The Unseen Servant forums

Many years ago, there was Google Groups, remember that? This was near the beginning of pbp forums, but I had a lot of fun in those groups, and like Ed, met a lot of good players. I wish I could still access those groups somehow and go back through some of the games I was in.
Another great forum I joined in 2004 (maybe 2006?) was simply called Online Role-Playing.com (ORP). Ran one of the best games of my life on there and met a lot of great players, one of which is now a good friend and plays in my 5e game here. Membership and games dwindled and eventually, the entire forum just disappeared. Took a lot of my gaming notes and contacts

I was never on the google ones. Started with Roll20 then ran into SilverBen there and he asked me to join a game here. Rest is history.

My story would be good ol Ron Redmond advertising for here on the Google Groups, if it wasn't for him I'd not have found this place when I did. Thankfully it gave me a place to be when the groups went away.

GreyWolfVT, Just recently when a player asked to continue the game in a thread, I set one up, giving them the information on whom they could talk to, in order to do business in Leilon, (Sleeping Dragon's Wake).
A couple of players, mention what they were going to do but, did nothing really to engage the townsfolks or each other, and no one else bothered to post at all.

Typically, it has been that the ones that role-play with minute unneccessary long-winded details that typically ask for it.

For me, it has never worked when giving the players the opportunity to continue gaming after the session and such an opportunity is always open. Everyone just waits for the session to happen basically.

Once Gary and Kallen are all set I think I can proceed and pick up where we left off.

Sorry for my big delaying of the game for the last year. I've been trying to get out of my current "dead end" job mostly due to the way my boss is. I may well have finally got my luck turned. Nothing 100% official yet but I've been informed I will be receiving an offer letter for a place that will allow for me to further my skills and have places to move up to rather than always working level 1 Tech Support.

The next stage after that will be maybe next year moving out of my current location. I've been sick of living in the same town I grew up in (sadly) it hasn't gotten better over time. But nothing 100% official on that either but the wife and I are looking to move across the board to New Hampshire possibly closer to Keene, but that won't be for at least a year.

No problems, sometimes RL just sucks all your energy away.

Yes I am! Been a tough winter for me, hoping Spring brings its promise of change.

I will check in with him. He just started a new job so I know things have been kind of crazy for him.

I play on 4 different sites for my D&D fun.
Unseenservant, D&DBeyond, Discord PBP (not live), Freeforums.net and I've been on in the past Obsidian Portal.

I like the first 3 platforms, but I enjoy them all.

D&DBeyond is visually appealing, and it seems to be integrated into the D&D mechanics nicely. They have some campaigns that are integrated and easy to run..

I will agree with you on the first two. I tried a PBP on Discord a few times and I didn't like it. For live chat or chat and video games it worked nicely though.

I know how that goes. I will be going through it here in about 2 weeks. I start a new job on May 1st.
