Part 3: Of Wolf and Man
Re: Part 3: Of Wolf and Man
Did Arastor notice if the passage continued on from the chamber or does it end there?

Arastor nods his head. "Yes, 1 by itself is a fight. I only suggested it as with them sleeping, we would have an advantage in taking them out. But the tunnel appears to end in that cavern anyway. We can always back-track and tack another tunnel."Dram wrote:Krakus- Not happy with the idea of fighting Owlbears. Are you sure. I hear one is quite the battle. We got 2 of them in their.

Re: Part 3: Of Wolf and Man
If you back track there are the other two tunnels the one to the left and to the right.

Pheras is disappointed that he didn't see the owlbears but is back to realizing how dangerous it could have been, "Left or right?"

Arastor
"Either is fine with me. So the left it is."
Arastor proceeds down the left tunnel.

Re: Part 3: Of Wolf and Man
Alright close enough
The party backtracks successfully with out waking the slumbering owlbears. To the junction where they then take the left passage instead. This passage snakes around and ends up going down even deeper into the underground to the point where Maithis can determine that your party is about 300 feet underground at this stage heading in a southern direction, the passage is natural make and starts to be covered in a sort of smile or film of sorts along the passage walls and floor. It reeks as well but not of wet dog it's a smell that nobody is able to quite place what it is.

Re: Part 3: Of Wolf and Man
Bandir whispers, "Our mission is the wolfweres. If we don't need to fight them we should avoid them. Let's back track and take another path???? I'll help fight if need be but if we can avoid a fight we should."
Re: Part 3: Of Wolf and Man
Arastor nods, "I agree. It bothers me that I can't place this smell but I agree that the wolfweres are most likely not here. I'll mark the wall should we have to return so we need how far we progressed." Arastor takes his dagger out and makes an "x" on the wall to mark how far they went before turning around.
Re: Part 3: Of Wolf and Man
Krakus- agrees with the group about avoiding unneeded battles. Yes, let us backtrack to the other cave.

Re: Part 3: Of Wolf and Man
There is one more passage left un-explored or are you just going to go all the way back out to the other cave entrances?

I say we try the last remaining tunnel before going all the way out of the cave system

Re: Part 3: Of Wolf and Man
Back tracking again after marking the passage with an X to show where you have already gone. The party takes the right most passage and it winds around and heads a little upwards before snaking around and heading back down a bit then levels off the smell of wet dog gets stronger the further you go down this passage then it looks like about 30' ahead it opens into a cavern and it sounds like something or somethings are chewing on something or someone as you can hear the sounds of crunching on bone the tearing of meat or skin as something is devouring some sort of food ahead in that cave it sounds like it could be a pack of somethings but is hard to tell at this distance.

Re: Part 3: Of Wolf and Man
Bandir draws his bow ready to go in on Arastor's signal in hopes of surprising them. He signals the others to be ready on Arastor's signal. He'll identify targets and fire immediately if he has a clear shot.
Free shot when drawn before initiative and if we are lucky we surprise them.
Thac0 19 [1d20+1] = 9+1 = 10, Dmg Sm [1d8] = 6, dmg L [1d8] = 7 Not counting any surprise bonus or rear bonus if it applies.

Pheras follows Bandir through and firs a sling shot
Sling: [1d20+3] = 3+3 = 6, damage: [1d4+1] = 4+1 = 5
