Thanks. Xale's sheet is good. I did re-do his saving throw notes after I picked up the cloak.

Thanks. I've updated the spell lists for Malibran and Xale in my status-tracking post.

I also started to update Xale's AC info in that post, but then I noticed this from the DMG description of the Cloak of Protection:
DMG p. 141 wrote:Note that this device can be combined with other items, or worn with leather armor. It cannot function in conjunction with any sort of magical armor, normal armor other than that of leather, or in conjunction with a shield of any sort.
That means that Xale doesn't get any benefit from the cloak. I'll say that cloaks can be worn over robes, with the wearer getting the benefits of both (unless the DMG specifically says otherwise). So from my scan of the character sheets, it looks like Odilo, Rool, and Arex are the only ones who could benefit from the cloak (although Arex has a Cloak of Protection +3, so he wouldn't get as much of an upgrade. OTOH, he could take the +5 cloak and give his old cloak to Odilo or Rool).

For some reason I thought he got the + to save but not AC, maybe that is a ring of protection. I didn't change his AC (I knew that one).

Does anyone want the cloak of protection +5? (looks like Odilo, Rool and Arex would be the ones to benefit)

Yeah, that's the Ring of Protection you're thinking of. A Ring of Protection stacks with anything except magic armor or another Ring of Protection, and if you wear it with magic armor you still get the saving throw bonus. The Cloak of Protection is more restrictive.

Why do the various Items of Protection have different rules? You got me. Gygax gonna Gygax.

Arex and Odilo would benefit from the +5 Cloak more than Rool.

Oh, right—Rool already has a Cloak of Elvenkind. I'd missed that.

He would have packed this cloak in favor of the other. :)

It is morning. You can assume that you've recovered the spells you've posted here.

I am down 1 HP, do I get that back from rest or did you already handle that?

Characters don't recover HP just from resting overnight. They only recover HP naturally by spending a full day resting. So Xale is still down 1 HP.

However, there are two three PCs with regeneration rings who are now fully healed. Xale could probably borrow one of those rings for ten minutes. ;)

Edit: I forgot that Arex has a regeneration ring too. Popular items, those rings!

So Arex is taking the +5 cloak and Odilo is getting the hand-me-down +3? I'll update the character status page accordingly.
Dram wrote:Zhym are Odillo Hit points back to full? If so he would loan it out to one of the other characters.
I put a status line at the end of every update, listing the current HP status of every PC. :) To answer your question, though: yes, Odilo is at full HP now.

Also, there are two important details you may not have noticed if you haven't read through the game. First, all maigc items that were made in the prime material plane (i.e., all your magic items) with bonuses are currently performing at -2 to their bonuses. So the cloak that Odilo just got, for example, has an effective bonus of +1 right now, not +3. Please keep tracking bonuses as written, but know that AC, to-hit, damage, saving throws, etc. will be affected accordingly. It helps me when you do rolls if you will tell me whether the roll is adjusted for the -2 penalties or not. I put the current effective ACs in brackets in the character status post.

Second, you've learned that some spells have weird side effects here. One look at Risdac confims that: he cast giant strength (or was it growth?) and turned into a giant. It doesn't always happen, though.
