At this point I just need a direction or a plan for the party, everyone is still by the well chilling and admiring their newly tainted friends.

Re: OOC
Hey guys, ridiculously slammed at work and especially as the year ends. I am keeping an eye on the thread, but obviously not jumping in too often unless there are reactionary actions to be made. My characters are generally following the group. Rolfo and Boog prefer to be up front though, if appropriate. Thanks for your patience.
Re: OOC
Not a problem Slighted but thanks for giving an update. i'll try to npc you as we go forward though it seems like a lot of folks are really busy with the end of the year approaching.

Re: OOC
I won't take away anything i've already given but from now on I think i'm just going to use the default book and maybe a few ideas I come up with on my own for corruption results. Using the Metamorphica is fun but it seems to me like it makes the game feel more like a superhero game and less like a dungeon crawler.
If the majority want me to return to using the metamorphica I will but I think it may pull away from the DCC core concept in some regards. I also end up having to fudge certain abilities like what was coming up with Gully who has the Unholy House luck bonus from character generation, without the same table setup it makes that not bonus he gets not very helpful.
Thanks to everyone for your patience as I feel things out as we go.

Re: OOC
Sparkles I apologize if there is confusion and if we need to have a discussion so I can clarify something please let me know.
1.) I run demi-humans to have racial default abilities that cant be taken away like movement speed differences, or elven weakness to iron at 0th level but I don't give the special abilities starting at 0th level. So Dwarves can't shield bash yet, halflings cant use their luck abilities, and elves cant cast spells yet. Otherwise demi-humans feel and run like 1st level characters and I think those special abilities represent the experience of adventuring and are akin to the skilled adventurers of those races.
2.) I did use the corruption bonus but it was nullified because Gully's luck is at a -2 from the luck burning to make the reflex save and that negative applies to corruption rolls. The roll for the well just to give you some behind the scenes is also 1d16 + 5 + Personality bonus and normally a high roll is good just not in this scenario.
That being said I feel bad having changed the way I handled corruption midway through and I forgot to post the roll as I originally intended so I will give a one time DM freebie and re-roll the 2 corruption rolls . Let the dice fall where they may.

Hi guys, almost coming out of the dark. I am traveling through this weekend and I'll try to get caught up on the threads in the next few days.
Re: OOC
Hey Guys, I noticed posts seem way down as of late I was just curious if everyone was okay or if there's something about the game that has folks less enthused. I'm a big boy I can take it if the latter is the case i'd rather get better than have a bunch of silent players
.

Re: OOC
Fine here, just busy with teaching, new semester under way, and waiting for my turn to come around... (you're still running this battle that way, right? or do you want actions declared for all?)
Was happy to see Burt get a kill! He might just get a taste for this adventuring life...

Re: OOC
The initiative as suggested in the book for 0 level characters is group based the only change i'm putting in is the removal of readies and delayed actions which should simplify things.
So when it comes to your initiative just give me the actions for all 4 characters just as you did before. IF you guys hit level 1 at some point then we will drop down to an initiative per character system per the rulebooks suggestion.
Glad your enjoying yourself I just want to make sure i'm not the DM with his head in the sand, I always want to improve if I can.
Im updating tonight and i'll NPC as needed.

Re: OOC
Our battles are hard to follow, there are no many PCs and creatures running about. Am I correct in my reading that there are no foes within striking range? The survivors all scattered up the tower?
Re: OOC
Correct there are a few running across the wall and the others have run up the steps in the tower. The funnel in a PbP environment is a little confusing just because there are so many characters. I have a poorly drawn map on graph paper at home I can post a picture of if that might provide a bit more clarity on pc positions.
If any of you have suggestions on better ways to clarify information especially with the number of PC's i'd be more than happy to try something. You guys have survived quite a bit better than I originally anticipated I must say

Re: OOC
Hey AQuebman, afraid I'm going to walk over your way of handling the game by repeating and expanding on what I wrote on the poll you put up, but here goes and hope you'll not take it badly and that you all will forgive if I overstate my ideas.
After seeing Vargr's post and thinking it through, personally I think the combat is harder to follow not because there are more characters but because it's harder to know when to post and harder to follow the action while waiting for my turn to come around. I still think a very sensible mod for DCC on pbp (and I know of at least one other DCC game that does this) is to get everyone's actions at once and then resolve according to initiative order rather than waiting for each player's turn to get their actions and resolving their actions separately.
That's why I just posted the other day ahead of time, because I knew I had a busy day coming (yesterday) and if my turn came around I'd never get to it and you all would have to wait another day for me. Waiting slows the game down for everyone and makes it so we as players have forgotten what was happening 3-4+ days ago when it comes our turn again. When it finally comes my turn again, because I wasn't engaged for 3-4 days, it's harder to "catch up" enough to write my own post, and this makes it even more likely for a delay as the 5-10 minute window I had to post in may not feel adequate for the task, so I might put it off for another time.
Imo, we could be getting through a turn/round every 1-2 days with this mod and the understanding that everyone should post every day if possible or at worst every other day. As it is, I could post every day for the most part, minus my one really busy teaching day every week, but there's nothing to do because I'm waiting for others to post their actions before it's my turn, and they're likely at one of their own busy days where they can't get around to posting for a day or two, and so on.
If I'm misunderstanding anything or misrepresenting anyone, you all let me know, not worried about it and will keep playing on happily (seriously, not at all disgruntled here), but this is what I see/suspect is happening.

Re: OOC
Hey Rag,
Please never feel worried about giving considerate well thought out criticism I appreciate it. I was hoping the initiative order I was using at the top would resolve this issue but I can see that may be causing confusion rather than helping. I'll go ahead and give your idea a try and see how it runs.
So since were near the end of the round I just need Sparkles actions since I already have yours Rags.
I was already pushing a post every other day so i'll stick with an update every other day and NPC'ing any who can't post. Thank you for your feedback I do appreciate it.
I think i am also going to try and post occasional maps from my personal graph paper as that should clarify things a bit easier for all.
Thanks,
AQuebman
