Man. You're putting your job ahead of this game? You need to get your priorities straight. :D

I'm going to be a little slower posting this week. Our dog has mast cell cancer, we're waiting for the biopsy to come back and say what stage (I and II are harmless) and my 76 year old father fell last night while he and my mother were going out to dinner. We though he broke his hip but it's only a fracture. A small incision and a couple of screws and he'll be on his way. The problem is, the last time he had surgery we learned that he had suffered a stroke a couple of months prior and the surgery flared his stoke induced dementia. Surgery should only last a half hour and they don't think it will affect him but only time will tell.

That's a lot to deal with. I hope everything turns out ok.

Hope everything goes well.

And fyi- a fracture is a break. That's the medical term. If the bone snaps in two, it still is referred to as a fracture. Having said that, there are different levels of complexity. Sounds like your father's hip isn't too bad. Sometimes they can be a major ordeal. Best wishes for his recovery, as well as the health of your dog.

Sorry to hear this, ybn. I know the stress things like this can put on a person. Good luck dealing with everything.

Hey, that mushroom soup was made with loving care! It's not Ornthalas' fault that he didn't have his Cook's Tools and had to make due with the underwhelming equipment and supplies the Drow provided him to make food for a large group. Or that the food was made using Stool's cousins as ingredients. :(

Mushroom soup is Myconids!

Ahem...
The elf will sullenly go about his required tasks, putting in the bare-minimum effort needed to avoid the ire of their captors.
:D

Ok, he put in the bare minimum level of love into the cooking. Not buying it? Fine, he didn't even try. Probably didn't spit in it...often.

A heads up... I'm going slow here to give you guys a chance to talk/ plan. I can inject more action, and will do so in a bit. You have a map and a general sense of things, now, but might need more stuff, or info, or allies, or...?

The immediate plan on my end is that you guys are here in this prison. If you don't escape, you will eventually be transported to a drow city and sold off as slaves...

Ok, who do we trust to help us? Stool, the Myconid is a definite. Ornthalas promised to help him escape, plus he can help us communicate without the guards hearing it. I think Ronk should be included, as he seems he'll be happy to kill Drow. Ornthalas feels the Drow prisoner is not a spy, more an innocent guy thrown in jail. Is he going to go along with an escape plan that may involve killing other Drow? Thoughts? Are there any NPCs people feel should NOT be involved in the escape plan?

Shuushar is probably trustworthy, but too passive to do anything.

My narrative sense says that the drow is not a spy, but he doesn't seem inclined to help.

I imagine that someone is a spy, and that it would be someone who isn't obvious, but there should be a fair chance to become suspicious of them. At the moment, I'd guess Jimjar, but that's a wild guess.

Ront seems straight forward. Enthusiastic, not too bright, violent.

My character, Sabyllos, has the spell Command readied, and Mage Hand as a cantrip, both of which should be helpful in getting a key. Although we may not need it if we can get a little surreptitious lockpickery going on.

Ornthalas has a hook he can use as a makeshift lockpick with disadvantage. Given enough time to keep trying, he should be able to free everyone, assuming nobody in the cell starts making a commotion that draws guards.

Brana has an iron bar she can use as a weapon or lever/tool. Her spells are healing and damage mainly, I asked about switching one to command but never got a reply. I doubt the dwarf tracker Eldeth is a spy (we came in together).

Brimbal is a monk so his hands are his weapons. Couple that with a plethora of make shift weapons readily available in the kitchen and he can suitably arm himself in a heartbeat.

Personally, I'm not sure who the spy is. The drow is too obvious. I think like everyone else on this one, he's not enjoying where he is but doubtful that he will assist us.

On a personal note, thanks for well-wishing for my father. He underwent the surgery to have two screws placed in his hip and has been progressing through rehab quite well. He should be home sometime this week. Of course trouble always seems to follow my family in threes. My grandmother who has been on hospice care at home for the past couple of months was admitted to the hospital yesterday with respiratory problems. The doctors don't think she will make it through the week. I fully intend to post as regularly as I can but when I get the call, I will be going off-line immediately. I live in Baltimore but my mother's family live in rural north PA so internet access is going to be non-existent for me when I go up there. So if you don't hear from me for a day or two, then I have gone to see family and NPC my character as needed. I will pick back up when I return.
