Just as soon as Talaris is welcomed into the group, another shady looking fellow in a cloak seems to be studying the group from a distance.

After a long uncomfortable stare, the newcomer holy half-elf starts to think he recognizes the human. He looks like another passenger that was on the same ship that he took here. The stranger slowly slinks up to within speaking distance of the others.
Thanks for the patience here everyone while we bring the noobs into the game! Please remember, none of you are forced to go along on this "mission". If there is something else any of you would rather do here, just say the word. I love solo adventures, they are incredibly deadly.

Eawad

Glancing as inconspicuously as he can manage at the group, Eawad assesses the likelihood of his survival in these strange surroundings on his own.

"Er, pardon me for eavesdropping," Eawad says to Brother Gilbert, "but I cannot help but agree. There is safety in numbers. To that end, would you mind terribly if I tagged along? Surely your group would appreciate the talents of an experienced musician." His face splits into a wide grin, eyes twinkling.

Storm groans loudly. A bard! Why did it have to be a bard! and begins to chew on the long sleeve of his robes pensively

Jaxsen Reiter

Jaxsen bows to the musician. "I am pleased to meet you. I am Jaxsen," says the young monk. "I must admit, I am at a loss as to exactly what you would do out in the jungle. But perhaps, like myself, you have talents other than carrying water."

Avaala the Grey

Avaala nods at the compliment from Maag, and then kneels beside Rollo, unsure how the big dog will react to the sudden expansion of the group. He needn't have worried, however, as the Mastiff merely shakes the drool from his mouth and yawns. Wiping the unexpected lather off his cloak, Avaala says, "This is Rollo."

Maag

"Why not come along eh mate? Wiv got a parade already, might as well 'ave a band.". He cackles once more.

"I'll tell yer one thing lads: we won't need to stab any monsters, we can jus' trample 'em to death".

Saracen nods to the new human newcomer and the half-elf priest of Pelor. I have used up some of my light magic already today. Perhaps it would be wise to begin at first light tomorrow, yes? Let’s take today to prepare and see if we can find anything out about that part of the jungle from the townsfolk who have been here a little longer than we? Is anyone injured?

Brother Gilbert

To Eawad, Welcome! A bard, eh? Mayhap there will be use for your talents on this trip.
Saracen, I agree that setting out on the morrow will give us time for rest and research. Any thoughts as where to begin with our questions?

Eawad

Taken aback by all the attention, Eawad swallows. A bard? Me? Surely he couldn't be thought of as more than a wayward minstrel, and barely that. But something told him that he had no real reason to offer any sort of correction for the moment.

Instead, Eawad smiles politely to each of the strange fellows offering him greetings. Then, once their attentions were diverted back to the growing discussion at hand, he takes a step or two back, unslings his instrument and begins to strum it softly, producing a gentle and relaxing tune.

Storm grits his teeth and tries to calm his nerves. Don’t set him on for, don’t set him on fire!” he mutters over and over like a mantra as the human strums away.

Great RP, gang! We have one last new recruit on the way, and possibly the others returning to town as well, so I will keep this mission in limbo just a bit longer. Thanks for being patient! :D

Saracen peers in at the device the human sun cleric has acquired. Have you checked it for magic at all? he asks innocently.

”Well maybe we should split up, someone could ask the tavern keeper, someone else Mr Nehru the leader of this community, he is a good soul. I have a contact that might know something of use perhaps. Is Chauncey the Adequate around? He went off into the woods to stop the pirate king, burn everyone who goes that way disappears it seems. There may be other Adventurers of precious excursions still hanging around these parts perhaps.

Maag

The half-orc perks up at the mention of a tavern.

"Tavern? I'll come wiv yer. I need a drink. I've bin kidnapped by pirates, almost fed ter sharks, almost 'ad me rowboat turned over by a sea monster and 'ad ter spend last night kippin' in Saracen's 'ut. I'll tell yer one fing: 'e don't arf snore. 's like a dragon farting in the fog". Maag winces and shakes his head at the thought of the recent horrors he's been forced to endure.

Brother Gilbert

To Saracen: I have not, yet. Jax and I examined it after Orin died. It is as you see, a copper disk, or perhaps a serving platter. It has odd purple lines on one side. That is all.

Saracen gestures to the others to stand back. Hold it up and I will see if it is. Lord of Light, hear my plight, lend me know your magic sight!” he chants, holding up his holy symbol.

As he casts Detect magic he scans the disc, and the surroundings.

The warrior priest calls upon the powers of his god to reveal what he can about the copper disk.

He gets a feint emanation of magic properties coming from it, though not enough to reveal its true purpose. The priest doesn't think that the disk necessarily holds a usable magical power within, but believes it might play a small part in something much larger that does.

If someone wants to introduce the noobs to Randall, feel free to pop into the tavern to see what's happening this morning.

Saracen will share his findings with the sun clerics.

He will then arrange to meet everyone here at dawn tomorrow to begin their excursion.

After that, the big half-orc will head to see the tavern owner, and see if he can find out anything about the structure they are heading towards. He will avoid Nehru’s.
