Dagg "Bah but right there it says tomb not tome. I really don't care for muddling around in some tomb. Not a big fan of messing with the dead and or the undead."

Sasha chuckles to herself.

Eram, you look familiar to me. Do you have a brother named Pero?

The she-elf takes a closer look at the simpletons map.

Personally, I'd rather take a swim in the harbor before dealing with the living dead that I'm sure we will encounter in some tomb, even if it is spelled wrong. But, if the rest of you think it's worth a look, I guess I could go underground a little ways. I must admit that the magic and tome part does sound intriguing.

Pendleton peruses the map, his eyes lingering on the word "damned."

"I must concur that the prospect of facing the living dead does not particularly appeal to me," he says. "Besides, we have a boat to catch in a couple of hours, and I am skeptical that we could investigate that tomb and make it back before the boat departs."

"Was this Aetheron a person of any historical import?" he asks.

"Well we ain't gonna make it rich by passing on jobs like this, is we?" Welby asks, frowning at the others.

"But I do wonder, if they's so much treasure and madjik in the hills, why none of these pirates hain't gotten it out yet." He gives the two men a harder look. "How'd yer dad die, Eram? Et by a zombie, was it?"

"Bah," Eram snorts. "I have half a mind to just keep the map to meself," he says derisively. "C'mon, Chum." he says, snatching the map back from his friends and and securing it back in his pouch before storming off. Chumley shrugs. "Well, good luck wit' the captain," he says before following his friend.

Okay, it appears the party will be splitting, with some going to the arena and others going to visit the Cyphermages. I will begin working on these updates today.

Bignus is being NPC'd temporarily, but is not exactly the fighting type, and will probably join those seeking out the Cybermages. How about Wilby?

Wilby heads to the arena, his left hand fidgeting with the pommel of his dagger as he follows behind the others.

Sasha notices the "left out" look on the face of Bignus.

Come along then! You can accompany us if you'd like.

When Chumley and Eran storm off, Morgan shrugs her shoulders and relaxes her sword hand. She puts her shield on her back and prepares to find the CypherMages with Pendleton and Sasha. She says to the other group We'll see you at the docks on two hours.

Dagg "Definitely has half a mind that's for sure. Chum appears to be the smarter of the two. Lets go win some fights at the arena Elias." the dwarf quips as he turns and heads off to the arena.

Elias watches the pair depart with the map, an apologetic look can be seen in his eyes when he here's Dagg talking he snaps himself out of it. "Yeah let's see what kind of brawn this port can produce." He heads off alongside the dwarf.

The two groups complete their brief side excursions and reunite outside of the arena. Enough time has passed that, if your plan is to meet up with Captain Raleigh at the docks, it's time to head there. If you'd rather remain in Riddleport and explore further, you can do that as well.


So, what is the plan?

"How was the arena?" asks Pendleton. "The Cypherlodge was disappointing, I'm afraid. I must admit that I find Riddleport to be less interesting than I had hoped. I would suggest that we return to the docks and rejoin the Devil's Mistress. Perhaps her next destination will be more compelling."

Dagg look of utter disappointment "Eh well glad we didn't fight but it was kinda dull what with no betting when we got there late, and they do the betting down the street from the arena. But watching the so called fights were something even if the odds were against the fighters."

Morgan nods in the affirmative at what Pendleton says, adding They are a very secretive bunch the cypher mages. I agree that we should get ourselves back to the ship.

Welby shrugs his lack of enthusiasm at the arena,"Looked fixed to me. Let's get outta here before we're stuck here."

"Naught here but trouble" agrees Bingus as he taps some spent ashes from his pipe. "Back to the ship."

Sasha lays down some more of her usual sarcasm.

Oh, I don't know. If you like the stench, unfriendly sages, a deadly harbor, some complete simpletons, and fixed games of chance, this place has it all.

Why did the captain stop here in the first place? Something smells fishy to me, and I'm not talking about the harbor either. Does anyone else think that the captain isn't telling us everything? Who in their right mind would brag about how fast you could sail to this crap hole?

I think when we re-board the ship, we should try to figure out what this captain really has in mind for us this time.

Dagg "For once I'm agreeing with you Sasha I'm all for getting back on the captains ship. I've had my fill of this place."
