Langston & Brick's Rumors (All others, peek not or damn your eyes):
Mr. Beaker's Rumors:
Wizard Lizard, it sounds like you're getting good advice on how to use the roller. Feel free to ask more questions as they arise! We've all walked this same path.
Vanis Huckle's Secret Sweets:
And GWAR!'s:
Okay, let's see if I have our Quorum of the Foolhardy (to borrow mjulius' phrase):
Horton Portencium, an Exhausted Librarian
Shaggy Beaker, a Town Crier, and
Mouse, an Urchin
Vanis Huckle, a Novice Sweet-Maker
Kurt Smithington, a Beautiful Dullard
GWAR!, a Man of Fearsome Aspect, and
The Butchness of Wrath, his Companion
Langston Overton, a Self-made Man, and
Brick, his Companion
A fine lot of ne'er-do-wells. Did I miss anyone?

Equipment: sword, armor, shield
Okay, by the rules, GWAR!'s equipment is:
Cane (d6), Acid, Spyglass, Arcanum
We can trade the cane out for a sword (d6)
Shield Armor can replace Acid & the Spyglass (The rules seem to consider this a downgrade)
And an arcanum.
Shield Armor (10s, one hand): Armor 1. Outdated armor requiring a shield (included) to be effective.
Note that you only have one free hand because of this armor. And the way it works is that you get to subtract 1 from all damage you receive.
And I'm forgoing a roll and just assigning you an Arcanum:
Bone Magnet: You may attract or repel a single target that has a skeleton, unless they pass a WIL save.

The rumors wrote my background!
Maybe we can set up a character thread once the forums up? These stats are so light I may just forgo the character sheet and simply edit a single post when I need to make changes.

I'm fine with waiting on the rumors and roleplaying them out into the open. That sounds more fun.
Awkward admission: this may be the first time ever I didn't peek at someone else's spoiler box. I haven't looked at anyone's but mine. Maybe I'm slowly becoming a better person?

I am going to wait until we have the game forum before I divulge my rumors.

I really like the combat in Into the Odd. Everything has a descriptive function (no whiffed rolls).
Here's a link to some of Chris McDowall's thinking on the subject for interested players:

Yeah,
Into The Odd may not be right for every kind of game, but for
a certain kind of game, it is perfect. Everything has been honed down to its predatory essence in order to get right to the living heart of gameplay.
I'm thinking that it should work very well for PbP, since there'll be a lot less backing-and-forthing over die rolls, and more focus on critical decisions by the players.

Glad to see things are coming together!
Speaking of things coming together, I apologize for the campaign forum still not being available. The carpenters, it seems, started drinking the Venetian turpentine, and the forming crude figures out of the floor wax, and staging lurid puppet shows with them. They've been sent home to sleep it off, and replacement workers are being shipped in from Utah. I expect they'll get to work the moment they touch down, and our lovely new forum will be completed only slightly past deadline and marginally over-budget.

Let the up-rolling begun!
Deet (only Mama calls him Diethardt)
A simple-minded young man, thanks to a kick in the head by his favourite horse, Deet is here to save his sister Friederika. When she disappeared, and a neighbour said she'd been "taken up by a rogue", Deet understood it literally, though she was in fact abducted by (perhaps eloped with) an "experienced man" of ill repute.

To get myself into the mode of the game I re-watched Jack the Giant Slayer earlier this week.

All hail the carpenters! The campaign forum is now complete, and most of the rugs and furniture have been moved in!
GARGANTUA!
