I have fond memories of Star Frontiers. I think it was the only sciFi rpg I played FtF.
When all the PDFs were available freely I scooped them all up. Good stuff good times.

Hail and well met, angelicdoctor!

Welcome aboard and certainly glad to have you here! 8-)

ToniXX wrote:... Regarding the sci-fi games: I used to play Star Frontiers. Did anybody else? I remember I liked that quite a bit as a kid, but only played it a few times as not may of my friends were into it. We always reverted back to 1ed AD&D, which was also quite fine with me.

Oh heck ya! I actually played way more 1E Gamma World, Metamorphosis Alpha and Star Frontiers than Moldvay D&D back in the day and have just launched a new MA1e FtF campaign. I really wanted to play Traveler, and still do, but never had the chance. Over at the MA forums, the site admin Craig Brain just received a POD version of Stars without Number (which I guess has a free download somehwere too!). In addition to Craig saying that the rules and game system look nice and streamlined, he also said that there is definitely a Traveler influence in there. Definitely have to check that out!

But yes, as I mentioned earlier somewhere previous, I am still planning on running a SciFi PbP here later this year, either straight up MA1e(or the new 5e perhaps, if it gets finished in time?) or use my special hybrid rule set of 1E Gamma World/Metamorphosis Alpha/Star Frontiers. I still have all three of the original books from back in the day and absolutely loved playing each of them, which is probably why I can't seem to not want to use all of them in unison in some way, shape and form.

Anyways, welcome again angelicdoctor and it's awesome to see more good folks from the other old school boards making their way over to the good ship Unseenservant! :)

I assumed control over Jeloon later into the module, but I've been having a good time with it so far.

Sounds good. I can't wait for the next installment to see what will happen with the old lady.

Bill's in the living room, face in hands, saying to his wife, "he ruined it, Ron's just ruined it!"

Yeah, Ron's Legacy game has been nothing short of awesome. Although diverse in make up, I very much enjoy the way our party works together and how we play off each other. It's been Top Drawer fun to be sure!

(... and yes, Yosef has been on pins and needles waiting to find out what the old lady knows about Roghan and Zelligar!! :D )

No way Ron, you have clearly elevated the adventure and I really can't wait to see how it moves forward. I have to say that it is really cool to see it come to life. Of course, I expect a tpk any day now...

TPK? Way I hear it, we've gotten a lot farther than most of the other play tests.

Have faith in us!

You guys are doing great. Just having some fun with you on the tpk. I would rather you survive so you can get beat up later - after all, you have only just started and there is much, much more to come.

By they way, Ron did a fantastic job dropping the Melissa bomb! Again, he is elevating this scenario which is a huge credit to him. :D

Considering we've been at it for what seems like two years now, to hear that we have much more to do is both exciting and daunting at the same time.
