Was wondering whether the door would burn if oil was judiciously applied to it.

"Who locks a torture room from the inside?" wonders Horatio. "They worried people are gonna break in and use the equipment without permission?"

AdaRue passes out the keys to the others to help free the prisoners. Once the are free, she suggests they lay a trap for the torturer. The poor soul in there is at the evil creature's mercy. If we barge in, his life is forfeit. It really stinks, but we need to wait for the door to be opened from the inside. She recommends a couple from the party take the prisoners to the next room and tend to their wounds as best they can, while the rest of the crew stand at the places of the chains. When the creature comes in with the prisoner, we move to block both doors out of here and kill it. Then we get these poor men back to town. She recommends at least one magic user be present in case the creature recognizes the danger and tries to flee back into its chamber.

"Good plan," says Horatio. He looks for a shadow just to the side of the door to hide in, the better to jump out from behind and stab a torturer in the back.
Slowly.

Keebler, even less loquacious than usual since returning to the caves, takes a position at the far end of the cave and to the side where he can take an unobstructed bow shot without immediately being seen.

Wooden. Your best estimate is that it is at least a few inches thick.
Sturdy, but not impenetrable.

Junius (assuming this wondering was audible) whispers back. Id guess they come in from the other side of the torture room, and only deposit the prisoners here afterward. If so, that means we may have stumbled into the end of their compound, rather than the beginning. Anyone have any food to feed them, or water?
He will look to see what he can offer from his own pack.

Dimly takes a position to strike at any torturer barging through the door of a sudden. Let's escort these prisoners to safety while we still can. Perhaps we can circle back around and get into the torture chamber another way, the dwarf says.
EDIT If anyone is escorting prisoners outside, Dimly will take the position of prisoner #4 or #5, the best to strike at the torturer when the door opens. He will do his best to look like a scruffy maltreated prisoner while keeping his arms within reach.

Rainey stares at the door, thinking.
"Maybe we knock, and yell something in goblin, like 'yo, guard here... a prisoner just died!' to get them to open the door..."

Canun shakes his head. He thinks they should cut their losses with eight prisoners ready to be rescued, but he's had his say. He goes into the other room with AdaRue to look after those he rescued.
He pulls three days worth of rations from his pack and distributes them to those that are hungry. He pulls a sheet of vellum from his pack and records this so he can be reimbursed upon returning to town.
"I like people that weren't captured" says Canun to the prisoners. "But we'll still save you."

The Torturer!
It takes several minutes to herd all the prisoners back into the relative safety of the neighboring guard room. AdaRue and Canun remain behind and begin to feed and tend to the prisoners.
Back in now emptied out prisoner area, the rest of the group, fronted by Junius and Dimly, assemble in front of the solid, wooden door without a handle. With everyone in place, Junius raps loudly on the door and calls out in a crude goblin tongue: "A prisoner just died!"
A loud crack is heard from from the area beyond, then a reply, also in goblin: "That's the plan. Who cares?" After a brief pause, the same goblin voice is heard grumbling incoherently, then movement towards the door.
What sounds like a key being inserted into a metal lock is heard.
Then a lock clicking open.
Then the door is angrily pulled open, opening into the area beyond, and a tall hunched goblin whose grotesque body has bony growths sprouting in many directions, including a limp second head that emerges from his right shoulder and neck. The primary head looks about with crazed eyes while it laughs horribly in sync with sounds coming from the second head’s limp mouth.

A lone human lies stretched naked on a torture rack, his white and deep red clothes in a crumpled heap on the floor next to him.
The grotesque goblin spies the group, flashes an evil grin, then turns quickly and cranks hard one last time on the torture device. After a loud snapping noise is heard, the stretched out human briefly screams... then stops.
The goblin torturer wheels around to face the group and releases a familiar fit of laughter. It raises its hand revealing sharp claws and appears to target Junius and Dimly blocking the doorway.

He would have been able to hear Junius' knocking and call, and a loud scream, but nothing else in real precise detail.

OK, thanks.
Canun hands his rations to AdaRue and sighs, nodding towards the prisoners. "Feed them. The others probably need me to save them again. I'm going to see what's going on in the other room"
If he makes it into the other room and has time, get his sling ready. If he can shoot a stone at it, he will do so.

AdaRue silently worries about her friends but shows no indication of it to the prisoners. She offers what food and water she and Canun had to offer. While they eat, she rifles through the weaponry of the dead goblins in the room. She stacks what she finds near the exit, ready to hand out if the need arises for these stricken men to defend themselves. She remi ds canun to be safe. And to keep the others safe.

The Slumbering Torturer!
The door gets thrown open and the grotesque goblin torturer reveals itself, and its intentions. It lashes out at Junius with its terribly sharp claws and swipes -- but the dwarf is able to easily fend off the onrusher with his shield. With the goblin monstrosity atop him, Junius quickly switches to his scimitar and slashes wildly. Keebler sinks an arrow through its leather armor and into the thick hide of the creature...
...which collapses...
... asleep; a victim of Rainey and his arcane magics.

Aside from its leather armor, the torturer has no other possessions on its body.
Inside the heavily bloodstained room are the tools of the torturers trade. A rack, blades, needles, saws, axes, and various other instruments of torture. Still stretched upon the rack is a naked human male -- now dead. On the floor, next to his white and red clothes -- emblazoned with the logo for the Crimson Brotherhood: a white gauntleted fist over a red shield -- are the man's possessions, which include a long sword, a long bow, and a quiver with 7 red-feathered arrows remaining. His belt, with a large pouch, are also present. Inside the pouch are 158 gold pieces and three glass vials containing a red liquid which glimmers when agitated.
There don't appear to be any other exits from this room.
--- onlyme, as you were engaged in melee, you would not have been able to use your bow. I had Junius switch to his scimitar, saving you an arrow.
AdaRue continues to fuss over the prisoners, doting on their injured bodies and psyches. Bit she is also wary of them, unsure if any are totally broken, she makes sure none flee the room to raise an alarm.
When the others emerge from the back room, she passes out the goblin weaponry she has gathered, arming the most fit first. She asks the prisoners for the name of the man just killed.
EDIT: How many weapons did she find on the dead goblins in the room? Were there more in the hallway from the previous day?

Junius suggests they get the group quickly back to town for safety, unless the little food is perking them up enough to continue.
