Brandy
Brandy runs to her pack and puts it on. Taking bow in hand she moves to the forward deck ready to rain arrows into the sea.

The Knife
Hearing the cries of alarm, The Knife looks up the blade in his lap, then back down. "Swirls in the water, hey? Well, you'll be no good for that". He puts the weapon back in its sheath and looks around for an alternative.
In a rack over by the rigging he spots a line of belaying pins. He picks one up and tests the weight. Satisfied, The Knife tucks three in his belt. Then he crouches down and finds a secure handhold. "Attacked, sunk, or capsized? What do you reckon Knife?"

"Well folks this doesn't sound good. I think we may wish to prepare ourselves for the worst". With that she heads below, where she will change to her blouse/breeches/boots, and will put her astrolabe, cartography instruments, spell book and components, and her paper/pen/ink in her bag. Belting on her daggers. Then she'll return to deck.

Re: To The Island!
Drakkar
The Dwarf storms off below-deck where he would remove his chain mail and put on a pair of worn woolen pants, a smudged and soot-covered leather tunic and a pair of rat-gnawed boots. He straps his weapon on his back, mouthing a string of rather obscene Dwarven curses.
<Dwarven> "This be a Giant's wedding, all things be crazed! Damn me once for setting foot upon water, curse me twice for seein' eye-to-eye with them Tree Miners, pox me thrice for lingering about a Half-Pint named JINX, of all things!", Drakkar spits the words through clenched teeth, summarily and unceremoniously pushing the rest of his belongings in a broad backpack.
<Dwarven> "Her mother must have been a curbed hag; the bloody Rat curs't me to slip and fall unto water! And lo! moments later she comes true! Hag-spawn wit' a foul potent tongue, better watch out Drakkar!", he keeps mumbling to himself unhappily as he surfaces on the deck anew. He would look for a bit of rope and tie himself loosely against the nearest rail, while scanning the sea ahead of them.

Keyon
The agile elf's first instinct is to obtain a better view and distance from any imminent threat. With that goal in mind, he leaps into the rigging and pulls himself up arm over arm to the highest point he can reach. Securing himself to the mast, he shades his eyes with one hand and scans the sea below them.

The elf starts for the prow of the ship. She doesn't know what they stand up against, but nevertheless she takes her sling and a bullet. She joins the crew there and starts staring at the swirls in the water. "Captain Quark, do you know what that is?"

Returning to the deck she makes her way near Drakkar, and says in Dwarven "Master Dwarf such language, it really is unbecoming of a gentleman". She joins the others in observing this dangerous marvel of the sea.

Re: To The Island!
The Open Sea
The sailors on the Twisted Fate begin to take a far more serious approach to their discovery once the captain calls them all to arms. They rush for spears and crossbows mounted on the wall of the forecastle and take up positions at the prow of the ship. The captain then makes an announcement to the entire ship, escorting the common passengers back away from the danger area.
"We need everyone to remain on deck and stay calm. We have encountered these things before, and they can be dangerous. But if everyone stays away from the side rails, you should be fine!" Quark ushers a few more townsfolk away from the action before finishing.
"If any of you adventurers have bows or spells, get to the front of the ship with the crossbowmen! NOW!!!"
Keyon climbs up into the rigging, much to the chagrin of the captain. There he spots the swirls in the water the crewmen shouted about. Big swirls. They are still a good distance in front of the vessel, but the ship is heading straight for them. Every few seconds, the elf sees the back of a whale-like creature surface slightly before diving back under the water again. There appear to be several of these ocean dwelling creatures out there.
Actions?
Keyon elven thief (Paladin)
Brandy half-elven cleric/ranger (Darklin)
Feanol elven magic user (Ahlmzhad)
Drakkar dwarven fighter (Holy_Rage)
Elnaerel elven cleric (Baldorar)
Jinx halfling fighter/thief (Storm)
Fitz gnomish illusionist/thief (Hedgeknight)
The Knife gnomish thief (Jernau)

"Never fear, Captain!" Keyon calls with a grin. "I will treat your beautiful vessel with the utmost tenderness." He quickly scans the water and counts the swirls, noting their locations and relaying that information to those on deck. His sharp eyes sweep left and right.

The young elf gets ready, following Quarks orders and forms with the rest of the marksmen. She holds her sling on her right hand, a bullet already in it. She feels her heart racing and a drop of sweat starts running down her forehead. She's been in combat before, but never at the sea, never against alien bestial creatures.

The Knife
"Can be dangerous?" mutters the gnome. "Well, it can't be dangerous if it's dead, can it Knife?" He pauses, looks at the knife, then looks up again. "Quite right. Let's go and sort them out".
The Knife pulls one of the belaying pins out of his belt and jogs towards the bow.

With no martial abilities that would be of any assistance in a fight against a great beast of the deep such as they now faced, she readies herself in case her spell is needed, and stands by to assist in any way she can.

Re: To The Island!
The Open Sea
As the common passengers move out of the way, the adventuring types begin to gather at the front rails to get a closer look at their target. As the ship approaches the swirls, they suddenly disappear just as quickly as they appeared, leaving the water around them as calm as the rest of the oceans surface.
"Oh shit," the captain mutters under his breath as the swirls fade away.
That's when Keyon, the former elven sailor, spots something else as he scans the sea to the right and left. He is shocked to find that there are now two wakes being created perpendicularly on both sides of the ship. These strange wakes are led by long dark figures under the water and they are heading straight for both broad sides of the ship simultaneously.
Once the other lookouts begin shouting, the adventurers and crewmen alike rush over to the sides of the ship again and begin shooting arrows and bolts into the rapidly approaching dark forms in the water.
Actions!
Ok, time for a little target practice to make sure everyone's macros are in order.

Jinx moves to the new threat on the side of the ship arrow knocked, waits until the captain’s crew start to fire, and then launches her own arrows.

The petite elf swings her sling above her head, not wanting to hit any of the the warriors combating the fiend (or fiends?) swirling in the waters.
Sling (bullet) - To hit [1d20] = 7; Dmg [1d4+1] = 4+1 = 5
