Qleceec
Back towards the recent battle. Trying to locate a spot she feels it is safe to discuss our next action.

We should head back the way we came, just beyond the glade with the gems. That seems to be where their perimeter starts. I think we'd be fine pitching a camp there, with or with a defensive structure since they have the numbers.
Who's missing horses? I'll go look for them myself before the sun goes fully down.
Androgost will note those w/o horses and ride back to the battlefield to see what he finds.

Currently the party has the four horses that belong to Androgost, Siouxsie, Boff and Franny
The last known location of the missing horses and the directions refer to the direction they were seen heading from the location of the previous battle.
Qleceec - Both horses seen dead by Qleceec (One killed by gas and one killed by Shtelke)
Nah Olos - It appears to have wandered off in the combat, location unknown.
Garrant - It "bolted" to the east
Hex - It was stolen by a Shtelke heading west
Raffi - It was stolen by a Shtelke heading west

Siouxsie
Trusts the ranger and fighters to pick a suitable defensible spot for camping.
I would like to take some of those gems to study. If they are used for scrying devices, it might be something she can tweak to her own advantage. Fine tuning her 'oneness with the elements' and all that to see if she can use them to scry for herself at some point.
I would give up on the captive horses. Mostly likely dragon food.

Nah Olos "How close do you think that contingent of Dwarves is? They could boost our numbers. Deal with the threat now, before those babies grow up to reinforce their numbers."

If you are talking about the dwarves that were patrolling the hills around the city that you warned about the hill giants they are two days back on horseback. If you are talking about the dwarves that you are heading for they are three days on horseback.

Hex dismisses the talk of getting his pony back. Unless we storm their lair it’s unlikely the two ponies will still be alive. I don’t think that’s what we are planning tonight right?

Nah, I like your thinking. We should talk more on this. Maybe the hill giants have no friends in these Shtelke as well.
In reply to Storm whist handing him a vial of healing: Heading back the way we came, just beyond the glade with the gems, to pitch a camp would not be storming the stone structure. Regroup, lick our wounds and plan next actions... that is next.
Androgost will head off at speed to see if he can locate Garrant's steed. He'll spend a max of 20-30 minutes.
OCC: Potion of healing deducted.

Hexthanks the cavalier but hands it back. I have some potions of healing myself. It seems a little reckless to use them first when we have spells of healing that can be recovered relatively easily still available. No?

Qleceec
"We should at least stay paired off, no one alone at any time."
She will search with Androgost.

Boff looks at his horse affectionately and sighs. Once we survive the night, we might want to consider using our remaining mounts as bait to bring these things back for a battle at a time of our choosing. But for now, I think we need to figure our where we spend the night.
Clarification, Boff is not going to head off on his own, I was just highlighting the sorts of things he would be keeping an eye out for as we travel.

In the Jotens - Back to the trail
Evening Starday, 8th day of Planting, 597
3rd day since leaving Loftwick
Qleceec (AC 1, HP 48/63)
Androgost (AC -6, HP 55/65, Armor 21/26) - horse
Nah Olos (AC 4, HP 31/53)
Siouxsie (AC 2, HP 33/48) - horse
Garrant (AC 8, HP 24/50)
Hex (AC 5, HP 19/27)
Raffi (AC 6, HP 16/21)
Boff (AC 5, HP 49/61) - horse
Franny (AC 4, HP 26/26) - horse
Before the group leaves the area, Siouxsie "picks" two of the topaz. She notices the "string" holding them isn't string at all but some kind of slightly sticky membrane. When picked they do grow warm (+5 degrees F) for a few moments and then return to the ambient temperature. They are forth 5 and 6 gp respectively.
After some discussion the party decides to march back on the trail (back towards town) about 1/2 mile so that they are clear that there are no more of the hanging topaz crystals in the area. They find in the new marching order that Hex is the whom the adventurers need to wait for given his 6" move.
There is some discussion of using a Healing potion, but that is not done.
Nah Olos floats the idea of heading back for the dwarven patrol for reinforcements, and Androgost floats a potential alliance with the Hill Giants as an enemy of my enemy kind of thing. If those are going to be acted on that most likely would be tomorrow.
During the half-mile back down the trail, the group is on the look out for cave or perhaps Qleceec finding signs of larger animals. None are found in that short 1/2 mile walk. The group does find pair of rocks that will provide some shelter (about 4-5' tall, and about 10-12' long).
Siouxsie and Hex believe the missing horses are gone for good, but Androgost is determined to look for them. Qleceec decides that people should not be travelling alone and says she will search with him. Androgost (mounted I assume) and Qleceec (on foot) start the trek back to the sight of the battle which is about a mile away at this point.
Hex starts laying out his magic stones around the camp.
Actions?

Siouxsie
Goes over to her drinking and arm wrestling buddy,
Nah Olas
"Mere scratches. Seen deeper claws marks and bites from tavern whores and stable girls." she says, checking over his wounds, applying a bandage. She holds his arm firm, praying as she does so, crushing some mistletoe into the wounds and committing his healing into divine hands.
"Can't have my meat-shield losing all the meat off his bones just yet. Well, almost as good as new.",

Not sure what happened with this macro a normal CSW is 2d8+1, the House Rule for a 9th level Cleric/Druid is that one of the d8 -> d4+4 so the macro should be 1d8+1d4+5. The House Rule is designed not to raise the max, but do remove some of the very low rolls.

Druid
- Cure Light Wounds - The lowest possible roll is a 1 at levels 1-2, a 2 at levels 3-4, 3 at level 5-6, etc. The since we are not limited by physical dice this should be a d8 for levels 1-2, d7+1 for levels 3-4, d6+2 for level 5-6, etc.
- Cure Serious Wounds - This is the same a CLW+d8+1

My notes:
Cure Light Wounds: minimum healing is 5hp per spell due to level bonus. (Roll 1d4+4 not 1d8).
Cure Serious Wounds: follows above with a bonus of 1d8+1. [So 2d4+8 + (1d8+1)] = 13-25hp healing ... (2d7+11).
Ok. I think I misunderstood your House Rule as to include a d8+1 bonus. So to get between 7-17points:
Siouxsie: casts enhanced Cure Serious Wounds [1d11+6]=9+6=15

Since walking travel will likely be a reality for some of you.
- For things that were on your horse you should be planning on the potential of NOT having the lost those items

- Let's look at encumbrance, carrying everything and the kitchen sink may no longer be possible.

Will have gone alone. As indicated, a 20-30 minute reconnoiter at a decent speed, sword not drawn.

Nah Olos "Thanks." He watches the area, pacing back and forth in an arc around the camp while the others set it up.
the climbing gear would probably be on his horse, maybe a weapon or two (morningstar, falchion)
