The gargantuan bird dives from the sky! Lug, Stantz, and Baxtaw pepper its feathers with arrows (-2, -3, -9), but it barely seems to notice. Osana takes cover while Piers steps forward, calling on Baudh's holy might to blind the avian with divine light.
Glowing light bursts forth from the birds eyes and it emits a shrill cry! It dives at Stantz, but its aim is off as it finds itself suddenly blind. One massive talon scrabbles against the mountain rocks, the other sheers through the warrior's platemail like tin
(-13). Failing to grab him and deterred by its blinded state, the bird banks back up into the air and away, fleeing to its mountain top aerie.
(Well done! Aftermath actions?)

Piers
The cleric watches the great bird fly off. "Damn! I thought once I blinded it, it would crash into those big rocks over there. I was trying to kill one bird with two stones."
Piers looks around, with a cocky grin on his face.

"Takes a lot of stones to make a joke that bad," laughs Lug.
"So. We gonna go in and kick some dragon butt, or we gonna get some sleep?"

Baxtaw sees to the wounded warrior. Lets hope we do not have anymore encounters till we meet the dragon. Piers can you heal this man.

Piers
"Let us see how Baudh's blessing continues to flow" announces the cleric.
Cure Light Wounds [1d6+1] = 6+1 = 7
"He is bounteous indeed' says Piers, watching Stantz's wounds begin to heal.
"Now, I could try again, but I fear that would mean I had used up almost half my spells today. In that case, it might be better to follow Lug's suggestion about taking a rest."
"Lord Commander Bremen, perhaps your spiritual advisor could assist?" Piers turns to his fellow cleric.
"I'm sorry sir, in our rush to depart, I did not catch your name. I am, of course, Piers Garret, at your service. And you are?"

Osuna emerges from cover.
"Well, I found it humorous," the mystic assures Piers with a shrug.

Stantz, not one for many words, nods to Piers in appreciation.
Lord Commander Bremen chides his hirelings for not having bows.
We'll remedy that as soon as we can... He recommends the group find a place to bed down.
How tall is the mountain? Approximately how long would it take to scale up to the Roc's nest? If it seems like it wouldn't take more than 30-60 minutes to get up there, Bremen would like to either (try to) steal an egg or try to employ it.

Piers is in favour of bedding down after the long night march. He'd also like to converse with the other cleric in the group about spiritual matters. He wants to avoid the problem of unnecessary spell duplication.
These are the spells he's planning on taking into the dragon's lair:

Lug hops from one foot to the other, impatient. It's hard to tell for sure, but it seems like the ground shakes a little with each of the man-giants's hops.
"Get busy sleepin', or get busy...doing whatever else it is we're gonna do. That's what I say!"

Bremen considers the mountain peaks above, stretching up above the almost ever-present clouds. This mountain range, considered so massive as to be the end of the world, is even more opposing up-close. It is no wonder that humanity didn't dare to seek to cross it for over three thousand years. The 'mountain' you are circling, below which the dwarves delved, is 5-6 miles around and little more than a toe-hump compared to the peaks that tower above your heads southward where the giant roc retreated.
Father Clauson steps up and offers his healing as well, completely sealing Stantz's wounds. He then turns to the much younger Piers and gives him a paternal smile.
"Father Clauson," he introduces, giving a humble nod of his head, his white vestments over his banded mail, which he wears with comfort.
"I am indeed Spiritual Advisor to his excellence, the Lord Commander. I would be glad to shed illumination on any matters spiritual or temporal for you - it is a great honor to restore the White Knights and the purity of our following in this land," he further offers to Piers.
"I appreciate your skillful ministrations to our man-at-arms. If you'd like to join us, it is our custom to lead devotions for our men daily at dusk and dawn, or at the least, when rising and sleeping."
Clauson:
With the decision to camp, Father Clauson does just that. The nine mounts are cared for and hobbled to graze on the sparse mountain grass. He gathers together Stantz, Bremen, and the six other knights into kneeling ranks for service, intoning over them the supplications to Baudh for righteous direction in their actions, that they might be an instrument of divine justice, that his excellence the Lord Commander be granted the divine wisdom of leadership, and their bodies be strengthened by this rest and devotion.
The six knights then pair off to establish watches, turning away offers to assist, as theirs is the duty to protect. A campfire is established in a sheltered cleft and after a simple meal, everyone is able to bed down for some needed rest.
Eight hours pass without incident, everyone able to recover from their night's exertions. The spellcasters are able to restore themselves and Baxtaw is reasonably confident that this time he has the correct bearings on the sun-fields, which should lie upslope from where you are now, achievable with about two-hours hike.
Anything before setting out?

Lug wakes, pisses on a rock, and sighs loudly with satisfaction.
"Giddy-yup!" he says. "Let's go kick some dragon ass!"

Bremen, already awake for further ministrations from Father Clausen, nods in agreement. He thanks his men for their diligent watchfulness through the night. As they mount up, he marvels at Stantz's shredded mail. Well get that fixed up by the Blackhelms when we're back. In the meantime, try and be careful.

Sighting out the direction the roc flew off using his compass (and marking it on a map), Bremen then offers the use of his compass in guiding the group as they set out.
I forgot to mention he has one of those.

Piers gladly participates in the ceremony with Father Clauson. When the party sets out again in the morning, he issues instructions to Rowine and Crowager to cover any further attacks by hostiles. Crowager should take care of Norp the mule, and if the enemy is at a distance, Rowine may engage them with her bow.

Baxtaw packs up his bedroll. Eating some of his dry rations. When you are all ready lets be off.

Your group packs up and sets out, following Baxtaw further up the mountain's slope. After two hours the dwarf identifies the square sunken indentations in the grass as sun fields, now filled by erosion. Baxtaw's elven eyes point out the hidden door behind them in the hillside, now propped open.
Baxtaw's scouting alerts him a threat - two large wargs and three wolves lie resting on the grass outside the door. He is able to alert the party before the wolves see them; you can act with surprise.

The only good warg or wolf is a dead one. Should we surround them and pepper them with arrows? Or can someone make them all sleep?Or I could try and scale above them and drop a boulder on them.

Baxtaw,(AC5,HP20)
Use our ranged weapons. Let us all fire at the same time.
M.W. L. bow(THACO15)-Warg
+1 MW Bow(THAC016)[1d20+3] = 16+3 = 19 Dam[1d8+3] = 1+3 = 4

"Yokey doke," says Lug. He fires his Boring Bow into a rock somewhere almost near the wolves.
Longbow (THAC0 18): [1d20+1] = 3+1 = 4 [1d8] = 8
"Screw that!" he says, drawing Reason and preparing to charge.
ETA: In case we're doing surprise and 1st round both:
"Reason" (2-handed sword) (THAC0 18): [1d20+2] = 13+2 = 15 [1d10+2] = 10+2 = 12
