Unless you're a paladin who doesn't realize he was supposed to do that!
Either way, welcome!

When I worked in Bangladesh, I took a short cut one day down a street that was home to several tanneries

It was...intense. I won't forget that smell any time soon.

As a chemist for the past 34 years and someone who has tanned his own hides before I can handle some pretty bad smells.

Was interested in exploring the 'hirelings' angle, but perhaps that has already been done?
Hirelings are always available, you need only ask. (see Cobb and the recently deceased Dubricus)
I think you have 13 folks going back already.
How many more do you think you'll need?

Ok, I think that will have to do for now

Good to go.

My pleasure!
As mentioned, you’ll need it.
Can everyone please post their Hit Die rolls in your private sheet threads in case we need to access them again in the future.
Thanks!

Meinhardt is intelligent enough to know assaulting cave (K) at this point would be suicide. Aside from attempting to rescue Rida and Haldric from cave (C) and assuming they don't just leave Crabgrass to his fate, the next logical options appear to be ...
Look into cave (H) where that large humanoid spied upon them, go across to the goblin caves and risk encountering that troll again, or wait a couple days and help the gnolls reclaim their cave and try to enlist their help.
At least there's only one troll?

Well, Crobeus won't wait a couple of days. He's heading back in the morning even if no one else was willing to go. Seeing himself as the group's protector, he feels that he is personally responsible for three of the group being captured. He's going to try freeing Rida and Haldric first. After that...he would prefer going after Crabgrass but might be able to be convinced that it would be a fool's errand.
