As a player, I am in favor of continuing.

AdaRue would be happy to return to town as a hero and return to midwifery, but she remains resolute about sticking by her friends. If Keebler, Junius, Canun and Rainey go on, she's with them.

Vernon will continue either way.

But if you aren't into it, Dave, that's a huge factor.

I will absolutely finish the current adventure if you guys want to continue -- definitely don't worry about that.

That said, running two (mostly) daily games is a big commitment, so, once this current adventure is concluded my plan is to focus solely on my 5e game.

Alright... Let's continue then. How do we shed ourselves of the three prisoners? I don't know that I trust them enough to how them. Not with their old employer running loose here.

And do we take the time to restore spells?

I doubt we have time to recover spells, unfortunately.

If we don't really have time to rest, anyhow, AdaRue will lead the prisoners back to Falco, with the bottle, giving credit to everyone in the party.

She has no magic and isn't the best fighter, anyhow. If we take the prisoners along, we'd need to have a couple folks on them, anyhow, to keep them from escaping.

Are Dr. Pete and Panglott still active in this game anymore? If not, have one of their PCs accompany her?

If we do split the party, Keebler would go back to town. He might even volunteer to take the tainted magic vessel back to town while the others go treasure hunting. The old elf wouldn't risk his life for shinies.

Horatio is in to keep going, of course.

The only player controlled characters remaining are as follows:

onlyme: Junius, Sacro
Rusty Tincanne: AdaRue, Vernon
Zhym: Horatio, Keebler

AleBelly should be back to control Canun, but hasn't checked in again since this.

drpete and panglott have been long gone, and I have been NPC-ing both Dimly and Rainey since. You are more than welcome to use them for specific purposes such as escorting prisoners back to town, etc... I'd even encourage it.

Considering where we are, let's have a couple folks return the bottle and at least 2 of the prisoners to town.

Rainey is useless at this point (no spells, no armor, HP 3 and a dagger to fight with).
Keebler is a good shot with a bow, but has expressed interest in quitting before and has no spells, anyhow.

That would leave Sacro, Canun, AdaRue (who is happy to make sure Canun and Junius survive), Vernon, Junius and Dimly.

One fighter, 2 dwarfs, 2 clerics and an elf... And any of the prisoners we might keep, if we trust them enough to not betray us.

Don't forget Horatio! And anyone from Raif's party who join the winning side.

I'd just as rather everyone stay. We need some targets for the goblins and they can act like they are casting.

We need people to stay so goblins can attack them? That’s not exactly a compelling argument. :)

Whoops. He was there in the first draft of that post, because I was going to mention Plan B, which is that Vernon, Canun and Horatio just go and join Raif and help clear the place. :P

And I hear what you're saying onlyme, but it hardly seems like anyone would willingly accept that job when the other option is to return to town as a hero and live happily ever after - a mere week or two after being sent away from their own home in disgrace, mind you. ;) That's why my gut reaction for AdaRue was to return to town.

My gut told me long ago to stop being realistic.

I figure we should either all walk out now and claim a moral victory over Dave :) , or we put on our Animal House / Uncommon Valor / Red Dawn underoos on and all go down in a blaze of glory, (or get rich and famous trying).

It doesnt make sense to tie one hand around our back to fight the final fight by sending half home.

Errr.. I think the story was advanced rather quickly there. In game terms we had just discovered the vials were for healing. AdaRue tried to get Junius and Dimly to drink them. Any chance of retconning that?

Also, at the bottom of page 19 Vernon had moved to guard the door.

He would not have let Raif get in without a fight. For whatever it's worth: Bastard Sword [1d20+1] = 11+1 = 12, dmg [1d8+1] = 4+1 = 5

There has just been a lot of debate, and not a lot of action.

I'll definitely allow Junius and Dimly to consume potions prior to the current situation developing. I'll just need whichever character has the previous healing potions to actually deduct however many get used.

I must have forgotten to move Vernon after your post on page 19 (note, we're well into page 20 at this point).

You know what.... eff it. I will make some corrections, which will alter my previous post, which will be reflected in my next update, which I'll try to post in a bit, but might not be until tonight.

Oh. I wasn't sure if you would retcon all that. Sorry to anyone that was planning on recruiting Raif and Yara.

FYI---

According to the footer, Junius is at full strength. I really cant remember if that is correct. Dimly certainly needs a potion, however.

I'm not quite seeing how this is any better than the situation before the retcon. Before, Raif and Yara were in the room and Raif had his hands in the air. With the retcon, Raif and Yara are both in the room and we're fighting. How is this any different than just attacking after the parlay?

Wasn't the point of Rusty's post that Vernon wouldn't have let Raif get in—not that Vernon would let Raif in then attack him?

Who said adjusting the situation had to make it better?
  • I missed where the door was being guarded.
    The door was opened.
The adversary attempted to insert themselves into the room.
An attack roll was provided by the character guarding the door.
    The guard draws blood.
