer as "wheels man" for the saloon (on the grounds that he has the proper gloves for it). Seemingly yer rolled down driving gloves are the pinnacle of getaway style...

If we're just trying to get alongside the pirate crews, it's a fairly female-majority (8/5?) group, though only Sugar really looks like a party-girl.

If we're only doing straight recon to start with, we could be money. If we're still going to open a local office to buy "surplus" and recruit, this could be our entry to the scene.

What is the visibility in the weather?...Snow is a bastard on LOS.

It's lighter fall but blowing in in patches. The gaps are a few hundred metres closing down to much less and near enough zero in the centre of a "snow squall".

Is there anything useful that those of us back at the ship could be doing? Plotting positions of radio traffic about the port? Trying to locate the second port by similar means? Putting up a drone to watch over traffic movements? Polishing the heads in preparation for the return of a party of drunken revellers?

I'm sorry I just haven't had the capacity to run (much of) a parallel plotline for you but please assume you will get the benefits of having run a starship sensor suite at point blank range for a period of time suitable for significant identification and analysis of certain starport based assets.

Not that I'm aware of (hence the nudge) but willing to stand corrected!

Although, in fairness, folk are... busy!

Effective voice comms will be challenged by the auditory environment and the mechanics of transmission by the physical environment (enclosed building, interference).

So, in this case (and as per the above), I will require a Comms roll.

While getting help to the club isn't immediately doable (and local merc back up is on hand: Cpls Able, baker and their oppos) a more strategic consideration of the consequences of the incident might be worthwhile...
